While Kishtan upgraded his pet and tested his body's capabilities and skills, the outside world had gone mad about the game, that the beta testers had checked.
The interview had gone viral after the fact was revealed that the NPCs knew about the outside world and wanted them to upload it into the internet for unlimited data capacity. And, although the managers didn't want to do so, they had been threatened by multiple, big organisations to make it public, since they didn't want the company to profit from it alone. So, they had to agree, although unwillingly.
Through the fact that the players were able to convert coins into real world money, the decline in workers that worked or applied for jobs had decreased drastically and some companies had to close down already and they won't be the last. Bob, in his ordinary flat in a big skyscraper had his capsule already paid when he was at the testing and was able to get it delivered to him directly. Currently, he set up the capsule for him to immediately log in when the game went viral. It had already been seven days since the beta testing and through the news in the television he saw how the world had changed. The streets that were full of life, were now left alone and nobody walked across them. If someone did, they probably had to buy a capsule as a late customer or started buying nutrient for the capsule, as they didn't have to eat anymore and only make money and live in the game, for either nutrition and money to pay for resident and to buy nutrition for the body to not die out. But on the website of the game, there was a link to the forum, which was a higher click and chat rate so that if you asked a question, it will just be scrolled over, since you wanted to come to the bottom of the chat and see the newest news. Either that, or you watched a beginner's guide for the game, made by the Dragon rising company and the beta testers.
On the forum, I saw many questions that I would be able to answer but didn't have the time to since from all over the world, the people wanted to voice their opinion and the question was literally washed out of my screen and new comments appeared.
Exiting, I saw that a new announcement had appeared on the first site of the game's website. It was a timer published by the managers, telling us when the game will go viral. And what stood there, let me jump out of my chair and I started screaming: "Hell! They want to start the game tonight? That the fastest release of such a massive game that had happened ever."
I shut down the computer and looked into my fridge and then at my clock. Nearly nothing there anymore and already 8 o'clock. "Holy mother of god!", I ran out, down the skyscraper and across the empty streets, hoping that there would still be some packs of nutrients left for me to buy. But just as I wanted to enter the shop, the last customer walked out and the shopkeeper closed the door and hanged the shop closed sign on it.
Turning around, I see that the customer, a young and beautiful woman, had started walking away and I shouted to her: "Hey, you there, slow down. I want to buy some packs of nutrients of you. I forgot to buy them." Or that is what I said, because the company didn't give me any nutrients for the capsule and I was too busy, installing the capsule in my house, and now, it was too late and the shops had closed or had already selled all their stocks of nutrients.
Arrogantly, she turned around and looked at me, seeing only the poor clothes on me and immediately her attitude, which had already been bad, went down a few degrees. "Why should I? Looking at you, I am not even sure if you have bought a capsule and only want to scam me to sell it at a higher price to others that have the same problem as you and have the money to buy it at your exaggerated price. So, the answer will be no!" With that, not even leaving me a chance to say anything, she left. I stood there, my mouth wide open and was surprised by her reaction. Did I look that poor and dirty? No way, it probably just was the oil and other stuff that had spilled on my clothes during the installation of my capsule. Depressed, I slowly walked back and saw many new posters, saying that different companies recruited players to play in their clans and others told about factories who wanted people to come and create a supply of nutrients for the players at their factories. Coming back, I walk along the street and see through the window into the butchery. There, a cow was currently slaughtered and the weirdest thing was, I wasn't disgusted. I looked at it and it got weirder and weirder. The head of the cow was cut off and blood spurted out, but instead of looking away or fainting like before, I stood there and watched the process happening, studying the technique how it was cut off. Then the butcherer noticed me and closed the window with a blind. Finally at my flat again, I still felt like some other person and had to perceive my surroundings again.
Three hours later, the countdown had concluded and every person on Earth that had bought a capsule, approximately 2'500'000'000 people, for each 300 credits and the nutrients for 10 credits a pack, each 10 packs per person, the made a saving of 1 trillion, which was more than a single person could ever have, but as they had to give of 10% income to Kishtan as gold coins, made the company's people furious. After all, they had lost 100 billion credits to an in-game-deity, that wouldn't even benefit them in the future.
In Bob's flat however, he had a crisis and didn't know what to do. "I will just buy them tomorrow, in the afternoon." If that happened to be true he will not know yet but the game finally started and putting off the clothes, he climbed into the pod and closed the lid above him.
A screen appeared, showing the percentages of how much he was immersed already and finally, it reached the 100% mark and he once again appeared in a cave, together with Mo'sam who was curing his body and watching for it the whole time. "Welcome back to the living, master."
