He knew that he was her everything and that is why he uttered the last words on his deathbed, "Live for me Anna. Don't ever give up on yourself. I love you and I will always be with you. You may not find me near you but I will always be around you."

Regan Knight (29 years) 
A debanoir, one of the most dashing bachelor and the most successful entrepreneur of his generation. He is conceited and ruthless when it comes to business. Love is not a part of his lifestyle. But things change when he sets his eyes on Anna who beholds him in a trance from which he never wants to come out. He gradually understand the meaning of love and...... pain. "I love you Anna." He finally confessed. 

His heartfelt confession moved a string in her dead heart as if awakening her soul from a deep sleep. Those three simple words that were barely above a whisper held the utmost conviction of his every promise that he had silently made to her. She didn't expect something like that. Her eyes widened in shock and she muttered unbelievingly. 

"You love me?" She shook her head still not believing what she heard from him and gulped. "You love me. As….as a friend…..friend, right? As a….."

The edges of his lips curled up slightly. Out of all the reactions, it was the most unexpected from her. She was still not ready to believe what she heard and he was determined to make her believe every word he said. He cut her off to speak further and repeated again. 

"I love you......as a man loves a woman Anastasia."

The Connected Souls

Next day when Anna woke up she felt feverish. She was going to board the flight in the evening for returning back to New York. She lost all hopes of dealing with the Knights but she was still optimistic that she would be able to pull the project on her own. Although it would consume more time but she was passionate about pursuing each and every dream of Ashton. 


She was just finished with her morning chores when she heard the door bell rang. She immediately went to look out as she was wondering that who could visit her so early in the morning. When she opened the door of her suite, she was welcomed by the sweet fragrance of fresh pink roses swamped in a large bouquet. 


A certain someone dressed in a suit was holding it. As soon as Anna came into his sight, he at once acknowledged her and handed her the bouquet. "Miss Prescott?" These are for you. Have a lovely day Mam."


Anna gave him a curt nod and before she could ask anything, he was out of her sight. She was amused and pondered as who would make such efforts for her as she visited this place after a long time and besides she had nothing to do with anyone who would want to present her something like this. 


She saw a card attached with it and opened it. She was shocked would be an understatement as she never expected to receive any kind of pleasantry that too from none other than Regan Knight. It also had a letter which read,


"Looking forward to meet you Miss Prescott at the board meeting at Knights Corporation at 11:00 in the morning.


She was in a stupor for a while. Soon she collected her thoughts and her pretty face beamed with a wide smile as she saw a flicker of hope in the darkness where she regained an opportunity to get back what she had lost. She kept the bouquet aside and smell the gentle scent of the garden fresh flowers. She then checked the time and literally panicked as she had with her less than two hours to prepare herself for the meeting. She immediately called Mia and informed her about the progression.


She felt a little dizzy due to her high temperature but dilapidated it as she had no time to muse over it. She got ready in a modern yet classy burgundy business suit with a beige turtle neck knitted shirt underneath. It made her feel warm and secured her shivering body from cold. She wore a light makeup to cover her pale, sick face. She oozed elegance and class. 


Soon, she reached the Knights Corporation with Mia. They were been asked to wait in the lounge till the arrival of Regan. Mia noticed her sickness and asked if she was okay.


She gave her a gentle smile and answered, "Don't worry Mia. I am good. Just a little temperature. May be because I got drenched in the rain for long. But it's manageable. I'll get some rest after the meeting. And yes,  please don't inform Dad about this or else he would be unnecessarily worried." Mia just nodded her head in approval. 


After a while, a blonde girl came to inform them about the arrival of Regan and that they would be directly meeting him in the Conference Room with the other Board Members. 


Anna gathered all her courage as if it was 'now or never' and headed towards the Conference Room.
