Leo held out his hand as a firefly gently landed on his palm. A soft breeze blowing through the air as a familiar feeling came over him. This was a dream he was very familiar with. It was a dream that made his body run cold down to the bone. Having seen this same dream many times throughout his lifetime he had come to feel displeased at the beautiful scenery of this particular dream.
"Privacy has never been something you're good at, your majesty." Leo spoke in a cold tone.
"It is the only way we can communicate without.. unnecessary interruptions." The ice queen, Lyra, spoke in a beautiful voice as she wrapped her arms around him from behind.
"Shouldn't a lady act more appropriately?" Prince Leo shifted his body. His arm raising to knock her off of him so that he could step aside.
Queen Lyra exhaled her frustrations with a sigh. Her beauty was still something that could take a person's breath away at a glance. Standing with her hand pulled up close to her lips gave off the air of seduction. It was hard to tell if she was trying to rope him in or think deeply about something on her mind.
"You're never as fun as your brother." Lyra clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth after speaking words that strangely felt like a dagger. The prince had no interest in her but that did not mean the words would not hurt.
"My brother?" Leo asked curiously.
"Of course," She leaned in close as she reached out her hand and brushed the prince's hair aside with her hand. "he is much easier to deal with."
SLAP!
"Leave him out of your twisted fantasies!" Leo shouted as he slapped her hand away from his face.
"... Really? But I am already very much involved in his life. I have been since long ago. I did not come here for him." Queen Lyra smiled as she took a few steps away from him. Her head tilted to the side so that Prince Leo could observe her expressions carefully from where he stood. As the cold wind blew her hair looked as if it was being swept about waves.
"What do you mean-?" Prince Leo thought about it and soon realized that something was wrong. A cold feeling was starting to take over his body slowly. While breathing he had begun to see his breath. "What are you doing?!"
"I wonder which would happen faster? You removing yourself from this dream.. or me killing you in it?" Queen Lyra walked close to the prince and whispered into his ear. "It is a pity you wont accept joining me because you would make a beautiful trophy of war."
"Go to-" Leo was cut off before he could finish his insult. She was not interested in hearing him insult her further. Every time they came across each other she felt like he did nothing but insult her. Prince Leo was fully aware of the fact that he did it because he did it intentionally.
If someone was interested in you they would have to be insane! Prince Leo wanted to scream those words right at her face but refrained to simply thinking them instead.
"Yes! Yes! Enough of that. I was only here to offer you one last chance but my mood has been ruined already." Lyra pouted with a twist of her hips as she leaned against his chest.
A cold rush covered him as he winced in pain. A layer of ice covering his body where she leaned. Feeling uncomfortable he struggled to breath from the sudden frozen sensation. Struggling to keep his balance where he stood his hand slid up against Lyra's side.
The feeling of his warm hand against her side caused the queen's face to flush slightly at his unexpected action.
"F-!" Leo muttered something under his breath. The sound of his voice was so quiet that it was impossible to understand what he was saying. Heaving heavily as he struggled to breath because the coldness was slowly making him go weak.
"Huh?" Lyra tilted her head as she tried to hear what it was the prince was trying to say.
"Fireball-!" Leo shouted with what strength he could muster up.
Flame burst forth from the palm of his hand right into her side. The shock of the sudden burst of fire sent her body flying. Water from the thawed ice dripping to the ground along the way she was sent.
The second Lyra was away from him Leo gasped for his breath after the heavy weight of the cold was gone. His eyes glaring in the direction that the Queen had gone. Trees had been shattered from her continuous impacts but he did not have the strength to worry about how far he had sent her.
"Are you crazy?! I offer you a choice but are you so intent on going to war against us that you must over react and attack me?!" Lyra shouted as she stumbled forward from the damaged trees. Her clothes were dirty and ripped from the attack.
"I think you've seriously mistaken something here.." Leo spoke firmly. His words caused Queen Lyra to quiet down. She wanted to know what he would say to her because it was rare for the prince to get such a serious expression on his face.
"It's my dream world your in! GET OUT NOW!" Leo shouted with all his might. Filled with determination to wake up from the nightmare he was currently in.
The illusion around them began to shatter like glass from all around. He knew the world was collapsing and that he would soon wake up. Before things could completely vanish he shot his hand forth in Queen Lyra's direction and shouted once more. "FIREBALL!"
"A beautiful parting gift." The prince smirked.
----
Prince Leo's body jumped forward so that he was sitting. Glancing around him he could see the puzzled expressions of everyone around him. A moment ago he had been asleep while they were waking up to prepare to head out.
I hope I didn't talk in my sleep last night.. Prince Leo worried about what to say if someone asked him questions about the strange dream. It was not a topic he enjoyed bringing up. In fact he had never spoken to anyone about the way the queen enjoyed harassing him in his dreams.
"Are you ready to head out, your highness?" Daryl asked in his direction. He could tell that the prince was acting a bit strange. However he was not one to pry into personal matters.
"Yes!" Prince Leo smiled as if nothing happened last night and stood up. To his side he saw Vorbuk sitting with his ears pinned back. "Let's go!"
The Prince was not even aware that Lyra too had awoken and was cursing his name in her palace chambers.. Her body drenched in water from head to toe from the heat of the fire in the dream world. Since her mana was of the ice variety their clash in the dream had caused her to feel as though she had been melting in her sleep. It felt like someone had just tried to burn her alive.
