Need some income

Feeling the oncoming lethargy as the warmth smothers me, I can't believe I haven't tried this yet considering how long I've been in Japan. I bought a Kotatsu. The little low table, with the heat source built into it and a heavy blanket covering it. I will be the first to admit, this is pretty damn comfy.

"I, appear from underneath." I glanced over at the goth loli that seemed to have taken residency underneath the Kotatsu with me.

I actually decided to leave Ophis back at the Dimensional Gap instead of taking her with me. However for whatever reason, she decided to show up again under the reasoning that she desires to 'Observe' me. Who the hell would want to observe me? They'd have to be really bored to do that. Like those damn readers.

Speaking of which, when the hell is the author going to finally drop this crappy story and bother another Aversis?

But enough about that, I've just been chilling... well toasting underneath this kotatsu with Ophis all day. I don't really have much else to do, well besides pay property tax.

Yep, apparently I have to pay bills now. Since Rias gave me the actual deed for ownership of this place, I have to actually pay the bills for it. Which sucks because I don't have a job. Also I'm poor, I mean I have wealth in treasures but due to my hoarding problems, I'm obviously not going to be selling my crap anytime soon. I also don't want to make Lydia get a job, since she basically works under me for free already.

I considered making Jack and Jade get jobs, but then I'd feel wrong making them pay as I see them as my own kids in a sense. Which means I should probably figure out a source of income for myself soon.

"Hm..." I hummed in exasperation as I couldn't believe I actually required a source of income at the moment.

Didn't Yasaka say that my bounded fields were desired due to not being seen in this world? Maybe I could sell my services putting up wards for others. But then I'd need connections... maybe I could ask Serafall to help me.

Damn it, I hate thinking seriously since it reminds me that I'm sober. I miss my Elder Blunts. Wait.... Elder Blunts.

"I could sell drugs!" I exclaimed out loud. Ophis didn't react as she seemed to be content with observing my inner monologue and deep thoughts.

If there is one thing I can take pride of, it's my abilities to create drugs and alcohol. But how do I go about doing it? I need to get in contact with important people, maybe Azazel? I wonder if I could offer him and his fallen some good stuff. Fallen can get high right? Even if they couldn't, I bet I could make them!

Rizevim seemed to be able to enjoy smoking my Elder Blunt earlier, which means I could sell it to devils as well. Hm, I'll need to either talk to Serafall or Sirzechs to help me market.

As for angels... I bet I could get them high without having them fall. I wonder if you can get high off pure goodness? Things to consider testing in the future.

I was considering messing with the plot since Rias and Koneko came back recently, but screw that. Akemi can handle that nonsense like the protagonist she is, meanwhile I have a drug industry to start up!

First things first, I need to come up with a name for my business.

MEANWHILE WITH THE PLOT

Within the Occult Research Club's room, Akemi stood protectively in front of Asia with a glare directed at the blue haired girl. The Gremory group were wrapping up a meeting with the members of the church, Xenovia Quarta and Akemi's old friend Irina. However it seems Xenovia's bluntness and actions have pissed off a certain Red Dragon Empress.

"Did you just call Asia a witch?" Akemi asked with anger hidden beneath her tone.

"I believe it's a term fit for her at the moment." Xenovia stated with the same straightforward tone.

"Like hell it is. You idiots just started calling her a saint, while forcing her to shoulder the burden alone!"

"A saint only needs faith in God's love. Those seeking more love or friendship are not worthy of sainthood." The blue haired girl rebuked.

"Screw your shitty faith, all that hypocritical bullshit is pissing me off. You idiots just sit there, casting your one sided judgement without even understanding this girl's kindness!"

"What are you to Asia Argento?" Xenovia asked.

"Her family!" The immediate response took her by surprise. "Her friend! and her Ally! If you do anything to Asia, I don't mind fighting each and every last one of you."

"Bold words from a feeble devil. May I take that as a challenge to the entire church?" Xenovia smirked at Akemi's heated words.

"As a devil? No. But as myself, my teacher once left me with some words. 'If you were to ever make an enemy out of an entire faction, then you better have a good reason for it.'." Akemi quoted Gold's words to her "Right now, I think protecting family is the perfect reason."

"Akemi, stop." Rias tried to calm her down as she didn't want this to blow up.

"Why don't we take this outside then?" Xenovia smirked as she gripped her weapon.

"Xenovia, are we seriously doing this!?" Irina sighed out exasperated as she didn't want to get in trouble if the higher-ups found out.

"That's perfect. I'll be your opponent." Everyone turned by the door where Kiba Yumi had arrived out of nowhere.

"Who are you?" The church members asked

"Your senior."

"Lord Gold, it seems Akemi is about to enter battle with members of the church." Lydia informed Gold as she was displayed the scene outside the school on a tablet.

"She can handle it, anyway I've got more important matters to attend to." Gold waved it off as unimportant. He was currently in his wizard robes, with an Elder Blunt stuck between a steel vice.

