Chapter One: The Void

I opened the portal to the Anti-Void. I sat down to knit when everything sunk in.

'They don't want me. They think they don't need me... Tsk. Well, then why not give them what they want?'

I stood back up and headed to OuterTale. I walked over to the cliff and stared into the void. When I was about to jump in, I stopped.

'What in the multiverse are you thinking Error?!' I scolded myself as I walked away. 'You have to protect your family! Who cares what they think! They don't know your side! They don't know our side! You didn't destroy this many AU's to give up now. You didn't destroy for this long to give up. You didn't take these many life's to give in to their blind demands!'

I sat down next to a tree. I thought I heard a portal but I dismissed it because I was to busy scolding myself.

'You must protect your family! You can't give up now! That shows you that you are weak! Like stars I am.'

I turned to look when I saw Nightmare come out of a portal.

"You Okay Error? Your aura is more negative than before." Nighty asked.

"I'm disappointed in myself. I just about made a dumb mistake." I groaned.

"What did you do?" Nighty questioned.

"I almost jumped into the void because the 'light' side attacked me. I don't even know what I was thinking! I was so close to leaving you all..." I admitted guilt-filled.

"Hey don't worry about it Ruru. We all make mistakes. What counts is that you didn't do it." Night comforted me. "Stars, even if you did I wouldn't blame you. Not when I myself have almost done it before."

"...But I'm meant to protect you guys... Honestly, you guys are the only reason I still keep the balance." I responded, leaning on him. "And I was just about to give that up to their blind demands..."

"Error, you do protect us every day. But did you forget that you're a monster too?" Nighty replied as he picked me up and set me in his lap.

"But I have to be strong for you guys..." I muttered.

"And you are. You always comfort us Ruru. But you need to let your emotions go sometimes too. Didn't you tell Killer and me to not bottle up our emotions?" Nighty resorted.

At those words, I break down crying. Nighty stayed with me until I calmed down.

"You better?" Nighty asked when I stopped crying.

"Yeah... But I still feel weak for crying..." I admitted while my face in his chest.

"It doesn't make you weak. It means you've just been strong for way too long." Night retorted.

"I'm broken. Not strong." I countered.

"You are not broken Ruru. You're alive." Nighty hummed.

"I...Thank you Nighty..." I mumbled as I slowly fell asleep.

"Your welcome Ruru." He replies. The last thing I remember was something on the top of my skull as everything faded to black.
