"Okay, stupid question time," Juni said. "How the hell are we taking this base?"
"Juni, if it is a stupid question, then don't say it. You lower the IQ of the whole team." I remarked. I heard Juni snarl in annoyance. I stared at my bracelet's screen. I had sent two soldiers up and scout it out. Now I was watching the cameras on their helmets. The Legion swarmed the base. Double than what was there last time. I guess they didn't like us killing them.
"There." One of the women said. I glanced at her name tag. Clare. A common Lexian name. "The place is built into a mountain, right?"
"Right?" I agreed, wondering what she was getting at. The woman frowned for a moment and shifted closer to the screen.
"That means they won't be expecting an attack from the mountain, see all their forces are at the gate." She said. I looked at the video. She was right, most of the Legend forces were clustered around the gate and front walls.
"So we make three teams," I concluded. Two on the mountain and one in the trees. "Who is good at climbing trees?"
"What?" Juni asked. I ignored him and scanned the crowd as six people raised their hands like children in a class.
"Okay, you six are with me. We're going to climb the trees, hide in the branches and keep their attention. Clare, you take half and go up the east side of the mountain. Legend, you have the rest for the west side." I commanded. Legend and Clare gave me a short nod. The rest of the soldiers split themselves up. Nine with Legend and eight with Clare. "Wait until my signal to open fire. Clare, meet up with the scouts and take them with you."
I watched everyone nod. Fear burned in my stomach. I knew this mission was wrong. Can we actually take this base back? No. Of course not. But I have to try. Then I'm killing my sister.
"Alright. Good luck, everyone." I nodded. With that, we split up. My team getting closer to the base before climbing the burnt trees and jumping through them to get closer. It was a good thing the forest had once been dense. I opened my bracelet and watched as everyone's tracker moved. This may be the dumbest thing I've ever done.
