87. Meeting Scarlett again

Spielberg condensed Dale Dye's words: Rowan is awesome.

So he nodded: "That's the sniper in my mind."

He paid attention to Rowan afterwards, but only for a while.

After all, there is a lot of work at DreamWorks, and there are also projects of his own.

He returned to California after the filming of "The Mask of Zorro" got on track. Later, he heard that Rowan went to Europe to film, so he didn't pay much attention to it.

After many days, Rowan gave him some more surprises.

The posture and temperament are very appropriate and even stunning.

Spielberg suddenly had an idea and stroked his chin: "It would be nice to add a few sniper scenes to the script..."

The script is not set in stone.

We are still in the early preparation stage. If inspiration suddenly comes or a big shot has an opinion, the script will change.

The current script is very different from the original script.

In the original script, Captain Miller had many more lines and had long conversations with his subordinates.

He would tell the rest of the troop what he did to earn a living back home, and they would imagine the future together.

Tom Hanks felt it was inappropriate for his character to talk too much about himself, so he told Spielberg about it.

Spielberg thought what he said made sense and agreed, so this segment was shortened.

Objectively speaking, this was for the role, but no matter what, it was also a proactive move to reduce one's own role.

What is the best actor? Tom Hanks' influence goes beyond that.

It was also Tom Hanks's effort and biography that changed the role of Captain Miller.

This character was originally very simple, a man as tough as a reef, a law-abiding officer.

After the changes, the character of Captain Miller has become more humane and more layered.

Also in the original script, Captain Miller survived the final battle.

Later, they felt that "survival" was not heavy enough, so they changed it to death.

The ending is death, traditional but practical.

These positive changes make the character better.

It's also the chemistry between the actors and the director.

Now Spielberg feels that he has some chemistry with Rowan.

"Saving Private Ryan" cannot be shot like an action movie. If it were as wild and cool as Bruce Willis "Die hard", it would not be a World War II movie. But many movie fans in this era just like Bruce Willis's style.

Spielberg's concept of making movies is very simple: it's all about box office, and high box office is the bottom line.

If movie fans like this, we can adapt it to local conditions.

Spielberg thought that Rowan could be the cool one.

A sniper wouldn't be a sniper if he wasn't cool.

This guy acts cool in Zorro. He has all the abilities and temperament. He meets the prerequisites, so the result will definitely be good Spielberg called screenwriter Robert Rodat on the spot.

Robert Rodarte: "It's fine to add sniper scenes, but do we really want to delete the plot we talked about last time?"

Spielberg knew what he was talking about.

After Miller's squad captured Germans, they would camp out in foxholes for the night.

At night a German armored division arrived and camped next to the squad's foxhole. When a German soldier named Wetter approached the foxhole to ask for a cigarette, the squad pointed their guns at Willy and talked to Wetter so that their cover would not be exposed (Wetter had never seen the Americans because of the darkness of the night)

Through Willy, the team eventually trades a Mickey Mouse lighter and Melish's youth knife for food from Watter.

"Delete it."

Spielberg found a reason to convince him.

This plot is actually good, but there are other considerations.

After some consultation and seeing that the event was over, Spielberg hung up the phone and walked over. After praising the actors a few words, he generously gave them a few days off.

After the vacation, they will head to Ireland for filming.

Rowan went home and had a good sleep.

When he woke up the next day, he suddenly didn't know what to do.

He lay on the bed with arms and legs wide open, staring at the ceiling with his eyes open.

He was in a daze for a while until the phone rang.

Rowan looked at the phone and was a little surprised.

Why did Scarlett call him.

Rowan answered the phone: "Hello?"

"Hey, is training over?"

Scarlett was curious: "What's it like to train with the movie star?"

Rowan said lazily, "I learned a lot."

"Can you please get me an autographed photo?"

"You still need this?"

Although he hasn't met Scarlett these days, they have been talking on the phone.

Rowan didn't ask any questions, and the girl complained and told him all her family information.

