Chapter 3: Family

When Ru Lan got home she saw her uncle sitting on his arm chair in the garden, while talking on the phone. He was making a video call with his fiancée, with a mischievous grin on his face; she knew at once that this man was planning something.

She quietly walked up behind him and screamed... "Boo" the man immediately jumped up and his phone fell on the ground. He turned around and said Lannie your black card just flew out the window; you had to do that didnt you?

Well uncle K, I really dont mind since you also dont mind your very important documents from Mr whats his name going into the shredder, I mean what would Big Sis Shu say if i told her me and Lei couldnt make it in time for her wedding because we couldnt go shopping... she fluttered her eyes cutely and bent down to pick the phone. Big sis Shu, did you hear your husband to be just threaten your little cutsie, Im so scared, she faked an aggrieved expression

Big sis Shu: he wouldnt dare honey. Now how is my favourite bridesmaid doing? I hope you are ready for the wedding? And dont tell me you cant come 3 days to the D day coz we are gonna have a lot of fun dear.

Sis you know me best, Uncle K even promised to give me and Lei his card to go shopping. This weekend is totally gonna be lit. She smirked at uncle K who was still dumbfounded at the behaviour of this niece of his.

Okay Lannie, do give my best to Lei, and send me your flight schedule, Ill pick you up from the airport and who knows, we might just find you your prince charming. Okay Sis, thanks. Ill give the phone to you fiancé now.

She stretched her hand and handed the phone over. As she turned to leave, she suddenly turned back to hand the documents over. Here you go and I and Lei will wait for the cards. Were going shopping tomorrow you see.

She turned around and skipped inside the room while humming a weird and unknown tune. She was in a very good mood; she knew how to press the right buttons when it came to her Uncle k. She entered the living room and saw everyone inside laughing because of something Lei said...

Hi mom, she bends down and kissed her mom on the cheeks, Hi dad she said as she kissed him as well. Looks like Lannie is in a good mood, her dad said, seems like it Lei said since she even forgot to acknowledge me, Lei said faking a frown and pouting a little. So what the news Sis, pray tell... Ru Lan walked up to her sister Ru Lei and hugged her from the side. Darling her you angry at your sugar she asked...

Ru Lei: is that even possible she smiled and hugged her back.

Good because I'll have you know that Ive just snagged us a free ticket to the best shopping mall in town said Ru Lan

You mean, FYN Group mall, Ru Lei asked with eyes wide open as she smiled in glee with her sister, but how... she asked? If there's anything Ru Lan and Lei loved more than food after themselves of course, itd be shopping till they drop. No one knew they are not birth sisters but they have been the envy of other socialites in City E. You dont mess with the Rus especially when it has to do with these two sisters. They are quite good at putting people in their place.

Well, I wont say I conned Uncle K to give us his black card and VIP ticket to FYN Group mall, but... I did. Ahhhhhhhh.... Omg! This is just too awesome. I didnt even know he had a VIP ticket, have I told you I love you today? Ru Lei asked Ru LAN as she hugged her tight and said so only the 2 can hear, I love you so much sugar, thanks for coming into my life. Me too Ru Lan said as she hugged her sister back.

Hmm hmm, a sound of throat clearing disrupted the 2 sisters moment as they heard their mom say, if you are done playing around and ignoring your parents can we have dinner now? The both looked at their mom at the same time hugged her and said NEVER mom. Youre our Number one. As they made their way towards the dinning, Uncle K joined them. Lei hugged him on one arm and said thanks uncle K, I know you love us the most, and she grinned. Sure he said and smiled. And the happy family made their way to the dinner table which was already spread with varieties of sumptuous meal and fruits.

After dinner Lan and Lei both went to their seperate rooms, Lan put on the light in her princess style bedroom and went to the bathroom to take a shower, i mean who would see her room and think that this girl is a 24 years old grown woman. After bathing she wore her light blue peejays, dried her hair with her hair drier and applied her facial supplements, she looked at the mirror and said, A girls gotta look good right... narcissist much, she heard her sister say, she had no idea she wasnt alone. She turned around and looked at Lei who was resting her back on the door. I'm beautiful and I'm proud of it, she replied. Sure you are Lei said as she walked to her bed and sat down.

So tell me about your day Lannie... this was their normal ritual as they always tell each other about the most important and silly aspects of their days. She recounted the whole story to Lei including about her Prince charming and how she might have scared him off. Lei laughed, told her about her own boring day and they two girls laughed and hugged before Lei went off to her room to sleep.
