Chapter 47: The Mental Trauma

"It's not necessary." Qin Nanyu's lips opened, a wise glimmer showing in his eyes. He walked past the housekeeper and left the study.

When he came downstairs, all the servants were waiting, and Qin Morui's nanny stood in front of the group. When the young master was found missing, she was anxious and could hardly sit still.

When the woman saw Qin Nanyu come downstairs, she rushed forward, as if she was about to kneel for forgiveness.

Qin Nanyu's eyebrows knit together as he asked the housekeeper to help her up.

"The young master has just come back from abroad. He has never been on his own... If something happened..." The nanny's eyes were red as she blamed herself.

Hearing her words, Qin Nanyu looked up. His cold gaze swept over everyone in the living room.

"What happened today was an accident. I will not make anyone responsible. You don't have to look for him. He is not lost. Everyone, return to your post and resume work."

"..." Everyone was shocked, no one dared to ask.

People quickly scattered from the living room.

The housekeeper picked up surveillance footage from gate security and gave a report.

"Sir, the guards have checked the comings and goings of the mansion in the last two hours, they were sure the young master has not left the front entrance. The walls are so high, could the young master have gone out the back entrance?"

The housekeeper thought the idea was incredible himself.

The back entrance had been sealed off since before Qin Nanyu came back from abroad.

Grownups couldn't leave, much less a four-year-old kid.

Qin Nanyu's mouth turned up as he looked at the housekeeper, "Is there even a back entrance to the Qin mansion?"

"No... no... how did the young master leave?" The housekeeper was puzzled.

The man seemed to think of something as he looked up at Qin Nanyu, "You don't want us to look because you think the young master is still here? But we searched the whole mansion, there's no sign of him."

Before the housekeeper finished talking, Qin Nanyu walked out of the living room to survey the backyard, then he walked toward the front entrance.

He walked to an obscure part of the outer wall. With his arms around his shoulders, he waited.

The housekeeper was confused.

"Sir, the wall has been made taller, there's no way the young master could climb it. Why are we waiting here?"

"Shh..." Qin Nanyu pressed his lips with a finger, motioning the man to stay quiet.

One minute.

Three minutes.

Ten minutes.

After about half an hour, there came a slight rustling sound from inside the wall.

The housekeeper was so nervous he couldn't even breathe deeply.

He stared up at the tall wall until his neck felt sore, but there was no trace of anyone, just the odd sound.

Like a puppy crawling across the grass.

Before the housekeeper realized what had happened, a small head had peeked out of the shrub near the foot of the wall.

Immediately, two small hands reached out to stick on the ground, followed by a small body who swiftly crawled out of the wall.

The young master didn't realize his activity was all seen by two pairs of eyes nearby. As the boy patted down the grass bits on his suit and prepared to declare the success of his mission, a shadow fell over him.

With a mocking tone, Qin Nanyu said, "Is it fun crawling through dog doors?"
