Vorbuk stepped through the doors as Ashley opened them for him. A black fog fading in around him before fading right away to expose his human form. Walking towards the throne he could feel the many gazes on him as they all lowered themselves into a respectful bow.
"His Majesty, King Vorbuk has arrived." Ashley called out to those in the throne room as he watched his master enter. It was the place where kings held their important meetings and Vorbuk had to follow in this. However that did not mean he wouldn't still have private talks with others outside of the throne room.
Those inside the throne room were nobles of Theapan. Most of them were in fact werewolves as most of Theapan's population was made up of them. They were people that Vorbuk was still growing to recognize and understand. It would be impossible for him to ignore the nobles of his own territory. When he fought in wars in the future, they would need to be aware of the situation as well. He could not exclude the high ranking nobles that helped run the kingdom from plans that would deeply impact the kingdom.
Others in the crowd gathered were those outside the nobles of Theapan that would aid in the future developments for Vorbuk. King Micah was one of them that gathered in the throne room. Alongside them was Priestess Mai, Vorbuk's group, and Guild Master Seon. Vorbuk had his own reasons for inviting the guild master to the meeting. The only one that was not present at the time was Aoki because he had been ordered to keep watch on any actions made by Duke Heket while he was on his way out of the palace.
"Rise." Vorbuk said to them with a stern tone as he sat down on the throne. He felt strange seeing them all bowing to him out of respect. It was a sign of respect as a ruler that he had not yet gotten use to in his short months as king. In the future he knew he would need to accept it as it would be a common sight in his future in this world.
"Your majesty, you do not really intend to work with Duke Heket do you?" A noble suddenly spoke up from them. They all knew that the duke was from the Drethia Kingdom and that in the future they would be enemies of Drethia. There new king was not intending to follow the same god like the previous king had done.
"For the time being he will be kept out of all information regarding our kingdom," Vorbuk spoke as he saw a bit tension leave quite a few of the nobles that had been worried about their king getting close with the duke, "However, we can not make enemies with the duke right now."
"Your majesty-?!" Another noble started to speak up.
"Silence." Vorbuk ordered as he knew it would be bad to let them linger on the matter of the duke.
"General Daryl," Vorbuk called out as he turned his sight to the one he would need to put to work first, "prepare the knights and send scouts to Brolan."
"We're going after Brolan?" "The dwarven kingdom?"
Whispers began to escape the nobles in the throne room as they heard their king's orders for Daryl.
"Do you intend to take the throne?" Daryl asked him for further understanding.
"Brolan is a small kingdom that covets a mountain. It is useless to have a king ruling over a mountain." Vorbuk did not want the palace and throne of Brolan. It was a drwarven palace and the territory was not that large. The dwarf population in Brolan was also not a large number.
What gave Brolan their strength was not their number of people. It was the fact that dwarves were talented craftsmen. Craftsmen would be valuable to Vorbuk in the future.
"Pardon?" Daryl was confused when he heard that reply. He knew they were going to attack another enemy kingdom. What did Vorbuk mean by those words?
"We will be capturing those who surrender from the dwarven king's territory." Vorbuk stated bluntly.
"Capturing them? You want to bring the dwarves into Theapan?" Daryl felt like he was understanding Vorbuk's idea more clearly.
Vorbuk grinned as he answered, "Would they not become important in the future for the development of the territory?"
Not only would the dwarves be able to help in making better equipment for the knights. Dwarves would also be able to help the people themselves develop further in the future. It would benefit in more aspects then just the battlefield. It felt like the most valuable and obtainable goal for Theapan at the time.
"If we take over Brolan Kingdom next we will be on the border of Cadirade and Ethiadan..." Prince Leo's mutter could be heard from the side. Leo naturally stood close to the throne from the side of it.
This action only showed the nobles how close the two of them were. They also felt they could not under estimate the servant, Ashley, who stood behind the throne. Nor General Daryl who stood on the other side. Between the four of them they looked like no different from a group of tyrants plotting a war.
"Once we have the mountain under our control we will be attracting more attention from your brother-" Vorbuk wanted to verify that the prince would be able to handle it when Curtis put more attention on him. It would not be easy to go up against family when the time came.
"I will be alright." Prince Leo replied before he could finish.
Vorbuk simply nodded and did not pry further as he called out, "Seon."
"Yes, your majesty?" Guild Master Seon's bunny ears twitched at the sound of his name being called. To call his name out Seon could only hope that it would be something that would be worth it. The guild master did not work for free even if he had agreed to aid Vorbuk by taking over the guild in Theapan.
"You will need to take over the care of the dwarves when they are brought over. I will discuss this matter further with you at a later time. Things will need to be prepared in advance." Vorbuk said to Seon as he felt he could not find anyone better to take care of them.
"I understand, your majesty." Seon responded as he glanced around the room. He knew that it was not appropriate to discuss private matters about his task in front of the others. It was something best kept til later to discuss.
The meeting with the nobles continued on for some time. They discussed King Vorbuk's intention to take control of Brolan Kingdom and merge the dwarves into Theapan. It was not necessary for the continent to have the kingdom of Broland. When the dwarves merged into Theapan there would be one less kingdom in the future but the people would be given a better chance at having a positive growth with the knowledge in craftsmanship that they had to offer.
In the past the dwarves were forced to live in solitude. Other races looked down on the dwarves for being small and weak since they were surrounded by Ethiadan, Yiven, and Theapan who would pressure the dwarves into serving the same god as them. They were forced to choose the safest route for survival of their kingdom and people.
Vorbuk wanted to give the dwarves a chance at properly joining the world of other mortals outside their mountain that kept them apart from others. It was something the dwarves of Brolan never had in the past. The eastern side of the continent was too fierce for the dwarves to go off on their own carelessly. In the western side of the continent life was more peaceful so it was common to find random dwarves when you traveled however it was simply not the case for Brolan.
