I looked around and realized I was in deep shit. The Reed brothers had brought me to a dark warehouse and it was clearly infused with crazy dark magic. It completely kept me from opening any portals, and nothing had ever been able to stop me from portaling before. I tried to access my second sight as well but it was as if I were rendered completely human. I don't know how they live with such limited abilities. It was so frustrating. As I sat there, frustration growing, I looked around the dark space they'd stuck me in. It smelled of trash and there was only a bit of light coming in from the double doors they'd locked heavily in place. What the hell were they planning on doing with me, and what did they know about Erin?
Suddenly, I heard noises in what sounded like a hallway coming toward me.
"Let's check on Sergei, see if the sonofabitch is ready to talk yet," said a deep hissing voice that he didn't recognize. "He'll talk if he knows what is good for him."
I scanned the room again, hoping to find something to defend myself with but there was nothing there. The only thing in the room was the smell of must and the bricks lining the walls. I decided to take a closer look at the bricks while I heard them messing with their assortment of locks on the doors, that they had assembled from an apparent jumble of chains, heavy furniture, and other random crap.
As I looked more closely and felt my way along the bricks in the dim light, I found one that was a bit loose-- and it was right at a water connection, fitted with a heavy hose hookup fixture. I used the fixture to jostle the bricks and using all of my strength, I managed to pry the pipe connection loose. Perfect, now I had a chance to fight back!
They finally finished undoing all of their locks and I hid at the edge of the door frame as they began to enter the room. They didn't see me at first, and the element of surprise was on my side. I took the pipe piece and clocked the first thug on the back of the head. He fell to his knees, and then to the floor with a little whimper. With one out of the way, I had a two on one fight and felt a surge of confidence as I wielded the pipe like a mace, and struck the second good with all my strength across his jaw. He didn't fall over but he was momentarily dazed. With that, I took my chances and ran out of the dank room as fast as I had ever run before. The third guy was hot on my heels, so I stopped abruptly, and he ran straight into me. I took that momentary advantage to hit him anywhere I could. I only managed to scrape his shoulder, but the pipe rendered it a painful blow. He winced and grabbed his shoulder, but then cast out his right hand and hit me with a deadly uppercut.
The punch dazed me and I was unable to run because my head was spinning. He jumped at his chance and threw his body on me and wrestled me to the ground. I continued trying to hit him with the pipe but several swings were ineffective. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I managed to land a fierce blow to his temple and he went limp on top of me. I rolled his heavy body off of me and got to my feet. I looked around and just took off running, no idea if I was running in the right direction to get out of this hellhole.
