I’m Hungry

I hear the echoes of the laughter of my kidnappers like I just said something funny.

"So what, you're grandma's gonna cook dinner for you? The man with a wind tattoo on his shaved head said. "Boo-hoo." Imitating a crybaby.

I avoided these people's gazes and looked at the small tattoo on my right foot.

"3...", I thought. I focused on the blue and red line tattoo, intersecting each other forming an 'X' on my right foot. The red line glowing brightly.

I feel the cold and hard butt of the gun hit my head, making me lose focus.

"Huh," one of the kidnappers said. "Speak up!"

"2..." I thought.

"He won't talk," one replied, laughing. "He'd only talk to his grandma." Laughing ensued.

"1..." I thought. The laughter ceased when the lights began to flicker. On and off. On and off. Then, the lights turned off once again but a bloodcurdling scream of one of my kidnappers can be heard. The lights turned on and I see one of them lying on the ground, unmoving. His head shattered and all of his innards exposed.

"What the fuck!" The man with a shaved head shouted.

The lights turned off again and the red line on my foot glowed brightly, giving off an eerie vibe.

"Who the f--" One of them trailed and choking sounds can be heard.

All of them are now shouting and gunshots can be heard. Until it was only silence.

The lights turned on once again. All of them lying on the ground, lifeless. It was a morbid view and a woman with a white robe, draping all over her body can be found in the middle. Her face looked like it came from a horror/monster movie with a blue and red line on her forehead, forming an X, like mine. It was grotesque. Her mouth was covered with blood.

She slowly took steps towards me and her face started to shift to look like an elderly woman, innocent.

"Good thing you called," she said, smiling with blood still dripping from her mouth. The tattoo on her forehead is still there.

"Yeah," I replied. "Thanks for helping me, Grandma."

The red line did not glow but the blue did. It was glowing a pale blue light.

"Of course!" She said, seemingly excited. "I made a pact, didn't I?"

"Yeah," I replied, managed to smile at her. "Help me with this?" Motioning at the rope tying my body.

"Of course!" She said.

After cutting the rope, I got up and hugged her.

"Thank you," I whispered.

She nodded and smiled at me. I can see her face shifting. I know that expression. She wasn't transforming into a demon, she needs to go back to the Underworld. She tried to speak but nothing came and she just became dust.

I was left alone in this strange place with dead bodies lying around. I looked at my tattoo and the blue line's glow started to fade until it looked like an ordinary tattoo.

I found the exit of the warehouse and saw myself standing in a dark forest. I'm lost. I grabbed my phone and called a number.

"Grandpa, I'm lost."

The good thing about having a family of dead people is that they're just one call away.
