The Second Offensive against the aliens didn't go well as they have expected.

The tenacity of the Imperial Soldiers was something that they have miscalculated. Even after they managed to attack them using the Cryptic Mage's Death Energy, they can still strongly resist as they use their laser rifles to deal with the magicians.

Though the Magicians have Brain-Boosting Magic that allows them to react faster than an average person, the aliens had also received several enhancements! And aside from that, the aliens only have to pull the trigger of their weapons, unlike the magicians that still require a certain level of concentration to successfully cast their spells.
