After almost four hours of walking Reus started to realize a few things.

First of all, this wasn't the exact same world that he knew. At most, it was a very good imitation. Why did he know that? A scale. While 'Secrets of Origin' was an enormous game, and it's locations were similarly massive, it was a far cry from his current situation. After these many hours of travelling, he didn't even catch a glimpse of the border of the inner sanctuary, not to mention the entirety of a forest.

Second of all, any other person in a similar situation, would be screwed. He lost count of how many times his traits focused on keeping him alive: 'Seer', 'Child of Heavens' and 'One with the World' saved his ass. Both from terrifyingly powerful beasts rushing toward the source of heavenly power, and from those who were running away from it, afraid of ensuing confrontation. First trait warned him of incoming danger, second showed him the direction of where should he hide, and if the first two failed the last one was a good reasons for those beasts to give up on the small passing snack. Although maybe the biggest role of all played 'Touched by the Void'. In mysterious way this trait influenced his mind in critical moments, keeping him from losing his cool, and once the tension went away from losing his mind.

And finally, the third of all. Even with his cheatlike set of traits, he has barely any chance of making it out of the danger zone alive. His low physical stats were slowing him down more and more; his luck will finally run out forcing him to use his almost nonexistent combat capability; even though a spiritual lifeform turned material like himself, required far less sustenance in form of sleep and food than others, he needed at least a little; finally even though his sense of direction was aided by his past memories and trait 'Child of a Heavens', it was not enough to safely get him out.

Currently, Reus was laying down in the bush, making friends with a bunch of insects while having a staring match with a gigantic lizard looking like a burly crocodile.

[Boros] - level 103

This was all the information once he tried to scan it. Although he didn't have a recollection of this creature, the fact that it has a name meant it's a unique being with an intelligence comparable to a human. And judging by its behavior Boros was hungry. It was showing its teeth, swaying tail and releasing a menacing siss. It has almost immediately ignored the aura of friendship surrounding Reus as a result of his trait 'One with the World'. If not for Boros's advanced intelligence causing him to be suspicious of the weird circumstances it would attack already.

Then three things happened simultaneously. Reus rolled quickly to the side, Boros spat his tongue like a whip into the place Reus was previously, and a group of shadows jumped out of the forest onto the lizard.

Reus only managed to catch a glimpse of a closest shadow,

[Silver kissed wolf] - level 71

before he hurried into the forest, not caring about direction or an epic battle ensuing behind him.

He ran without stopping, or any awareness. The only thing he somewhat noticed was eerie silence surrounding him. This only caused him to double his efforts and push himself beyond his limits.

What he didn't realize, was that at the moment the pack of wolves attacked Boros, dozens of smaller and bigger scuffles was erupting all over the inner sanctuary of forest. Death toll, however was not that big. Until now the inner sanctuary was a special, peaceful place. None of the beasts wanted to break this custom with unnecessary deaths. However in some cases the source of a heavenly power had simply too much of an allure.

Eventually, he collapsed. He took deep breaths trying to calm his aching lungs. Actually he wasn't sure if his current anatomy matched that of a human, so it could be only phantom pains forced by his mind. After his pondering, Reus realized that his status suddenly took a turn for better, so without thinking about it anymore he looked up.

There in small space left by the branches of trees he saw that the sky was beginning to turn dark. Deciding that travelling by night in this forest was pushing his already overused luck too much, he started climbing the nearest tree intending to rest atop it.

It was surprisingly easy. In his past life he didn't climb many trees, but he knew it was never this easy. Especially since he's currently maybe 130 cm in shoes. Yet the process couldn't be any simpler. While it was obviously not true he received the sensation as if the tree was reforming itself to ease his climb. Whenever he reached his hand he found a place to grab a hold of even though he didn't spot any earlier; whenever he felt a bit shaky and felt himself falling, he found a branch touching his back, as if to support him. Accompanied by this weird, yet wonderful feeling he steadily made it to the top, finding there, a strangely wide and comfortable branch. Smiling lightly Reus put a hand to the trunk of the tree muttering a quiet "Thank you." he could swear that at this moment tone of the leaves rustle changed as if to reply him.

After that he straightened up, putting his upper body above the treeline. Powerful wind hitting his face. He closed his eyes, curling his lips into a content smile. This gentle sensation washing all the exhaustion from the entirety of a prior day. He stayed like this for a while, until a distant roar reminded him of the severity of the situation.

After looking around, he realized he already sees in the distance border of the inner sanctuary. This part of a forest was actually located in a circular valley more than hundred meters deep. It was like an entirely different floor of a forest.

After sighing tiredly, Reus sat on his branch and closed his eyes.

"Status."

What greeted him was unexpected, yet deeply welcome notification.

*As you touched upon the physical limits of your body you receive bonus to your stats*

Strength + 2

Dexterity + 1

Constitution + 3

"Breaking your limits, huh? We tried to implement similar mechanic in a game but it was bugged like hell. But the raise to stats shouldn't be this high of a percentage either way. I guess that's the growth modificator from the racial trait. A hundred more of these and maybe I can manage to get out of this forest."

He ignored the rest of the status he focused on a tab he left untouched before. 'Inventory'.

Although he didn't expect much from it, he was still a bit curious about it. Yet for the second time since opening the status he received a pleasant surprise.

First of all it was the space available for storage. It was unlimited. In the case of a game it was possible to unlock such storage, but it first required levelling space magic to the max with few additional traits. Although it sounds easy, in the history of the game less than a thousand people achieved it. Among millions of players. Also it was available as a premium content, but for some reason not many people were interested in it. The other such case was during alpha tests since many people complained constantly. It was definitely a great thing, even more than the previous limit break.

The second surprise was the fact that his inventory wasn't empty. Sure there were regular clothes and iron dagger that he still wears. But beside it there was a very special item - 'Premium pack - level 1'.

"More of a premium content, I see. Come to think of it, this bratty goddess seemed like a big fan of those."

Realizing that thinking about Ana, caused his mood to drop, he quickly focused back on the pack. He didn't remember how expensive it was, but after purchasing option containing it, on several level benchmarks you acquire a bonus box containing few items useful on this stage of the game. He pressed it to open.

*You acquire:*

1x cartographer kit

3x healing salve (basic)

12x basic rations

200 Arons

"A little less than expected but it's fine. Healing solutions and food are definitely useful. It's obviously always nice to get some money. I guess that's the reason there aren't so many items since these packs don't usually contain any coin. But to receive a cartographer's kit is a real stroke of luck. So timely it's almost creepy."

Feeling a wave of exhaustion, he closed inventory and his eyes, deciding to take a short nap.
