A God's Will

Iemis stood there in silence as he watched the liveliness of the Kingdom of Cista. His shaggy gray hair waved about the night breeze like the gentle waves of a flowing stream. That pair of colorless eyes held an unknown mystery behind them as he could sense the life of every being that walked among Cista without the need to search a crowd. As people passed by him they would glance in his direction only to avert their gaze from the sudden fluctuation of fear they felt when his pupil would turn their way. There was a natural air about Iemis that could easily force a mortal person to kneel before his presence if they were not careful and got sucked in to the natural dominance his aura released.

Holding out the palm of his hand in front of him a soft white light began to ignite in the air above it. To Iemis he could not feel the soft heat that the flame gave off but he was aware that it was there. His existence had been longer then even he was self aware of almost to the point he could not be certain if he had even been born. There were many things that Iemis knew and kept to himself that even the other gods were not aware. The only thing that other gods knew about when it came to Iemis was the fact that he was far beyond the age of any living god and his will could not be defied without the risk of even another god falling to his hands.

"You're meddling with mortal affairs? Has Chynir really aroused your interest that much?" A voice spoke from behind Iemis where he stood causing him to release the small white light from the palm of his hand quickly into the air. Evaporating in the air the light was quickly gone before the person could become aware of his motion.

"Invalid." Iemis said while turning his gaze towards the one that had followed him. As he turned around he could see the silhouette of the God Fulo.

"Invalid how? I just saw you meddling in mortal affairs." Fulo sighed to himself as he glanced around to see that there were still many mortal lives around and he had to be careful how he spoke. The last thing that Fulo wanted to do was start a panic by the mortals realizing that they were both standing among them.

"Invalid. One does not meddle in mortal affairs so blatantly." Iemis shook his head slightly as he found Fulo's meddling to be bothersome.

[ Hello? A little help here! ] The sound of Vorbuk could be heard by Iemis through a spiritual channel he kept open in his own mind. He could sense every notion on the mortal's life force, capabilities, and even read Vorbuk down to his very thoughts. A slight smile began to peak at the sides of his face as something about how troublesome the mortal could be at times felt amusing to him.

"Then what are you doing out here in the mortal territory? You rarely wander from the God's Realm. If anyone is strict about rules it's always been you behind us all." Fulo began to feel nervous as he caught sight of the slight smile on Iemis's face. He rarely saw the man display any form of emotion towards situations so the sight of him smiling was something that caused his body to shiver.

"Directing." Iemis stated simply.

"Directing.. what?" Fulo pressed further because he could not understand the way Iemis spoke. At times the way he heard the man speak would make him feel even more frustrated then before he even asked him a question to begin with.

"Possibly the greatest creation this world has yet to see." Iemis thought out loud as he gazed into the life of the kingdom. There was no interest in him sharing his plans for the future with one of the other gods even if Fulo meant no harm to him. In due time they would all come to one day see the creation he desired to bring forth to the realm of Validore.

Stretching his hand out towards the sky the air around the palm of Iemis's hand began to shudder and pulse. Soft sounds of vibration could be heard from the earth below as the sky began to brighten up and shift in color. Under the light of the moon the entire kingdom raised their heads to the sky as everyone could see the beautiful gentle dancing of colors. It was like someone had pulled the very northern lights over the kingdom of Cista in the dead of the night. Those dead colorless eyes of Iemis kept their gaze up at the dancing lights as he could hear Fulo stepping closer to him.

"You don't want to tell me what you're doing, right?" Fulo could sense that Iemis was not willing to speak further about the things he had in store for the world in front of them. It was not something that surprised him in the slightest because Iemis never did care for communicating with the other gods unless the situation required him to do so.

"A god's will is not one which can be broken easily. A strong will.. would you not say it is one of our best qualities? As long as a god has a strong will and the heart to use that will for the right things in his lifetime would he not be like that of a masterpiece himself?" Iemis said as he slowly turned and began to walk off among the crowd.

Fulo wanted to speak further on the words that Iemis had just spoken but before his gaze could land on Iemis the man was no longer anywhere to be seen. As he quickly glanced around in an attempt to locate the suddenly vanished figure of Iemis there was no chance of him to be found. When it came to making himself scarce Iemis was one of the best at it. Iemis was capable of traversing the world in the blink of an eye as he wanted as though the world itself was something small in the palm of his hand. If it was not for the selfish desires of Iemis to slow his own pace down to enjoy the smallest of things, to the extent his capabilities were unknown to everyone below his power level, it could easily be imagined by the other gods that Iemis held the power to control the very world if he only desired it. That was not how Iemis viewed the world however and others could only hope for the man to never fall into a similar state of mind as Chynir.
