Stuck in a weird place

Clyde felt that he was suspended in a warm liquid. "I'm still alive?" he thought followed by "but where am I?" question as he asked himself. He tried to open his eyes but it was all for naught. He tried to hear things but only silence answered him. However, Clyde did not give up, he tried and tried to open his eyes while trying to hear something but all he felt was drowsiness. Darkness then came towards him as he eventually slept.

This repeatedly happened which turned into a cycle. Him waking up then tries to open his eyes and to hear something but eventually could not. He feels his eyelids were weighing too heavy for him to open. Clyde just felt that he should better rest and think about other things. It is frustrating to do something over and over again without any gains. He focused about more important things as of now, his situation for example.

"How could I still be possibly alive? Well, for a fact, I know I hit the hood of the car that hit me and with my own estimate that the car's velocity was around 5 m/s approximately. I should be dead, way more than dead, since I would have 3 possible conditions that caused it. Head Trauma, Massive blood loss and also Organ failure due to the crushed organs when the car hit me. So theoretically I should be dead... Right?" Clyde barrages himself with his own questions then followed by his observations.

"Oh wait, I guess possible answers are related to metaphysics. Hmmm... What could it be? Reincarnation? As they say in Hinduism, I would be either a plant or an animal depending on what I did on my past life. I guess if I would be a plant I either have phytochemical elements of polyphenol, terpenes, nicotine or caffeine since these constituents enhance cognitive development or brain function from one way or another.

Maybe I'm an animal, I could be either a dolphin since they have high intelligence or maybe cephalopods like octopus or squid since they have brains similar with humans that have folded lobes and distinct regions for visual processing and tactile information." Then he pondered.

"But I think I'm not a plant. I could feel limbs it's just that I can't move them either like my eyes. I could feel like it's the same with anatomy of man. Then I'm not an animal either? Then that's a big no for the reincarnation concept of Hinduism. Back to the topic, how many limbs do I have? One... two... three... four... Four? Phew. That's a relief, I was worried for a while there because there could be a cell mutation occurring. I don't dislike people with more limbs or less limbs but the inconvenience is bothering. I guess I'm still a normal human then?" Rapid thoughts flashed by but then he was overwhelmed by relief and was again succumbed to sleep.

This happened in a repeated manner. He even thought that he is in an alternate reality. "Then the multi-world theory is true then? What world am I included? What should be the deviation it has compared with earth?" Questions like these keep Clyde company. He even though of concepts like travelling back in time, being an unknown life form also known as 'Extra-terrestrial beings', or even the concept of transmigrating from the online novels he read. With that he asked himself "Then what world is this? Could I have a new identity here?" These questions passed by his thoughts.

Living like this, Clyde is surprisingly not bored. He finds his circumstance as fascinating that he considers himself as a living scientific evidence. An evidence of the theories that he proposed which could be possibly happening right now. With an IQ of 174 paired with an eidetic memory, all Clyde could do was occupy his thoughts with his previous knowledge than to think of frustrating things like on how does he open his eyes and when could he hear something.

"Am I deaf?" he was worried for a while but he thought that maybe he is in an isolated space. He spent the past three months suspended in the warm liquid while the only thing he does is sleep and relearn what he studied before. What could he do? He was bored after exhausting all possible scenarios of his circumstance in his mind. However, something changed when his time being suspended in the warm liquid turned to four months.

After a long while, he can finally hear things! Well, partly hearing, because all he can hear are muffles of voices and sounds all over. They sound so faint that if he didn't stay in a place so silent and did not focus on hearing them, he was afraid he wouldn't hear them. "I'm not in an isolated space then, because I could hear voices meaning there are people nearby, let me try calling them" He tried to speak but he forgot that besides the inability to open his eyes, he could not speak nor open his mouth. "Okay here we go again, I think I'm in an isolated space however I could still hear things, but trying something futile without any gains is exhausting. I give up. Let me just try to hear what those sounds are" he thought while focusing on the sounds.

