Madara POV
The Five Kage. The five strongest shinobi in the elemental nations. I commend them for standing before me and having the guts to fight… but honestly, I expected more from the leaders of each nation.
Each one had flaws.
The Tsuchikage, while a master of the Dust release, was an old man ready to keel over with just a finger.
The Mizukage, a woman who thought that weak Kekkei Genkai are worth anything again an Uchiha's Sharingan. No other Kekkei Genkai or Dojutus could stand close to the Sharingan, the Rinnegan being the exception, since it was the evolved form.
The Kazekage, a child, nothing more. His sand was more of an annoyance than actual strength.
The Raikage, a hothead with a disability before I even arrived. His speed was the least notable thing.
And lastly the Hokage, Hashirama's granddaughter. I had my hopes up that she would have inherited some of Hashirama's power, like the Wood Release, so she could give me some form of entertainment, but unfortunately she didn't.
Instead, she tried to use medical Ninjutsu to compensate, or rather create a weaker version of Hashirama's abilities.
I turned around to face them so they could see Hashirama's face on me after deliberately getting hit by Onoki's particle style. Breaking their wills before death was always something I loved to see in my opponents. The eyes of when they accepted defeat before death was something I thought to see, but even I was mistaken.
"Is this all you have to offer? I am disappointed though also surprised. I was hoping to drop your morals, but it seems it did the opposite."
"And still you had to switch with a wood clone when the Kazekage was about to seal you. We aren't cowards, but it's a testament to your power that we 5 have to fight you," the Mizukage spoke in a time that made me frown.
5 to 1? When has it come to a point where I needed 5 people to fight me? I missed the good old times fighting Hashirama alone. Only he could make my blood pump through my veins and experience a true fight.
Ah, how I miss the good old times. Now I have to play with children. Hmm, talking about children…
"You know, I won't call you cowards. But in the case of 5 to 1… Why not make a game?"
They tensed as I spoke. Good.
25 wood clones emerged and positioned themselves before the Kage.
"NOW it's 5 to 1, and don't call me a coward. YOU are the 5 Kage. The best of the best from each hidden village.
There is one question remaining… Would you prefer for all of these clones to use the Susanoo or not? The choice is yours."
They took option 1, but even then, each of them covered their back to decrease their weaknesses. Worthy of being Kage.
General POV
Despite being outnumbered 5 to 1, the Kage once again caught Madara in Gaara's sand, with Onoki's particle style acting as a distraction. Once again, a hopeful look was placed on the Kage's faces, thinking they managed to seal their enemy.
Just as quickly as their hope came, so was it shattered when Madara showed them just how utterly outclassed they were. The outcome was clear from the start.
The power of an Uchiha with an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan; a full-body Susanoo.
Madara was in his own league.
"This is the difference between you and me. No one besides Hashirama is worthy of fighting me on equal grounds. As thanks for having entertained me, I will show you part of my might."
Madara was about to swipe the Kage away when he stopped, as he felt something wrong. Through his years, his instincts hardened to a supernatural level.
A good distance away, Sasuke, in response to Kabuto's mocking about his ultimate Jutsu, took out a purple scroll from one of his holsters.
In a 'poof' of smoke, a purple sealing tag with black writing appeared in front of everyone's eyes.
"You may be a user, but if it comes to Fuinjutsu and Edo Tensei, there is somebody much better," Sasuke smirked as he grabbed it and came closer to Kabuto.
Kabuto's face showed even more horror when his mind connected just who Sasuke was talking about.
"This is against the rules! You are bringing another individual into the fight. I won! I won't die!"
Even in this condition, Kabuto tried desperately to not die. One final attempt as he looked at the Snake Sage hoping he won, but the following words made his hopes crumble.
"You are a hypocrite, Kabuto. Did you not violate the agreement by using Danzo as help? I was sure Azara-sama would have called this fight if it was against the rules, but if she allowed such loopholes, then why can't I use the same?
Azara-sama made it clear Ishizu can't interfere directly in the fight, sure, but a simple fuinjutsu tag is enough for him to not break the rules and end this. This is the end for you, Kabuto."
Kabuto struggled with all his might to escape but the snakes held him firm to the ground. This was the end. With wide eyes, the defeated snake watched as Sasuke placed the seal on his heart.
Black markings spread over Kabuto's body. While the process didn't hurt Kabuto, the defeated dragon screamed as tears dropped from his eyes.
His words of forgiveness and help were ignored.
A 'thumb' sound resonated from inside Kabuto's body as the small black seal over Kabuto's body was gloving in bright light.
Before Kabuto could voice out any more useless words, Sasuke drove his sword through Kabuto's heart; right through the seal.
