Being in Her Late 20's Didn't Help

Deep in her thoughts, Liz was forcefully stricken awake from her turmoil of thoughts. Aside that, she was also very shocked a an angelic and delicate cry coming from a child at her backseat.

'Wait, a child?' Liz glanced at her rearview mirror and immediately saw a child about three years of age with tears in his eyes.

He must have dreamt about his mother that made him cry full out the next, bawling loudly with his balled hands on his eyes. His hiccuping and loud crying made Liz almost immediately and instinctively go up to him and hug him. Comfort him with words while lulling him to sleep.

But she hesitated and almost laughed at herself in irony. Who was she? She wasn't related to this kid. She even didn't know where this kid popped up out of the blue. She was even about to cry out of panic from what she did earlier but the kid already beat her to it.

Being a woman at her late 20's didn't help. With her maternal instincts kicking in and wanting to have a family and have an adorable baby didn't help. That's why she hesitated.

'I must be crazy' Liz thought before going out of her car and opening the other door at the back.

Yeah, she gave in to her hormones.

She may look very hard and tough on the inside but she's very soft on the inside, especially when she sees anything adorable, much more an adorable baby that melts your heart with just one look of its glassy and innocent eyes.

She climbed in next to the brawling kid with his hands still on his eyes, oblivious to Liz already sitting beside him.

Even though Liz was already a mature woman at the age of 27 who experienced a lot in her life, never would she expect to falter and panic so much on how to comfort a crying baby.

Aside from that, she never had parents to set an example for her to follow. She was clueless on how to calm a crying kid.

So she did what her heart told her to do at that very moment. She hugged the crying kid to her bosom. Patting his back with her hands. After sometime of hesitating and arguing with her inner self, Liz whispered some comforting words to the kid, albeit awkwardly.

"It's gonna be fine, so stop crying okay?" Liz tried to make her voice as gentle as possible unlike her normal detached sounding voice. With her soothing words, it made the scene so ever heartwarming.

Upon sensing the warm hands and the soft bosom wrapping him in comforting embrace, Alex's bawling finally ceased into sobs.

Although, at first, Liz sounded awkwardly but after continuously repeating it, she got used to it and eventually the comforting words were able to come out of her mouth as smoothly.

She patiently waited until the child completely stopped sobbing. Even though she would like to stay this way for the longest time, she still parted with the kid to look at him.

She giggled at the appearance of the kid at the moment. His face was full of dried tears and his nose was red from crying. He looked so adorable that she couldn't stop a small giggle to come out of her lips.

She instinctively wiped the kids leftover tears from his cheeks with a loving gaze that she even didn't know was there.

'Such an adorable kid.'

Amidst all that, Alex, the name of the kid was gazing up at this beautiful and warm woman who comforted him awhile ago.

He was looking at her with his glassy eyes that seemed to contain amazement and awe.

He was dreaming about his mommy leaving him quite a moment ago even though he still hasn't met her, he probably won't meet her. That's why he woke up sobbing and bawling loudly.

Alex really liked that embrace he recieved a while ago. Unlike the short hugs and hard chest of his father, he really liked the hug of this beautiful wo--- no, his beautiful mommy.

As if the kid realized something, his eyes glistened whilst still looking towards his 'mommy'.

Liz was still wiping his face with her handkerchief when the kid spoke immediately stopping her actions.

"Mommy! I found you."
