Must Ascend

After learning out what they could from Elred they were going to meet back up with the others at the inn, but as they were walking down the street to go to the inn they found the others already walking towards them. At first Leo and Daryl were angry at Bredret for getting them all kicked out of the inn. Anger did not last very long, however, as they knew they had more important things to deal with. The information they found out was something they quickly had to get out of the way. It was shocking for everyone including Bredret to hear.

For a god to fall to the path of destroying mortals for fun among the realm was something that was unfathomable for anyone to hear. Divinity was something that not just anyone was granted and at some point in time the god had to be considered pure and loyal to the realm to serve has a protector without a sign of falling to destruction, but now word of a fallen god was just spoken to them all. The very thought of it made them all shudder to their bones.

"The real problem here is how we are going to fight against such a powerful figure!" Leo stated loudly so that they would all catch on to the big problem in front of them.

"Simple... We don't. We fly like hell away from here!" Bredret blurted out the first thing that came to mind with his eyes closed. When he opened them he could see everyone glaring at him as if what he had suggested as a joke. Celeste was even glaring at him and he felt his heart flop inside his chest.

Vorbuk sat on the ground behind them all as he listened to them talk back and forth. Many of their ideas were instantly shot down by the others the second someone would suggest something. It was obvious to him that they had no clue how to deal with such a situation and he could easily understand why. The very term god alone was something that would strike fear into the hearts of anyone who heard it if it was followed by the idea of fighting such a figure.

He had never met a god in this realm, but he could tell from the name alone that it held a high power. The most powerful beings in the realm that were worshiped by all that lived among the realm.

Are gods immortal in this realm? He thought to himself as he tried to guess the answer before the sound of a response sounded in his mind.

[ No. Even god's just as all things in the realm have a life that can be ended. ]

Oh, right. I always forget you're in my head like this... Vorbuk wanted to laugh but refrained from doing so as it would be awkward in front of everyone else that was being serious.

[ I am god's voice. I am here only upon need of me. ]

Well, god's voice... how do you kill a god? Vorbuk figured he might as well give it a shot at asking the know-it-all inside his head.

[ Ascending is the only chance at standing on equal footing to end a god, only divinity can end a divine being who has reached the peak of divinity ]

Is it even possible for me to ascend? Vorbuk scoffed at the thought of a wolf becoming a god.

[ Yes. ]

What?! How?! He words in his mind became a mix of panicked and excited at the same time at the response gods voice had given him.

[ Invalid. No response can be given. ]

You can not response to a question regarding how to ascend? He sighed.

[ Invalid. No response can be given. ]

Is there anything you can tell me about ascending? He tried to push the voice again.

[ Information regarding topic: Ascension is locked. Access of such high knowledge is forbidden to be accessed. To try again a higher level is required. ]

So I have to gain more power before accessing such information... Vorbuk thought to himself over having learnt such information about himself. It seemed that he could push himself over time to gain higher standing in the realm. If he reached the pinnacle point in the realm he could easily help the others with their problem. More important to him though it would mean that nobody would even make attempts against him in any form especially submission to someone because nobody would dare to go against a god.

Glancing over at the people standing around still making plans for the future he continued to debate over how to push himself higher in power. A sudden dream to stand at the pinnacle of all the gods at the top of everything else started to forge it's way into his soul like a brand his soul had gained the desire for power.

He did not want power to topple mountains.

He did not want power to kill.

He wanted power to ensure his own freedom in the world.

He wanted power to ensure the safety of all he felt deserved the same as his dream of freedom.

That was truly his highest desire at that moment in life. No one else was aware of the mindset of the wolf that stood there while watching them all. His eyes were full of desire, dreams, and hope for the future of himself and everything he cared for in life that he had. Though, even he had no idea how deeply his desire was engraved onto his soul.

The desire for power that branded itself on him was something that was bound to drive his way in the future to reach heights he could never even dream of reaching in his past life. Time was the only thing that could determine where the desire would lead him in the future and even he had no idea how powerful a choice that his desire was. It was something that would seal his fate and drive him to work towards a future for the realm that only the realm itself could have knowledge of.

His very desire to stand at the pinnacle of the gods would come to change the entire realm in the future. Little did Vorbuk know that his future would be a bloody path that would lead him to become known one day as... The God of Tranquillity.

His future was still far away, however, and he had a lot of work to do ahead of him if he wanted to have any hope of protecting himself and those around him. The dragon in there group was even far ahead of him already at the divinity level. If he wanted to have any hope he had to work hard to learning and gaining power as carefully and quickly as possible.
