Chynir sat in a dining chair. A delicious steak meal in front of him. Cutting the meat carefully as he raised a piece up. Taking the bite of steak in his mouth he felt relaxed.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
He could hear drastic footsteps approaching the door to the dining room.
BANG!
The door to the room slammed open roughly. Beside the door princess Isis stood while panting from her rush over here. She looked exhausted and flushed. Not taking into note her own exhaustion as she rushed into the room.
As soon as she flung the door open without thinking Chynir released part of his aura. The princess collapsed to her knees as she panted for air. Sweat dripped from her forehead as she tried to calm her own nerves down. Her own emotions had over taken her causing her to barge into the room without thinking straight.
"How.. How could you send father to wake that man?" Princess Isis understood that a war was beyond her capabilities to prevent. Her father was bound to die. But if he died in the hands of that man when he woke up it would be a death beyond horrifying.
"I needed someone to send. That man must be hungry after sleeping for such a long time." Chynir simply did not care if the king lived or not. The king should not be alone while waking that thing so there is no guarantee he will die so early. Even if he did he was just a pawn that could be replaced.
"You.." Isis had tears in her eyes as she knew there was no point in arguing with Chynir. The god did not have a limit to how cruel he could become.
The Executioner was a pure blooded vampire of Drethia. Among vampires he could still be considered young and gave off the appearance of a young man physically. Reality of his age was that he was hundreds of years old already.
The name the young vampire earned for himself was not without reason. Having lost his family at a young age and being experimented on the child began to lash out. Eventually slaughtering the entire building that had abused him. From the floor to the ceiling had been a bloody massacre.
After escaping covered in blood the young vampire slaughtered any living thing that approached him. Eventually being coerced into a bond with the Drethia Royal family he became known as one of the Drethia Kingdom's guardians to the royal palace.
However The Executioner was too dangerous to be allowed in public. He was kept underground working as the Drethia palace's torturer and executioner. Everyone rumored that it was because The Executioner had a thirst for blood that they placed him there. Until one day The Executioner ran away from the palace.
Unable to reach an agreement between The Executioner and the Drethia Palace to return. Theapan Kingdom accepted a deal with the vampire known as The Executioner. They would protect his tomb as he built one in their mountains. He would slumber in his coffin peacefully.
In return Theapan Kingdom would not be harmed by him. It was unknown why someone rumored to so heavily desire blood would suddenly want to enter a long slumber among the peaceful mountains. It was beyond the current royal family's time so they could not be aware of everything that went on to cause Theapan Kingdom to protect a slumbering vampire.
A person's motivation and desires are their own. Not even a god can determine what drives a mortal forward.
"You are only alive because your father is useful to me. Do not mistake yourself as important. You are nothing more then a burden for the king." Chynir scoffed at the princess's behavior in front of him.
Struggling to back out of the room in tears princess Isis left. Running down the hallway as she tried to calm her nerves down. There was nothing she could do for her father's sake. She understood how little influence she had compared to her father, the king. Nobody including herself could go against a choice made by someone as strong as a god.
When she closed her eyes the image of Vorbuk flashed through her mind. Her fist clenching against her chest as she thought about what to do.
"Princess, where are you going?" A servant called out when they saw her rushing towards the direction of the stables.
"I'm just going to get some fresh air." Princess Isis said with a smile on her face to mask the pain she felt in her heart. She could not allow the servants to worry about her. They could even take any mistake in her actions to keep her from leaving.
"The king did not want you going off on your own. Shall I call a knight to go with you?" The servant asked with persistence. Even if the servant did trust the princess to return they could not go against the king's order and allow her to leave without someone watching her.
"Very well," The princess could not refuse if she wanted to get out of the palace. "thank you."
It did not take the servant long to find a knight to guide the princess outside the palace. A couple horses were quickly collected and saddled up to ride. They did not take much with them because the princess was trying to show them that she intended to return before long. She could not tell them what her real purpose for leaving the palace was.
Leaving the palace she was carefully considering her options. She did not want to harm the knight for no reason. As long as she could find a way to safely loose him after they got outside the palace a safe distance she could go her own way. There was somewhere she wanted to go.
She wanted to see the person that came to her mind in her time of need. At the end of things Vorbuk could be considered the enemy to her family. In the war he was the person that was meant to kill her father even if she couldn't blame him. But at the same time when her heart ached he was the first person that came to mind.
The Executioner was not someone who left his victims in one piece when he killed. No matter what side she stood on her father would die in the end. If she had to put her hope in someone she wanted to put her faith in herself and choose what made her happy. It might not be perfect and it might even be painful but she had to try.
Clip. Clop. Clip. Clop.
The sounds of the horse hooves against the ground could be heard as they galloped along the streets of Theapan's capital. Heading closer to the gates out of the city.
Having escaped Theapan once before she knew the guard would be weary of her every action. That would not be enough to hold her down. The princess of Theapan was one that spent her life dreaming about freedom. The palace had never truly felt like a home to her because she had never had a close relationship with her own family. She also had no desire in the throne or power. She spent most of her days sneaking in and out of the palace past the guards.
