The Undead King (Part 2)

Zoe rushed as quickly as she could to the roof of a tall building near the others as they fought against the undead king on the ground level. She did not often use her abilities. From her looks most would see her as a young cat girl. Her yellow dress, shoulder length brown hair, cat ears and tail gave her the look of an innocent young girl. As she stood close to edge of the roof she could see everything going on down below.

Spreading her hands out before her she bowed her head and began to chant under her breath. Small balls of light no bigger then fire flies floating in the air around her body. Light was her skill. It was the type of mana that flowed throughout her body.

Take control of the light in the surrounding area.. make it her own. If it gave off a form of light, she had to take control of it.

The area filled with a vast blinding light that caused everyone to shield their eyes for a moment before glancing around to try and figure out what was going on.

The flames of the fiery streets began to calm and go out. All of the light swept through the air in the direction of Zoe until it hovered in the form of a ball. Breaking out and splitting in different directions until it collided together against the shield of the undead king. It was not enough to cause his defenses to break. Dirt flew up into the air as the ground beneath him split apart from the collision.

His hand shot up in the direction of Zoe sending a ball of pure mana straight for her. As the wave of purple mana struck the building it began to crumble where she stood. Her small body leaping to escape the fall as part of the roof went down. A loud boom resounding in the air.

"Zoe!" several of them called out to her as they saw her nearly escape the impact from the attack.

Vorbuk growled as a black mist began to escape his body. His eyes glowing a faint red as his mana began to pump harder within his body. The screams of the people filled his ears with the sounds of fighting from every direction.

At the same time as prince Leo's own quick movement to rush at the undead king Vorbuk followed. In a matter of seconds his quick paws had him side by side with the prince. His ears were perked straight up as his attention was on the task at hand.

CLANG!

The crown prince's sword collided with the barrier once again. But this time while the undead king was focused against the sword Vorbuk dove into the shadows.

In the time it took to blink his body was already mid air behind the undead king.

I need something more! More! Focus! Stronger! I must get stronger! Vorbuk thought over and over inside his head and he concentrated as hard as he could. He had to control his mana. If he had any hope of defeating the enemy before him he had to rely on himself to push past his current limitations. The only help he had was to push his magic further. He had to rely on his abilities to develop. No, he had to ensure they developed!

Control! I need to control my mana further! Now! He shouted at himself in the back of his mind as he felt the mana flowing throughout his body wildly. It was an unknown feeling that he had not felt before. But he had no other choice but to trust in his natural instincts to release his mana.

[ System Alert! New ability acquired: Dark Blast ]

Dark Blast. The moment Vorbuk thought the name in his head a wave of darkness shot out like a wave of pure force straight from his the wolf's chest. As it struck against the body of the undead king he shuddered where he stood. Trying to remain standing as he used his magic barrier to try and repel the wolf's magic.

While the wave of magic ended Vorbuk's paws landed against the barrier only to counter it's affect intentionally with his own feet in order to leap from it into the direction of a nearby carriage. Standing firm on the roof of the carriage as he bared his teeth at the enemy. A fierce growl escaping him as his eyes continued to glow a bright red. The attack had taken a large amount of mana but he was not willing to give up.

Shhnnngg! Kek!

Leo drove his sword straight through the stomach of the undead king.

The undead king's hand grasped the blade of prince Leo's sword with his hand. Holding it in his hand he let out a loud screeching sound and leaned in closer to the prince. There was a sense of rage in his aura as Leo tried to pull his sword back out. He could feel the blade wriggling about his undead body as the prince struggled to retrieve it from his grasp.

They were both caught off guard as a sword suddenly struck the undead king from behind. Isis had used her blade to take a clean stab at him from behind while he was distracted. Piercing him with yet a second blade.

Look out! Vorbuk wanted to call out to Isis but it was too late. It would have taken him too much time to shift in order to warn her of the incoming attack. He could only watch it happen from where he stood.

The undead king had raised his hand in her direction as he sent a wave of mana straight at Isis. Her body was sent flying. Roughly tumbling and rolling across the ground in pain. Weak groans from her aching body escaped her as she lay where she landed.

Leo managed to retrieve his sword only to swing once more at him. He struggled to keep his emotions in check.

Beams of light and arrows rained down in the direction of the undead king. With so many attacks coming at him together it was becoming difficult for him to hold his ground. He could not block so many elements at once. Occasionally an attack would break past his defense and strike at him. Things were becoming more complicated as time passed.

"Distract him! I will take care of the rest! I need his attention diverted!" Zoe shouted down at them from atop the rooftop.

The undead king was in fact... Undead. They could not kill him. It was simply impossible to kill an immortal at their current level. There was only one way to deal with something that was impossible to kill. She intended to exhaust all her left over mana while the others distracted him for one power move that would put herself at risk.

Looking around her she quickly found the nearest item that she felt would work for her intention. Picking it up she gazed down at the small stone for a moment. It was a piece of rubble from the crumbling building she stood on. It was dark and glossy looking from where the attack had struck it earlier, but it seemed strong and durable. With no other option the stone would have to work for her purpose.

That small stone would need to become the prison in which would hold the undead king. If they could not kill an immortal.. she could at least use her light magic to seal him away at all cost.
