Arrival, Diagon Alley

Walking out of the Leaky Cauldron, Ron looked on at the packed street in front of him and almost couldnt believe it. If not for the fact that he'd already been in this world for more than five years, he honestly would've thought he was dreaming.

All sorts of people were walking on a long cobbled street that twisted and turned out of sight. Ron turned his head in every possible direction, trying to look at everything at once; the shops, the things outside them, the people doing their shopping.

There were shops selling all kinds of things, such as robes, telescopes, and strange silver instruments. There were some with windows stacked with barrels, piles of spell books, quills, rolls of parchment, or potion bottles.

His father noticing Ron's excitement grabbed his hand and led him along with his brothers. Their destination was a snowy white building that towered over the surrounding shops. Standing by it's entrance was a stout uniformed Goblin, straight out of the movies.

He was about a head shorter than Ron, had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard, very long fingers and feet.

Looking at the second pair of doors he saw the Bank's famous warning.

[Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of greed,

For those who take, but do not earn,

Must pay most dearly in their turn.

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours,

Thief, you have been warned, beware

Of finding more than treasure there.]

' Gringotts...'

Heading inside they came to a long and vast marble hall where numerous goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales, and examining precious stones through eyeglasses. There were too many doors to count leading out of the main hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of them. His father asked them to wait by the entrance while he walked over to an open counter.

After an few minutes, their father gestured them to walk over to his side. In front of him stood a goblin who led all of them through a door and onto a narrow stone passage way. A few feet ahead another goblin awaited them, alongside a small cart that came hurtling up the tracks toward them.

' Are we going to go the family vault!?'

Climbing inside the cart, Ron expected the ride to be like a rollercoaster ride. However in actuality it was more like a fast drop since they reached their vault in a matter of seconds.

" Eh, wasn't that too fast and boring...?'

Only his father entered the vault and came out almost immediately. To Ron it all felt anticlimactic, there were no mountains of gold or shining gems only a chest in the middle which his father opened and closed quickly.

Feeling that his life might be harder than he'd previously imagined, and after mentally sighing he tried thinking positive.

' I just need to focus on my magic, I'm a pureblood Wizard, so as long as I play my cards right, I can become much more than this...'

Ron's current feelings and thoughts had lingered inside him for quite some time now. Lately he even thought about using his status as a Pureblood to help with his family's financial situation.

Sure his parents disliked using it and hated those who did, but he had big dreams and great aspirations. Ones he couldn't fulfill without a large amount of resources, primarily money.

' Hogwarts will be where I can grow the fastest but until then I need to learn as much as I can.'

As they were making their way out of the Vaults, they came face to face with their dates rivals, the Malfoys. The father, son pair looked almost identical, pale, sleek blond hair, and ice grey eyes. While they all had their trademark red hair and freckles.

" Come to take out your remaining Knuts and Sickles Weasley?"

Ron noticed that his father balled up his fist after that insult, but didn't act on his anger. Instead deciding to retaliate with an insult of his own right back at the blond man.

" And you Lucius? Come to take out more Galleons for that ridiculous haircut of yours?"

Weirdly enough Lucius turned red and shot Arthur a glare before stomping away. Ron noticed that Draco did the same, but that didn't bother him, he was of no importance to him.

' I wonder how he'll act when I show everyone how much of a genius I am, not like those Death Eater guys... Oh Shit.'

As he was about to mock the Death Eaters, Ron recalled the rat that his brother Percy had taken in a few years back. He'd been to preoccupied with his learning and reading that he'd completely forgotten about the rat. Just thinking that he left it behind with his mother and little sister he became enraged, the only thing that calmed him was knowing that his brother always kept it in his cage.

' Thank you Draco, you helped me remember something very important.'

Now he had another problem how to deal with that fake rat bastard hiding in his home.

' Do I cast a reversal spell on him while mom and dad are home? No, even thought he's weak he could still hurt someone. I can't contact the authorities since they're useless... Guess that only leaves me with that one choice.'

_

They returned about a hour later thanks to there not being many people buying cauldrons this time of year, and because of his constant nagging to go home. That annoyed his father and brothers but it was necessary, once they got back Ron went up to his room and locked himself inside again.

" Really what will we do with him? He kept begging to go, yet when we got there he kept whining to come back."

Hearing her husbands words Molly couldn't help but sigh, she knew that Ron wasn't like any of her other children. Although Bill, Charlie and Percy cared for their studies, they weren't nearly as obsessed like Ron was.

' I really don't know who he takes after, neither Arthur or I were ever that engrossed in learning. Hopefully he learns to open up to people more and make friends.'

_

Up in his room Ron sat down on his bed and blankly stared at a small wooden box full of empty glass bottles. He wasn't entirely sure if his plan would work but he couldn't just sit around and let the rat bastard use his family like a shield. He knew that once he received his wand he'd have better control over his magic and his plan would go without a problem, but how could he possibly let some 40 year old, murderer live with his family.

' Tomorrow morning, I'll do it then.'