With wide eyes, Kabuto dropped dead on the ground. The fight was over and Sasuke was the winner and the new Snake Sage.
The moment Sasuke's sword pierced through the seal, somewhere near the battlefield, the real Ishizu stopped.
A smile spread across his face, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Why did you stop? Has something happened? Why are you laughing?" Yuka asked from behind Ishizu's shoulder.
'The special tag I gave Sasuke was successfully activated. I am glad he used it. While not needed for my last step, it opens up the path for me to stop the unnecessary blood loss without more trouble.'
"Something came up that made me happy. It's nothing you should be concerned about."
The tag Sasuke used was a type of contact seal made for one use. If the user of the Edo Tensei died while the tag was on the body, the ownership of the souls would be transferred to him.
Now Ishizu could release the souls to the afterlife and have them rest, but instead of doing so, he did something else.
Kabuto has reviewed a lot of people who had families fighting with each other. Back in the anime, Ishizu recalled Itachi talking about the Jutsu as a horrible one.
How it was a Jutsu that toyed with the souls and feelings of the dead who had to fight their loved ones.
So Ishizu did something else to avoid this belief.
Instead of forcefully letting the captured souls go, he would free their consciousness. This would allow them one last time to interact with their loved ones and protect them from the zetsu army.
A miracle in a bloody war.
They were free to do what they wanted.
And this was the feeling Edo Madara felt when his soul detached from the temporal body he had thanks to the Edo Tensei.
"The Edo Tensei was released. Has Kabuto already been stopped?" Tsunade asked as she saw with hopeful eyes the enemy of her grandfather leaving.
Ishizu formed a one-handed ram sign and every single Edo Tensei fighting the war stopped.
Confusion spread through the battles when the Edo people regained motion. Words were quickly exchanged to stop the fight, tears fell in happiness and quickly the Zetsu's found themselves fighting not only the Shinobi Alliance but also the undead Shinobi who, just a moment ago, were fighting with them.
"Let's see if I can make you leave by force!" Ishizu located Madara's soul and forcefully released the connection.
Unfortunately, this was Madara Uchiha. The man has studied the Reanimation Jutsu and knew the signs to cut the connection.
Cutting the connection to his new master Madara Uchiha now was an immortal being with unlimited chakra.
Ishizu could sigh with his shoulders sagging as he felt the change. While he gave everyone free rein, he hoped for a miracle where he could just kick Madara back into the afterlife and prevent him from interfering, but Lady Luck wasn't on his side right now.
It wasn't like it would change his current plan.
Madara reacted to the changes and Tsunade watched as his soul reentered the undead body and the Susanoo sword went for her life. Just when the Hokage was about to be pierced by the arm, a white light entered Tsunade's body.
It was her lover, Dan. With Ishizu taking over Kabuto's undead army, Dan used this opportunity for his unique soul jutsu to save Tsunade from death.
But unlike the anime where Itachi released the Edo Tensei, stopping Dan from staying with Tsunade for a long time, this time Ishizu gave Dan a new chance and the man took it.
The result was a body with two souls.
To clarify, Tsunade's body now housed her own soul and the soul from the afterlife that was still connected with its undead body.
As a result, as long as Dan's soul was inside Tsunade, she could draw the unlimited chakra from his undead body.
Even Ishizu, who was still a bit away from that place, was stunned by what he was sensing. Naturally, since Ishizu was connected with the new Edo Tensei, he could feel what was going on.
He could sense the other Jinchūriki massacring the remaining Zetsu clones, as well as feel a few familiar presences that were once dead.
One such person was Fu's mother, Kana. There was no doubt she was the same person he barely escaped death from. The phantom pain re-emerged, causing Ishizu to cringe.
'Her?! She was revived? Also, how can such a vile woman have such a happy child? The wonders of nature.'
There were many things happening at once with the Edo Tensei under his control, but Dan's and Tsunade's fusion was what drew the most attention.
It made him pause and take Yuka off his body. He had to know what was going to happen there.
"Yuka, I have a mission for you. Go and see what is happening there," Ishizu pointed in the direction of Madara.
"You shouldn't miss the massive chakra accumulation, but do not interfere in the battle. Stay away from the big mean guy in red. Use Yamai so Madara doesn't spot you change."
Ishizu's eyes widened when he felt a soft hand patting him on his cheek.
"Don't worry, Onii-chan. I won't disappoint you."
The girl gave him a big grin as she jumped down to the ground and ran away like a cartoon character.
Ishizu narrowed his eyes as he watched her go. He didn't expect Dan to do something like this. Even Ishizu had no idea what this would do to Tsunade.
That's what made it so exciting. The unknown.
"Show me what you two can do."
