Chapter 6: Encounter

Gu Jin blinked in surprise. She seemed to have landed on a firm wall, but that wall had some warmth. Her waist was caught by a pair of cold hands, and an attractive fragrance lingered in the air…Gu Jin's face was flushed red. Since she wasn't able to eat breakfast this morning, her body felt uncomfortable and she wasn't able to get for a while.

After a few seconds…

"Miss, can you get up?" A man helplessly said as his deep and magnetic voice resounded in her ear.

Although his tone may sound normal, even mild, somehow, Gu Jin could sense a faint distaste in his words. Her feet regained its sensations and her weak body suddenly gained strength. She stood up reflexively, turned around and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that."

After she spoke, Gu Jin's gaze lingered when she saw the man's face.

He was a tall man, around one meter and 9 centimeters in height (6.2 ft). Even when Gu Jin wore high heels, she could only reach up to his shoulders. A wisp of messy hair fell on his forehead; he wore gold glasses and a silver suit, giving him the impression of a refined man. He has followed six men who stood behind him without expression.

"No matter," he nodded and fixed his glasses.

Meanwhile, the other person who bumped into Gu Jin also realized that he had pushed someone by accident. When he turned around and saw Gu Jin's face, his eyes suddenly widened in surprise and he quickly apologized, "I'm sorry Miss, are you alright? Do you need to go to the hospital for a checkup?"

"No, it's okay." Gu Jin avoided his pudgy hand and politely refused his 'kindness' to send her to the hospital.

This round man was the one who bumped into her. When he saw Gu Jin's upright posture and her expensive clothing, his well-trained eyes concluded at a glance that she was someone he couldn't afford to offend. After being rejected, he didn't dare to entangle further so he walked away with regret.

Just then, Shao Chong came by and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Someone bumped into me and I almost fell."

"Are you injured anywhere?" He nervously stretched out his hand to help her up.

"No." Gu Jin shook her head and made no effort to take his hand.

Shao Chong unconsciously felt a sense of responsibility to fulfill his role as her boyfriend. After examining her from head to toe and finding nothing wrong, he finally sighed relief.

At this time, the sun had risen quite high and the weather was getting even hotter. Gu Jin still felt slight panic after being thrown off guard earlier. "It's getting late, so let's go in. Let's not make Cheng Xin wait any longer."

As Gu Jin hurried, she inadvertently glanced at the tall, handsome man in the distance.

As he spoke to the men around him, his posture was noticeably upright and confident and his lips were raised to an elegant smile; when he walked, his firm muscles and long legs added to his attractive figure.

Feeling that someone was staring at him, the man raised his brow slightly. He laughed and continued to talk to his men, but hidden underneath those gold glasses, his sharp eyes had accurately glanced at her direction.

This man is very dangerous!

Gu Jin's heart skipped a beat and a warning alarm sounded in her mind. She quickly lowered her head and avoided the man's stare.

To block his line of sight, Gu Jin hurriedly stood behind Shao Chong.

While her heart was in turmoil, she began to wonder why the novel had not mentioned such a man who was much more outstanding than the male lead.
