Vorbuk watched the surroundings as they entered the kingdom of Cista. There was various kinds of creatures from dwarves, elves, humans to even the more commonly feared species such as vampires and lycans everywhere. Even though the kingdom of Cista was not as large as Cadirade or Ethiadan it still was highly populated due to the constant flow of people coming and going from the kingdom for the reasons of trading in a safe environment.
"What is the name of the guy we're looking for?" Leo asked as he looked around and realized it was going to be very complicated to find someone in such a highly populated environment.
"His name is Chete." Daryl stated as he could tell what the prince was thinking from the look on his face.
"It's going to be hard to find anyone among this level of population. I can't even tell clearly who is what kind of species here with my own sense of smell." Vorbuk said to the crown prince as he tried to decipher some of the people among the crowd.
There was so many people that their scents were jumbled so deeply among each other that it was impossible to depict who was what. It did not matter that Vorbuk could tell what species were in the crowd if he could not tell who the species was specifically. Since they had entered the kingdom of Cista he had already sensed multiple Cambions in the crowds of people moving around, but what good would he be if he couldn't tell who they were to even mention it to someone? He almost felt useless in this situation.
"Since Daryl and Bredret are the only two here who know what the guy looks like I guess it's up to them." Leo folded his arms over his chest as he closed his eyes in thought.
"That may be true in this case. I can not refute that thought considering this kingdom is the highlight of trade and so heavily populated all year round." Daryl nodded. He knew that the prince would be useless in this condition.
The crown prince and Zoe had never met Chete the cambion before so they would most likely have a hard time finding him. Chete was always on the move and hiding from others unless he wanted to be found by someone specific so for a complete stranger to locate him it would be highly unlikely unless they dug deep for information. Daryl had only met the cambion by accident in his past.
"What does the guy look like so we can at least keep an eye out in case?" Zoe asked curious as she looked around at the mix of races everywhere.
"Average height, probably looks like he's in his twenties due to him aging so slowly I doubt that's changed much over the years, and last I remember he was red eyed with black hair. Usually hangs out in bars or dark places where he's less noticeable from what I recall of the guy." Daryl tried to think back to the last time he saw the demon Chete.
After a few hours of traveling through Cista from one town to the next it was beginning to get late. They had seen many cambions who were safely hiding among the kingdom of Cista due to it being neutral to avoid being hunted from adventurers, but they had no sighting of Chete. Daryl had gathered Intel from locals that Chete had in fact been around the area they were heading towards though they had head to run into him.
Daryl could not decide whether the guy knew they were looking for him and was avoiding them or if they were really just missing him completely. Chete was always the type in the past that he would avoid anyone he did not have a desire to see and those he did have a desire to see was always a very small list. It did not matter if he trusted you or not; if he did not have a need for you at the time it would be almost near impossible to pin him down unless he allowed it.
After a while longer they all headed into a bar to sit down and relax with a cold drink. All of them were sitting together in a far corner together as they chattered among themselves. The wolf was sitting at the side of their table as he watched around the bar while carefully studying his surroundings.
"The people of Cista seem very lively." He said to himself as he could easily see the huge difference between the kingdoms as they explored the land.
"That's because Cista is secure from becoming a war zone... At least it was before the god Chynir got involved in the war. With him involved there is no telling if he will head for Cista as well. After Chynir has his way with the kingdoms during the war there may not even be a neutral kingdom this time around." Leo whispered to Vorbuk in response to hearing his comment.
Vorbuk lay his body down against the floor and listened to the crowds of people chattering around the room outside of their own group. He could hear comments towards Cadirade and Ethiadan involved among the people. It seemed like they were discussing the war and how things were getting bad for the people involved.
"I can't believe the king of Cadirade let his other son disappear. I heard after they buried the third prince and the crown prince left the palace that the second prince just up and left in the middle of the night afterwards. Nobody knows where he went"
"Cadirade is having a hard time during this war... How is a king suppose to protect his kingdom if he can not even control his own children?"
"Yea, I heard there is a rumor going around in the kingdom of Ethiadan that the second prince may have turned coat on his own kingdom and they don't even know it!"
"If Cadirade doesn't know anything about it how would Ethiadan?"
"Isn't it simple? The second prince may be sided with Ethiadan and that's why the Ethiadan kingdom knows so much about Cadirade's inside workings!"
Vorbuk's ears were burning as he listened to the people across the room talking. He was partially glad his own group could not hear the rumors being whispered about from the others in the distant side of the bar. At least that was what he thought until he turned his head and saw that the crown prince was wearing a pale expression. It didn't look like Leo was going to react to the people as to not give away who he was in the situation, but he was holding his drink so tight that his knuckles were changing color from the fury he felt inside his heart.
