Returning Back!

Ten years have passed since that day on which Drog set out into the unfamiliar world of cultivation. Those ten years, he spent by going from place to place and learning everything that Liu Ri taught him. And she taught him many different things, from those that seemed trivial to those that seemed crucial.

Drog was currently sitting on the edge of the cliff with his legs crossed and eyes closed shut. Below the cliff, laid a village in which he lived for far longer than in any other village. Three years, he lived in this village and the reason why was simple. It was because of an orphan girl named Lucia, who was shunned by the villagers because of her creepy appearance. She had pale white skin, long silver hair, milky white round eyes and was now seven years old.

Focusing on his surroundings, Drog sensed the world Qi everywhere: in the air, the trees, the plants, the grass, the ground and in the village below. He focused on the Qi which was everywhere but the village and it all rushed towards him at a frightening speed. It entered through his skin, rushed through his strong and thick meridians into his devourer dantian. As the Qi emptied from the air, it became hard to breathe. As it emptied from the plants, the grass and the trees, they all wilted and died. As it emptied from the ground, it turned grey and cracked.

"The only Qi that remains here is in that village. But I suggest against devouring it as righteous sects would be sure to investigate. And you are no match for anyone as you are yet to even break into rank 1 of the martial mortal realm," Liu Ri's voice sounded in Drog's head.

"Those villagers might die today regardless of whether I devour them or not," Drog said to Liu Ri in his head. He opened his eyes and turned his head back. "What do you want to do, Lucia? Do you want to kill them before we leave?" he said.

Drog followed Lucia with his eyes as she walked up and stopped beside him. She looked down at the village and after a few minutes of silence said, "Don't worry, big sister Ri. I won't do anything to harm big brother Drog." She turned her head to Drog. "Let's leave, big brother Drog."

"I see," Drog said. He closed his eyes and focused on the village. The Qi from all the villagers that were yet to reach the realm of rank 1 martial mortal burst out of their bodies which killed them; more than half of the villagers died. The Qi rushed at Drog and entered his dantian.

"Big brother Drog, you…"

Drog opened his eyes and stood up.

"You should find a sect to join as they are built on the Qi crystals," Liu Ri said.

Drog nodded his head in agreement. "Alright."

"What sect are we going to join, big brother Drog?"

"We will join the sword sect. But before we do, there is something I have to do first."

"Mhm?" Lucia tilted her head slightly to the left.

Drog followed by Lucia walked to the village that the previous Drog called home. "Nothing changed," he thought as he and Lucia looked around the village. "Let's go," he said.

Lucia turned her head to Drog. "Mhm," she said as she nodded her head.

Drog led Lucia to the house that the previous Drog used to live in and pushed the door. The door opened but with a sound of someone falling. They saw a boy sitting on his buttocks and the boy started crying.

"What happened, Jin!" a shout came from inside the house and a few seconds later a woman appeared. Her eyes glued onto Drog.

Drog smiled and he with Lucia entered the house. The door behind them closed. "It has been a while, big sister Ri."

Lucia looked at Drog with confusion both on her face and in her eyes. "Big sister Ri?" she mumbled.

"Dro—Drog?" big sister Ri said.

"What is it, big sister Ri?"

Big sister Ri approached Drog. She walked past the boy that she called – Jin. But as she walked past him, he hugged her leg and cried out, "Mommy!" She looked down at her leg.

"Your son?" Drog said.

Big Sister Ri looked at Drog and absentmindedly nodded her head. "Yes—Drog where were you? Where were you for the last ten years?"

"I was here and there."

Big Sister Ri frowned. "Where specifically? And why did you run away?"

"Mommy!"

"What is it, Jin?"

"I don't like him!"

"He is really nice and won't do you any harm."

"I don't like him!"

Big Sister Ri shook her head. "Let go of my foot." She turned her head to Drog. "Tell me where were you for the last ten years?"

"Big sister Ri, I didn't come here to catch up. I came here for one and one thing alone. I came here to hear you apologise."
