Aoki began to struggle back against the chains that bound him against the ground. The more he fought against them the more tenacious they were. Tightening further as he felt a sense of burning against his skin. They were not normal chains. Since they were made from strong light magic they gave a painful burning sensation whenever they came into contact with Aoki's skin.
"Bredret, hold him!" Vorbuk called out to the dragon.
Everyone was rushing over to where the executioner was. At the center of the magic circle they all began to gather. Bredret reacted to Vorbuk's words by rushing straight to Aoki. Kicking the vampire where he lay, Bredret took his knee and pressed down onto the back of the vampire with heavy pressure. He was not going to give Aoki a chance to struggle against him. His hand grasping the back of Aoki's head and pressing down.
"How dare you!" Aoki wanted to put up a struggle. He wanted to swear at this dragon bad. Unable to speak any further the vampire felt his face being pressed into the dirt. The dragon did not want to hear him speak so he was muffled further by the pressure on the back of his head becoming heavier. Bredret was not allowing Aoki to speak to him.
"Are you trying to suffocate him?" Ashley whispered the question to Bredret while walking up behind him. To him it looked like the dragon was trying to smother the vampire to death.
Bredret noticed that Ashley had returned and looked in the direction of Vorbuk and the prince, Leo. They were talking with Damien about the situation. The man was preparing the things he needed to help Vorbuk mark the executioner. It was impossible to guarantee how things would turn out afterwards.
"I made a mistake." Bredret sighed half heartily.
"What do you mean?" Ashley was confused.
"I thought he was you for a second." Bredret glanced back in Ashley's direction. The meaning behind his words were obvious. Fuck. Off. The dragon was not interested in conversing with Ashley.
Ashley knew that the dragon was not serious. Feeling a cold chill down his spine. It did not matter if he was serious or not because Bredret could easily make someone feel uncomfortable. Bredret had no intention on pretending to be kind with Ashley. Looking for a way out of this situation, Ashley quickly looked for Vorbuk.
"Master~!" Ashley's face lit up with a bright smile as he fled Bredret's side to return to Vorbuk.
Smack!
Vorbuk swatted away Ashley right before he could hug him. The vampire was in a slight daze for a moment but quickly recovered. Neither of them would say a word but they both knew that Ashley's over-affectionate side was only a beautiful mask. It was difficult for even Ashley himself to know when he was being honest with his own emotions or pretending. That was his way of survival so far, therefore, Vorbuk would not question him about it. However Vorbuk had no intention to let Ashley get carried away with it.
"Get started, quickly." Vorbuk ignored Ashley and spoke to Damien.
"Yes, sir." Damien's expression was full of exhaustion as he realized how close he was to the executioner. It made his forehead sweat.
The process was simple and yet one that not many could do. A special kind of ink was used to draw the magic seal with a kind of clear ink. If the person drawing it was inexperienced they would have a difficult time doing it. That was so those who were capable of drawing the seal was less likely to spread outside of those licensed to legally draw the seal for the twelve kingdoms.
This ink was also special made to help in the sealing process. Allowing the master's special mark to be displayed once the master-servant bond was formed. With that a servant would always be identifiable by others on who they served if the mark was seen. For a slave who wanted to be taken in by a master, like Ashley, the process can be hardly painful at all or not painful at all. When the slave held no ill will towards their master it meant they would not feel pain.
"Ready!" Damien called out to Vorbuk once the seal was ready for Vorbuk to mark Aoki.
Aoki was not the same as Ashley. Since his rationality was currently difficult to reach all he could think about was fighting. As Vorbuk poured his mana into the servants brand that Damien had drawn his body began to feel hot. It was like a fire was burning inside of him as he began to groan. He bared his fangs as he struggled against that feeling.
"Aarrghhh!" Aoki shouted in pain.
The vampire's entire body was shuddering from head to toe. With a dark expression on his face he screamed in pain. It felt like his entire body was being ripped apart. This was due to the servants mark that had been placed on him. When the mark bond was formed it was one that gave the master control over the servants life and death. It was a connection that was created through their souls using magic.
Since Aoki wanted to act violently towards his master as soon as the bond was created the seal reacted. Aoki's soul was being cruelly attacked by the seal as if warning him. It was more painful then anything Aoki had ever endured throughout his lifetime. With bloodshot eyes he coughed up a handful of blood.
Aoki could feel the weight of Bredret getting off of him and stepping aside. The process was coming to an end. No longer requiring Bredret to hold down the vampire.
Vorbuk stepped away once the process was done. His expression was difficult to read. The others glanced between Vorbuk and Prince Leo waiting for further instruction on what they should do. All they could do was wait and see how things turned out.
"What should we do with him?" Prince Leo asked.
"At least he lived." Vorbuk stated.
Aoki wanted to yell at all of them. He wanted to kill them all hearing those words they spoke. Knowing what they had done to him. There was also the incredible hunger and desperation he felt. It was too much for him to handle. All those feelings exploding inside of him while he glared at Vorbuk.
The pain he felt as he collapsed to the ground was the worst thing he had ever felt. His eyes closing as he succumbed to the pain. Falling unconscious in the temple yard as the bright golden light faded away.
"He's alive." Vorbuk muttered while kneeling to check Aoki's breathing. "We should move him somewhere else to deal with him."
"You can use father's room." Priestess Mai spoke up.
"You..." Vorbuk felt like he heard something strange. "Want me to bring him inside the pope's room?"
"Would you prefer leaving him around everyone else? Father wont mind." Priestess Mai said.
Turning their heads they could see Johan Lovette in the distance at the wall still working. He was giving orders to his men when he heard someone mention his name from a distance. Since his daughter was working with the others to catch Aoki there was no way he could not pay attention to what the others were doing.
"What?" Pope Johan Lovette shouted when he heard them mentioning him from a distance.
"Nothing, father, I love you!" Priestess Mai waved at her father.
I don't think he'd agree to this one. Vorbuk and everyone else had the same thought at the same time. Somehow, it seemed like the priestess was just doing what she wanted in this situation.