"I thought you were incapable of getting high anymore."

"This isn't for me, I'm planning on starting a business in the future Lydia. I'm just trying to dilute the effects since people don't exactly have as big of a tolerance to this as I do. Now BEHOLD!" Gold exclaimed as he waved his arms around in large gestures.

A demonic chant was sounding out from his mouth as indecipherable words and runes surrounded the Elder Blunt. The singular blunt flickered back and forth in space during the process until it finally split in two.

Gold carefully picked up one of the blunts and examined it closely. "Hm, theoretically it should have worked. But I can't be sure since I can't test it myself. Lydia, test it for me." He held the blunt out towards the housecarl.

"Lord Gold, you and I both know that I have refrained from ever using any of your drugs." Lydia had taken it upon herself to always be sober around Gold since he was usually never sober until recent events.

"Hm, fair point. Alright I'll need to find a test subject." Gold nodded in understanding.

"But where will I get such a test subject." He clicked his tongue as Ophis appeared out of nowhere and grabbed the diluted Elder Blunt out of his hands.

"What's this?" The goth loli asked.

"Hm... Can I get a Dragon God high?" Gold mumbled out in thought.

"Lord Gold, I don't believe this is appropriate."

"Nonsense, technically she's older than me." Gold waved off Lydia's worries "Unless you count past life, in which case I'm older than her 100x over even if she was infinity years old." his eyes turned golden for a moment before returning to gray.

"Huh, what just happened?" Gold blinked in confusion.

"Amen!" Irina shouted as she swung her holy sword down onto Akemi's head.

"Not that I'm complaining but, why does everyone I fight change into the most sexual outfits?" Akemi asked out loud as she side stepped the attack while staring at her childhood friend's combat attire. Raynare turned into a stripper, Viser was topless, Riser's peerage did it as well as they were dressed sexily in their own ways.

"Mou! Stop dodging and let me cut down your sins in the name of the lord already!" Irina complained as Akemi continued to effortlessly avoid her attacks. Gold had really hammered into her the importance of dodging. Which basically meant that she was just forced to run for her life as he rained down legendary weapons at her for hours.

"They are at a disadvantage." Rias frowned as she watched Yumi and Akemi fight against the two holy sword wielders. "It is said that by simply touching a holy sword, devils would be gravely injured."

"Yumi should be able to hold on with her speed against them. Akemi on the other hand..." She glanced back at Akemi who was still dodging.

"Why hasn't she released her boosted gear yet?" Akeno asked as Akemi seemed to be grinning strangely for some reason as if she was thinking of something else.

"Please be careful, Akemi-senpai is capable of destroying the clothes of any person with just a touch." Koneko warned from the side.

"She can!?" Irina cried out

"Koneko you traitor! Why would you tip off your enemy!?" Akemi cried out in disbelief that Koneko would betray her like this. No wait she could believe it.

Akemi actually ended up developing the technique to Gold's surprise when he was sparring with her once. Needless to say, Gold banned her from using it when they were sparring. He didn't want to replace his clothes everytime they were destroyed.

"That technique is too evil to be used against anyone." The cat girl retorted.

"Well while you were distracted, I just ended it." Irina said as Akemi noticed a small scratch on her arm. A dark fog was releasing from the wound. "Even a small graze like that is enough to make a devil powerless, especially since you haven't been one for long."

"Akemi-san!" Asia cried out in worry

"Hm." The Red Dragon Empress blinked as she lifted her arm and stared at the cut.

"What!?" To everyone's surprise, the wound immediately healed up as if nothing happened.

"How!?" Irina exclaimed with confusion as holy weapons were supposed to be the bane of all devils.

"I'm pretty confident when it comes to my tolerance to holy weapons. Besides I've fucked a man who's dick literally radiates a hundred times more holy power than that sword of yours!" Akemi exclaimed with confidence.

Technically she had always slowly built up a tolerance around Gold as he literally radiated a holy aura due to Rhongomyniad without even realising it. Although the holy energy he emitted was different from DXD's, it still gave her incredibly high resistance to it.

"That's insane!"

"You don't know true insanity until you hang around Gold long enough!" Akemi declared as she took out Bloodskal. "Anyway, I suggest you give up. I'm done playing around." A red aura erupted from her body as she raised her blade in the air.

"Bloodskal!" Bringing the blade down, red light poured out from the blade in the form of a giant laser.

"Irina!" Xenovia got in front of her friend as she swung Excalibur Destruction at the energy blast.

The holy sword was capable of holding the red light back for a moment before being overwhelmed as the blast sent both the church members flying back into the trees.

"And I didn't even need to boost it." Akemi whistled at the destruction with a smile as she rested Bloodskal on her shoulder.

"Results of experiment. Inconclusive." Gold muttered as he wrote some things down on paper.

The Infinite Dragon was chilling around the kotatsu with the Elder Blunt still in her mouth. Gold was incapable of telling if the blunt had any effects on the Dragon God.

He would need to do more experiments.
