CHAPTER 24: SOMEBODY SHOOT ME

How can such a place exist, Jason asked Daisy.

My imagination, remember? Daisy said to him.

I truly have no words to describe this place Daisy, i can only say, i see why it's one of your favourite places. I'm not usually keen on taking in the beauty of my surroundings but this place has a certain charm to it. Thank you for bringing me here. He said.

Daisy was about to answer him when she spotted two people sitting in a corner. Her eyes immediately lit up as she rushed up to meet them.

It was Ke Bohan and Ru Lei her two favourite people on earth. They were having dinner.

Lei! Han! She called out with a big smile. Just the people i want to see.

Oh God! You've gotta be kidding me. Twice in one day? Are you following me Lan?

Somebody please shoot me now. Ke Bohan said.

Before they could even register what was going on, Ru Lan had already whipped out her HK VP9 9MM pistol and fired it straight at Ke Bohan. She pulled the slide at the top backwards as if she had loaded a magazine into the barrel and fired, it all happened in the blink of an eye. This pistol was especially easy to carry and Ru Lan never leaves it at home because she never knows when real danger will come lurking.

Ru Lei and Ke Bohan's hearts almost dropped. Only Jason remained unfazed, he had somehow already knew it was empty, but what he didn't know was how she brought it into the building in spite of the many security measures.

Lan they both screamed, what the h*ll? Ru Lei asked her. Why are you suddenly so trigger happy?

Great! Just Great! I left my work a few hours ago, just to cook for you and feed your empty stomach and now you want to use that same energy to kill me. It is said that the evil that men do will surely get back to them, now i believe it. By the way! Who carries guns when she goes on a date? Ke Bohan said.

Relax guys! It was just blanks. See... its empty she unloaded the gun and showed it to them. Besides it was Han who asked me to shoot him. Ru Lan said.

Hah! I've known you a long time and you still manage to leave me dumbfounded every time. How do you even still manage to function like normal people? It was a figure of speech lan, figure of speech, do you even know what that is? Ke Bohan asked.

Meh! Probably because I'm superwoman? She said and stuck out her tongue.

Before Ke Bohan could retort, they heard another voice say, how did you get it in undetected? They had not noticed the person behind Ru Lan when she came in.

How did you get it in undetected? Jason asked

Chill out dude. I own the place, and it was not undetected. It was just ignored. It's called owner's privilege okay?. Ru Lan said to him.

Don't tell me you've been packing the whole time? Jason asked her once again. It felt like he was getting new information about his newly found girlfriend every passing second.

I'm always packing Jason! The world is full of dangers and a girl's gotta protect herself you know! Ru Lan said.

Before he could say anything, Ke Bohan had interrupted him. The only time she isn't "packing" is when she is in surgery. Ke Bohan said.

Shut up Han, the only reason i don't carry a gun when i'm in the OR is because the surgical room is filled with many of my favourite weapons. She said with seriousness.

Yeah! You are a psycho. We know. Ke Bohan said.

Jason, come sit, let's join them. I'll introduce you. She said to Jason, she decided to ignore Ke Bohan.

Jason sat down and Ru Lan sat beside him. She immediately took a piece of cake from their plate and stuffed it in her mouth.

Ru Lei had not said anything since she noticed Jason beside Ru Lan, she was shocked silly. She didn't know that her date with her fiancé will be crashed by her boss and her sister.

Jason, this is Ke Bohan, i told you about him earlier, we went to school together with jake and Mei. He's the CEO of L&B. He is also Lei's fiancé.

Han meet Li Jaesun, CEO of FYN GROUP. They both stretched their hands out and shook each other without saying a word.

They Ru Lan looked at Ru Lei who was still frozen and said, i guess i don't have to introduce you two.

Ahem! B... B... Boss, Ru Lei stammered.

Director Ru, Jason said with a nod. He didn't go for a handshake this time.

Ru Lei has been doing whatever she can to stay away from Jason, the past few days. Since she bumped into him at the mall and spilled coffee on him, she had made it a routine to dodge him and stay away from bad karma, but looks like life had other plans for her.

Ru Lan could not take the awkwardness anymore so she intervened. Oh please! Drop the formalities. This is not a business dinner, besides he is here as your future brother in-law not you boss, you reserve the right to bully him, so you can bully him all you want. Its not easy to get a wife.

What! it's true. She said, when she saw that they were all looking at her. Right Jason? She asked.

Right, I'll be your future brother in-law miss Ru, no need to be so formal. No one could comprehend how Jason was feeling right now, he found his dream girl and he's going to become her husband. Everything in the world just felt right.

Hahahaha Ru Lan burst out laughing, shocking everybody one more time.

What now? Jason asked

Nothing much, its just that you just added miss in front of her name followed by no need to be so formal. She imitated his way of speaking. Isn't it funny? She asked Ke Bohan who completely ignored her.

Just call her Ru Lei or Lei. Ru Lan said

Nice to officially meet you Ru Lei. I'm Daisy's boyfriend. He stretched his hand out for a handshake this time. Jason said

The pleasure is all mine boss...

Ahem! Coughed Ru Lan when she heard how her sister was still addressing Jason.

I mean, the pleasure is all mine Mr Li she corrected herself and took his hand to reciprocate the handshake.

Ru Lan glared at her, as she saw that her sister was still calling Jason with so much fear.

That's as far as i can go Lan, no matter what you say he is still my boss and even though i tried to call out his name just now, nothing came out. I can only go with Mr Li. Take it or leave it. Ru lei said.

Only for now, and that's because I'm hungry and I don't want to dwell on pleasantries. Ru Lan said.

Don't you dare bully my fiancé you little monster... Ke Bohan said to Ru Lan.

Ru Lan rolled her eyes at him, then as if she just remembered something, she said, I totally forgot that you cant bully me anymore. I have a boyfriend now. Hmph, she said to Ke Bohan and Ru Lei, then she turned to Jason and said, Right Jason? She leaned her body on him and placed her head on his shoulder.

En. You can bully anybody, anywhere, anytime and however you want. I've got your back. Jason said and petted her on her head.

Ru lan struck her tongue out at Ru Lei and Ke Bohan

Serene! Ru lan suddenly called out.

Yes Miss Kelton, the robotic voice sounded from nowhere.

Tell old Louise to bring me a feast. Tell him i finally found a boyfriend. Whooo, she said and bumped her fist up in the air.

Right away Miss Kelton replied Serene.

Why does she refer to you as Miss Kelton? Jason asked.

Well! Probably because i'm Miss Kelton? She asked him back.

She laughed when she saw the small frown on his face, mehn! How she loved teasing this man who people refer to as emotionless, it always felt like she was entering new grounds and broadening her horizons whenever she saw that look on Jason's face and knowing that she is the one responsible for making him feel like that.

Don't worry. I'll tell you about it later, she finally said.

Ke Bohan and Ru Lei were just looking at these two. They were supposed to be on a date but these two lovebirds have now crashed their party and were now feeding them dog food non-stop even though they were not single.

Ru Lei wanted to re-learn what she knew about the world, because she knows for a fact that this CEO who was seating in front of her acting all lovey dovey with her sister was in fact unfeeling. Those words were not just heresy.

She had even witnessed him fire two of his secretaries earlier today for looking at him the wrong way and giving out slutty vibes in the work premises and he was nothing short of ruthless. So how could he be dating her sister and how come she didn't know about it.

She looked towards Ke Bohan, and as if he knew what she was thinking, he shrugged his shoulder indicating that he did not know anything either.

He was just as shocked as she was. The only thought on both their minds was that the little monster found her big monster. Life is definitely going to be hard from here on out.
