fight!!!

Recap - While i was preparing my spells and analyzing the situation the bandits got the upper hand in the battle by taking the royalty as hostages. Simple attacks were out of question and hence i was totally stranded.

Now - I really needed a distraction , something to buy a few moments , something to stun the captors.....and then it dawned on me...hell yeah...'stun is what i need'. Just like a stun grenade is used to block people's sight and hearing. It was something i had never done before but the situation called for it. So i started to build a pocket-full electricity while compressing it between my palms. 'I have to be careful or else i will be the one needing help' was my initial thought but it faded as soon as i increased my concentration . And then it was time but what in the heavens was going above , i felt a strong sensation as my enhanced senses picked up on incoming magic projectiles at very high velocities straight at me.I looked up, only to feel a strange smile creeping up on my face and then i released the stun bomb blinding and deafening everyone below . I immediately switched to charge mode from normal. The incoming magic projectiles were none other than the seven dragon heads light array. Alice used her remaining strength to help me even in her last moments which made me go mad while the anticipation of battle was already taking over my mind. I always had problem stopping once my battle instincts took over. The dragons pierced through the captors turning body parts to ash in blink of an eye and killing them instantly while i did something of a new move ,taking the momentum from the air ,i collected the electricity in my right hand and smashed it on the ground just as i reached it which created a straightforward ground travelling electrical shockwave . The effect was a devastating blast of electricity moving forward and knocking out half a dozen bandits . Now the bandits stood frozen in a confused state long enough to let the guards around the king to take initiative and start their own offence resulting in a battle again taking place .I realised the risk of archers and yelled out a warning while steadily putting the princess from my side, into the nearby wagon. Just as i got her in, several arrows hit my back, but thanks to my air armour none of them 'actually' hit me. A couple of soldiers helped the king to get to the wagon . A volley of arrows streamed in from the woods but luckily there were only a few cries and groans. Nobody was seriously injured, thanks to my warning , obviously , duh...

Now with everyone safe i could easily go on doing my thing. 'Lightening Burst : Heaven's Lightening' (ain't it cool,huh) and the spell took effect raining down bolts after bolts of nature's lightening at the exact spots from where the arrows were launched causing mayhem.. ( recorded by my high senses)..

Archers were out of fight and the ones left were now being chased by a small force of soldiers belonging to the vanguard led by a young guy who was previously protecting the king.

The fire was put out . 'Heeelllpppp' ....there was a shriek and my sense suddenly picked up flowing mana from the direction of the wagon where currently the princess was residing. Soldiers rushed out and found the wagon empty. I was still getting readings so i rushed out on my own ,circling around the wagon since the soldiers were already blocking the way and just as i reached the other side i bumped into the source. The source came into sight due to our unlucky crash encounter ( he was invisible).It was a man covered in full black clothing from head to toe with a ghastly mask on his face.He was carrying the princess and suddenly started running towards the tree cover. I rushed with my charge mode and.... 'smash' a full contact blow sent me flying through the air like a soft ball after being hit by a solid baseball bat. Soldiers ran to the other side to pursue the kidnapper but then the man stopped and looked at the soldiers. The soldiers came to a halt and i had no clue just why did they stop. A man cried from somewhere among the herd..it's zeal'....and the tension in the air was palpable.To make the matters worse big and burly men stepped in front of him taking the role of guards for the 'you know who ' zealy boy.

I swear the staring competition could have gone longer if not for me powering up by a lightening strike from the storm and switching to lightening mode which is really flashy. All eyes were on me like everyone was asking me if they could fight. Since it was becoming really annoying i zapped one of the onlookers (burly bandits) which resulted him in going facedown on the ground and getting me cheers. An old guard pushed forward while crying 'don't hesitate ,the almighty wizard is on our side'...'chaaarrgeee'...The battle started and while the soldiers fought with a renewed vigor, the burly men proved to be better than they looked ,guarding the escape of the kidnapper . I started my onslaught of electrical punches and kicks which still took me a valuble 15 seconds to get through the barrier.Yet again a blow,

except this one made me lose all concentration. I was a decent level wizard but casting and continued use of several spells at once was still very difficult.I was able to maintain it all till now ,only thanks to my magic ring making my mana reserves double and the kerylium rods or batteries that i had to recharge myself up. This blow cancelled all my spells since i was now on low mana and also lost my concentration at the key moment of the hit.Luckily nothing was broken meaning the spells wore out after me hitting the ground. The second blow came while i was still recovering. A hand yanked me back just in the nickel of time. I murmured a thanks and saw the same old man who took the charge before, grinning . He shouted boldly 'can't lose our mighty wizard now,can we?'

And a loud cheer erupted among the chaos. The battle again came to a halt when the one who attacked me came into view. The burly men were surely intimidating but this man would put all to shame. He was huge like a mountain with a long scar across his chest. The helmet he wore made him look like a beast from the gates of the hell itself dressed in tattoos from all sides . Breaking the ice between the group he asked ' bring the wizard forward ' and when i did he looked me dead in the eye and laughed maniacally . 'We shall have an honourable duel' .....' if you win ,i'll let you pass ' ...'hell if you make me happy,i'll even tell you the werebouts of your little princess'.....

Since the famous kidnapper was already long gone, pursuing him would not yield any fruits. That was if we were able to defeat this score of barbarians which was still gonna take a lot of time and a lot of lives. If the beast looking man would do an honest duel and keep his word then it would certainly be a win win for us. It sounded too good to be true. The other barbarians started laughing as i was still buying time to think over what the man just said and to recharge my mana through my battery rods. They were so sure. The old guard patted me on my back and said 'the berserkers generally resolve conflicts through duels ' ,'so if we have any chance,this is it',, 'everyone is counting on you now ' . This just got interesting, we met but only several minutes ago and now they are putting so much faith in me?

well it is either that or i'm the only sacrificial goat present here since that particular beast looking barbarian looks really reaaallyy badass.....