The sounds were not that loud and he could not clearly hear it but he tries to deduct what it is from the vague noise. "Sounds like a muffled voice... I think it's a male one... Is he trying to say something to me?" Clyde thought. He continued to hear the sounds until it lullabies him to sleep.

He hears the sounds repeatedly, but not so often. Clyde thinks that he speaks in intervals because sometimes he hears a woman' s voice but what she wants to say were not that clear due to it being muffled. He sometimes different pitch of voices, and Clyde concluded that there were 2 women and 3 men.

How could he differentiate them? Simple. "How they speak are different but I think they all have the same things to say since all of them speak in a repeatedly manner of tone" Clyde concluded in his thoughts. Sometimes he even hears vague beats and vibrations which he thinks is music, but then again, he wondered, "Where am I?".

From his observations, he concluded 3 things, he is in an Isolated place, the walls are thin or maybe the door allows sound in? Either way this let him hears muffled sounds and lastly, he is alone. From how long he has been in here he hasn't heard or felt anyone's presence. He even wondered why he haven't felt hunger. "Maybe it is due to the warm liquid that surrounds me? It should similar to dextrose or something similar to the chemical formula of glucose. Hmmm... interesting." Clyde thought.

2 months flashed in a blink of an eye. Why did Clyde feel so? "It's interesting. Immersed in these muffled sounds help me in calming down. I can think more better of my past knowledge now, anyways, I still remember most of my lessons thanks to my eidetic memory. In these past 6 months I've reviewed and strengthened my foundation in the lessons from my grade school until high school. Well... I still remember all my lessons in Chemistry and Physics due to it being what I recently studied." Clyde exclaimed.

"Wait... I feel something weird. My ears? No... Limbs? I can't move it that much. Is it...? My eyes! I can open them now! Yes!" Clyde suddenly exclaimed in his thoughts. He hurriedly opens his eyes but shut it again. Only seeing darkness for almost 6 months made him unaccustomed to light. Slowly opening his eyes, Clyde sees blurry flashes of lights. Again, he closes his eyes and opened them again. "Can I really see now?" Clyde excitedly thought.

"I seem to be in a space where light could be found. However. it seems to be filtered? Maybe The walls are thin so the light and the sounds can pass through it... So that's why. Well, before anything, let me check my body..." Clyde thought but what he saw made him exclaim loudly in his mind. "What??? Why are my limbs so small? Wait, no... My body is the small one... What is happening?" he pondered when a horrible thought came into mind. "Am I..... Am I a baby?!" Shock filled Clyde's mind that made him pause all his thoughts. Opening his eyes again, he looked at his limbs and rechecked if he really is a baby.

"Small Arms, small feet, small fingers, warm liquid, suspended, and connected to the umbilical cord, all check. Sigh am I really a baby? Well, technically speaking, I'm still a fetus." Clyde thought after calming down. Clyde actually expected something weird in his situation but he just never thought that he will go back on a womb! Who would have thought that curses like those would come true anyways?

After accepting his situation, Clyde planned what he should do from now on. "So, calculating from the time I was here, I've been here for 6 months, meaning, the person who is bearing me as her baby is already 6 months pregnant? Well this situation explains about the lights I saw, the sounds I hear, and the gradual changes I feel when it comes to my hearing and now my sight. So technically, I should prepare when I will be born and the things I should do after. I guess I'll fulfill all the things I haven't accomplished in my past life." He concluded.

For the next 3 months, Clyde prepared for his birth. From body training, studies he should pursue and also his dream, which is travelling all around the world. He may have been plenty of countries due to seminars, conferences and competitions he attended but Clyde wanted to go travel for the purpose of travelling and nothing else. Also, during the 1st week after he got his eyesight, Clyde was able to move his limbs, albeit slightly. He can move them bit by bit but he felt that it may hurt for the one bearing him. Until his day of birth, Clyde recollected all his memories on combat training, body strengthening and reviewed all his past studies regarding his majors.

Finally, after 9 months of being suspended in the womb, Clyde will now be finally welcomed to the outside world again. Clyde experienced the warm liquid flowing out and he felt that he was being pushed downwards. Down and down he goes, until he was finally back to the outside world who embraced him in white light.
