A Cry For Help

Ankee - Dont worry we'll make him good as new. I'm Ankee by the way head pixie. Come to me whenever your in need of a good healin'.

Emily looked to her left shoulder looking for the pixie that was supposedly speaking to her.

Ankee - Down here.

Emily looked down at her shoulder, and sure enough there was this small little buzzing winged creature staring at her.

Ankee - Hiya!

Emily - Um hello. I'm Emily. I'm a witch.

Ankee - Nice to meet you Emily.

Next thing almost out of nowhere another little pixie flew out the mushroom house.

Woodadrina - Ankee we could use your help!

The little pixie yelled in a calm yet urgent voice.

Ankee - All right coming. Sorry gotta fly!

She lifted herself of Emily's shoulder and flew into the house right after the other little buzzing creature.

Emily - Um bye?

Sir Oscar Amon walked up behind Emily as the small pixie buzzed her way back into mushroom to assist her fellow pixies

Emily - Magic must make everything so much easier.

Sir Oscar Amon - Magic is a not a cure, it's a curse. Walk with me.

And so Emily followed Sir Amon and left the mushroom house, leaving Josh in the clearly capable hands of the pixies.

Sir Oscar Amon - I have a question for you

He asked as if she knew he wanted to question her. The real question was what about.

Emily - Shoot.

She replied in a kind but reluctant tone.

Sir Oscar Amon - How did you get here?

Emily - ....Through a magic portal in my dryer. Why do you ask?

She said beginning to wonder where they were going, as the noise of the busy village of pixies, fauns, and a million other magical creatures began to fade in the distance.

Sir Oscar Amon - How did you think the portal got in your dryer?

Emily - I...I haven't the slightest idea. Do you know how it got there?

She studdered as she thought about this. Then she thought to herself "how come I never thought about this?"

Sir Oscar Amon - It was the result of a cry for help.

Emily - From you?

Sir Oscar Amon - No.

Emily - Then where did it come from?

She wonder. Perhaps another witch or wizard sent it. Maybe they were in grave danger and needed urgent help!

Sir Oscar Amon - Aelfdene.

Emily - "Aelfdene?" What's "Aelfdene?"

Sir Oscar Amon - Not what, where.

Emily - OK where is "Aelfdene?"

Sir Oscar Amon - Here. Aelfdene is all the land as far as you can see. It is everything here. Your home is the dimension of Earth, because that is where life lives so that is its name. Aelfdene is the planet that supports life here so we call this dimension Aelfdene.

Emily - Oh well that makes sense. But why did Aelfdene call out to me?

Sir Oscar Amon - Because... Aelfdene is dying.

Emily - What but how? Why? Since when? And...

She took a deep breath trying to prepare herself for the end of her question.

Emily - Why me?

Sir Oscar Amon - Were here.

He said clearly avoiding her question. In front  of them stood a cave. The entrance was easily nine foot tall. It was pitch black. And when Sir Amon waved his hand and light shot out of it and into the cave, it was as if the cave swallowed the light whole. Making it look like a black hole.

Sir Oscar Amon - The answers you seek are in there.

Emily - Um... you mean you want me to go into the small black hole?

Sir Oscar Amon - OK one it's a cave and two...

He cleared his throat and his eyes started to glow a bright neon green. The green seemed to consume his dark brown, almost black eyes.

Sir Oscar Amon - Follow the light. It will show you what you wish to know. It will guide you on your path if you let it.

He said in a sort of mystical voice, clearly not his own. It was like he was in a trance, and something was possessing him.

Emily - How do I let it guide me?

Sir Oscar Amon - Follow the light Emily. I need your help to survive. Go into the cave. Please.

Now it was clear. It was not Sir Amon she was speaking to it was Aelfdene, the spirit of the planet beneath her feet.

Emily - Okay I'll do whatever it takes to help you.

As those final words left her mouth she turned to the cave. And sure enough there was the little ball of light waiting for her at the entrance.

Emily - Wish me luck!

She said as she entered the cave with the little ball of light.

Sir Oscar Amon - Good luck Emily Price.
