Warlock's Staff (Part 1)

"So they really are here…"

Faustina's eyes were glued into the entirety of the space. Inside the maid's chambers was a large dimension that is enclosed with gloom. It was disproportionate to the area outside. A maid's chamber shouldn't be THIS vast. But then again, they were in a space that is modified to be an exam ground.

Faustina shouldn't be surprised, but she was. By the end of the darkness shed light. In that light were a beautiful woman and a corpse. The corpse was lying on the lap of the woman, who was humming a lullaby softly. The language wasn't Mystisch—it sounded ancient, and none in the room understood.

Except for Faustina.

"What is she singing?"

"It's the old language of the forgotten country… I think."

Faustina paused. Why is she able to understand it, then? Faustina listened to the humming. The words the woman was singing were being converted to the common tongue in her head. Faustina was frozen on the spot.
