Day 28

"You're 28 years old and have been married for a year. You made a really important decision...you've decided to take your road tripping international with your wife." Kyle closes the card and smirked at me. "Assuming I'm still married."

"Yeah, what if Kyle ends up having the seven month itch and thinks to hell with it," replied Tripoli as she fingered one of her neon green stripes in her hair.

Polk her boyfriend, laughs so suddenly I jump. "That would so be you man! Couldn't even keep a woman for a year!"

"Ye of little faith," replied Kyle. "My wife Nadia is gorgeous. It would take much more than a year to get her off of my mind."

"Nadia being the name of your imaginary wife?" asked Polk with a snort.

"No, she's very real. Just one of Kyle's nurses," I replied. "I was there when he did it."

"I couldn't get down on one knee but, the feeling was mutual," said Kyle with a wink. "Renata helped pick out the ring and everything."

Tripoli and Polk's shocked eyes zeroed in on me. "It was a ring pop, not the pink panther."

"Gee Kyle, I was freaking out for a second," said Polk. "Out of you, Abraham, and I, I was supposed to be the first one to marry."

Tripoli, who was drinking some water, choked on some of it. "R-really?"

"I didn't say it was going to be you," said Polk. Kyle didn't shake his head at his friend in time. Tripoli threw her water bottle at her boyfriend before he saw it coming. Good thing her water bottle was a plastic one.
