Coincidence?

"What a coincidence to see you back."

While Alice was still thinking whether to ignore the man, he had already reached her side and was now standing in front of her. His stare was of a man who knows how to play his own games. Alice feels really uncomfortable under that stare but she didn't want the other person to know about that.

"Eric Chen, if I had known you're here, I would've booked an earlier flight." She hides her discomfort by acting bold in front of this man.

He chuckled to himself before replying, "It was a coincidence Alice, no need to treat your fiancé like your enemy, hmm?" He finds it amusing that the girl has changed and has adapted a sassy attitude. This is the first time after a long time that they've met and she wasn't even happy about this encounter.

The personal assistant nearly rolled his eyes. Coincidence? He knows who Alice Wu is but that she was away for five years, how would his boss know what she looks like now?

"Fine, a coincidence it is." She is now irritated by him feigning ignorance. A coincidence, really? Then what does this man need from her, and to bring up their arranged engagement? "Though, to be talking to me now, does the young master need anything?"

Eric's smile was gone and was replaced with a face that seems to be studying her.

Alice can't wait for him to finish whatever he's doing to stall the time, and with even people who are seeing them together. "If there is nothing, I have to go. Hope to not see you again."

This made Eric laugh quietly once more before saying, "No need to antagonize me Alice." then showing his alluring smile. "I might be one who can help you, if you want me to."

"I don't think I would even need your help, and with regards to the engagement, you can cancel it anytime." With that she nod her head as a sign of farewell and then walked farther down the way to get out of the awkward situation.

She tried to hail a taxi and a black car stopped in front of her. "Second hospital please." Eager to get away from that man, she didn't even notice that there is somebody already inside the car.

"That is not a good habit you got there, young lady."

Him again? Her earthy brown eyes narrowed and was about to get out of the car when a hand has stopped her arm from grabbing the door handle. She then turned around and faced Eric Chen and then turned her attention to the hand grabbing her left arm.

Eric noticed where she was looking and made an apologetic face before taking his hands off, clearing his throat. "It's cool, cool."

"I have to get off." Alice said, stating her facts.

"No need to. Where are you going?"

"And why would I tell you?" She now feels like this man is taking advantage of her mistake.

"I am just being a gentleman. Am I not allowed to send my fiancée to where she wants to go?" His smug face he is now making makes Alice want to hit that face. She never would have expected that after a long time, this man would be more shameless. Never mind the past, this guy is in a whole new level of shamelessness now.

Even the personal assistant Regie Liu, who is seating in the shotgun, wanted to roll his eyes. Gentleman? Though his boss would portray a playful appearance in front of other people, he would never care about anyone or their feelings. Gentleman is like a word that is too far-fetched for describing his boss' personality.

"There is no need. Also, the engagement has been arranged by the Zhao family and your Chen family. I believe that you would want to cancel it and marry someone you like." She again turned around and held the door handle.

"What if I like you? Then, there is no need to cancel it, is there?"