His grandfather Einar Johnson was a s creenwriter and director, his mother Melani le Sloan was a Jewish producer, and his sister Vanessa Johnson was also an actress.

It can be said that the whole family are insiders. This is also a young lady with a background, and she is related to the Jewish circle. Her relationship with the big names is much better than his.

"This is different."

Scarlett responded vaguely and chang ed the subject abruptly: "You haven't forgotten it, have you?"

Rowan then smiled and said "I asked for an autographed photo for you. When are you coming to get it?"

Scarlett: "Now. I'm at the door, open it quickly."

The phone call was hung up.

Rowan got up in surprise and opened the door, and sure enough, there was a beautiful girl standing outside.

She wore a white short-sleeved shirt and a high-waisted long skirt, and her long dark brown hair looked gorgeous in the sun.

Looking at road who looked surprised, Scarlett gave him a bright smile: "Long time no see."

Rowan nodded "Long time no see... You don't seem to have grown much."

Boom!

The little elbow hit Rowan's ribs.

Not heavy, just a little itchy.

"I will still grow!"

Scarlett glared at him and walked in with her head held high.

Height is not her problem. After all, she is not short compared to her peers. She is of average height. But Scarlett just feels that Rowan's tone deserves a beating.

Rowan thought that teenage girls would still develop, but judging by his memory, the place of development might not be what Scarlett imagined...

He made way for her: "Next time, tell me in advance. I'm really afraid you'll be photographed by reporters."

"It's nothing, what are you afraid of...I'll tell you next time."

Scarlett still values Rowan as a friend: "It won't have any impact this time, right?"

Rowan shook his head: "I've haven't been back to my house for a long time now since I'm outside every day, they don't know where I am."

After entering the house, Rowan gave Scarlett the autographed photo.

"I don't accept your gift for nothing."

Scarlett took out two movie tickets and handed them to Rowan with the momentum of stabbing him to death: "Here, return the favor. It cost me a lot of pocket money. You promised to wat hbthe movie with me but since you have been busy with its promotion and then training for the movie I decided to buy the tickets for you."

The movie tickets were for Rowan's movie Face/off. Scarlett wanted to see the movie and Rowan had even invited her to the premier but she couldn't come because she was busy doing a movie audition that day. The two then made the promise to watch the movie together.

"Thanks so are you ready to go wtach the movie."

Scarlett said excitedly: "I suggest you tell my mother now, so that we can play untiI 5pm to watch the movie and then go back!"

It's true that the girl returned the favor, but she wanted to go out and have fun more.

Rowan agreed with a smile.

Under Scarlett's strong supervision, Rowan called her home phone.

The genius student of USC carries much more weight than my actor friend.

It took Rowan a few minutes to convince the other party to give the girl leave.

After hanging up the phone, Leonhard shrugged at Scarlett: "Okay."

Scarlett excitedly hugged his arms and cheered.

Rowan once again confirmed that the girl's development was abnormal.

Or, in other words, a lucky coincidence?

It smells a bit like a genetic mutation.

Among the Jews who generally have an A attitude, this can be considered a mutation.

Come to think of it, Scarlett's character is a little less Jewish.

As for Jewish families, they all know what is going on and they are very strict.

In Hollywood, strict management is a good thing, but it can't be too strict, otherwise it will cause rebelliousness.

Scarlett had this sign.

Rowan remembers that she dated Jared Leto and even Sean Penn, clearly this girl had a rebellious streak in her but luckily she also made good movie choices that helped her career.

Rowan quickly cleaned and changed his clothes, then took Scarlett out.

The 1969 Dodge Charger started slowly, and the girl only then remembered to ask: "Where are we going?"

Rowan: "SeaWorld San Diego."

"Ocean Park? I've been there several times. Is that place boring?"

"Whether it's interesting or not depends on who you go with."

Rowan saw the girl's disbelief from the corner of his eye: "Want to make a bet?"

Scarlett's eyes twinkled: "What's the bet?"

"If it's not fun, I'll take responsibility. If it's fun..."
