The Rising Fox Sect 2

Zheng Chao was feeling himself in a pickle right now.

On the other hand, he now saw the glimmer of hope escaping this net the Rising Fox Sect had set upon them. This glimmer of hope of his lied in a small gap between those neophytes of them, a gap just large enough for them to escape.

'Thank god that their cultivation is so easy to discern' He thought and begun messaging Xiao Fan with his eyes what his plan was.

Xiao Fan, who was on the side listening, waiting for the order from Zheng Chao, realised his plan from the eye contact and prepared for it.

¨Oh Elder Meng wants to take them to the Rising Fox Sect? I don't think that the person behind you agrees¨ Zheng Chao spoke, then his eyes wandered over her body as if he saw someone else behind her.

Meng Chin got the suggestion of Han Bai behind her and slowly, faking fearful, for it being so turned around.

But there was no one there?

At the same moment, Meng Chin had turned around, Zheng Chao almost like a missile forced himself through the cap with Xiao Fan and the others just meters behind him.

Yet Meng Chin being fooled like this wasn't distressed by it 'Well, you saved us some time' she thought.

They wanted them to run away some more anyway, a battle between them here could have been heard by everyone around them.

Them running away from everyone else would only serve them well, and so now the search for Xiao Fan had turned into herding of the cornered prey. Meng Chin even acted a little dumfounded, giving them more time to run before with not less speed rushed after them.

Meanwhile, in the front, Zheng Chao was going over his possibilities of losing them right now.

There was a lot of plans, yet none of them was good.

He could stay and fight them alone, giving the three of them enough time to lose the hunters, or he could use their own smokes to alert everyone in the forest, then hoping that his men would be here first.

But those two plans, of course, weren't any better than running like this, yet how long could they run like this? What if they run into someone in the forest? It would be much more likely to run into an enemy than a friend.

It was beginning to feel that he would need to stay behind and slow down the enemy approach while giving Xiao Fan and them some time.

The only good thing right now was that the people hunting them were the Rising Fox Sect since if the Bald Eagle Dynasty catches Xiao Fan would it be more harmful.

Nevertheless, Zheng Chao didn't have much time to ponder about the options, as he could already see them catching up when he looked over his shoulder.

¨Xiao Fan you try to escape. I'll hold them back!¨ He shouted when they got into the mouth of a ravine. Zheng Chao then let them go into the ravine while, he, himself stopped there and prepared to welcome an entire company under a sect elder.

The disciple of the Rising Fox Sect seeing this stopped in their tracks when they saw someone on the level of Zheng Chao in front of them. But only for a moment as they began to surround him, pushing his sides like they were trying to get into the ravine.

Though this was only a play that Zheng Chao didn't see through.

The real drive was already past him in the form of the sect elder herself and a few other neophytes taking a cave route that they knew of. Han Bai's map was now being used to herd the prey into a nice bite that could be taken in one intact bite.

While this was going on.

Xiao Fan and the girls didn't know about this, they were much more focused on getting away from their enemies than anything else.

Even the two women of his, who were so calculative by nature didn't try to think of traps or anything that could possibly be here or there.

The three of them were by now starting to feel how hundreds of people had already given their lives to get them this far, plus they didn't want to be prisoners anyway.

Everything else also added in they weren't thinking very much anymore, all of them just wanted to escape this hunt where they were the prey.

And they did run in peace for some ten minutes.

Even beginning to think that Zheng Chao should still last maybe a one or two minutes before he would either die or would need to let them pass.

Xiao Fan felt that Zheng Chao shouldn't die for them.

He had already become hugely appreciative of him even if he was in this for himself because even if it was so, he had put them even over his own life not talking about hundreds of others.

There was also the favours he would need to pay him, and Xiao Fan as a respectable man would want those to be repaid to him and not his family.

Now was not the time for him to die.

Xiao Fan would want him coming back alive he thought as they now feel the heat on their trail to slow down only due to his efforts.

However, everything would quickly change as soon they got out of the ravine into a more mountainous region behind which lied the Liang Dynasty. From here they would only need to traverse pass these mountains, and then the border guards would undoubtedly pick them when they came down the hill.

The thing that changed this was when they saw more disciples of the Rising Fox Sect already waiting for them on the other side.

'How the fuck they are here already' All three of them seeing this had the same thought.

Even Xiao Fan, who had said that he would need to work on thinking about the next action and not think like this couldn't right do it.

The first, one of them to calm down and think was Du Lan ¨They are only those neophytes. Zheng Chao is keeping the elites, for now, so cut straight through them!¨ She yelled while herself already taking out her bow.

Xiao Fan and Qian Ki hearing this didn't do anything else and acted upon her order. And so moments later, both of them were charging into the middle of this formation side by side.

From the corner of his eye, Xiao Fan as he was charging watched closely to see for the first time how Qian Ki's eyes turned blood red and how she went into her battle mindset.

What was even weirder was that when Qian Ki felt the huge need for slaughter, Xiao Fan also got the same type of intentions from a certain spot of his mind as if he had another person thinking for him inside his own brain.

However Xiao Fan didn't go crazy for slaughter like Qian Ki did from it, the notion for him was more of a feeling that he knew what Qian Ki would be doing.

And the want to help her unleash herself.

This feeling was very faint, disturbingly faint, yet when he followed this notion for he was too curious, it worked wonders.

Qian Ki's current state where she was a beast who could only see slaughter had a major weakness in it.

It was that she didn't see the battle as others did, meaning for an example where someone else would retreat, she would still attack with a newfound speed that made it possible for her to succeed.

So when she would work with someone else, the other person would have a troublesome time thinking what her next move would be.

But with the weird suggestions, Xiao Fan felt coming from the spot in his brains he could decipher what her next move faintly was.

He couldn't say what muscle she would use next, but what he could grasp was her next rough ideas or attack pattern.

So to say he knew what she was doing for the next ten seconds or so, and maybe one wouldn't think that was much but reality was very different.

As after it worked well once, Xiao Fan then started trusting these notions he was having and then working based on them.

What happened next was that Du Lan, who was behind them running with her bow trying to get shots in, could see how someone was fighting with Qian Ki coherently. During the last clashes, Du Lan had had a hard time having the faintest idea where to shoot if Qian Ki was close since her actions made no reason.

She had also seen how this was not herself alone, but the elites too, even they couldn't fight with her well. However, currently, she saw something else as when she would look at Qian Ki and what she was doing.

From studying her, she couldn't even see who the opponent she was trying to kill was, and couldn't offer any support fearing that she would hit her.

The difference came when she then took a gaze at Xiao Fan's moves and how he was actually working with Qian Ki.

First, she just presumed that it was luck, they hadn't trained so much together yet, but as more seconds went by, it was too much only to be luck.

For her, it now seemed as if Xiao Fan could read Qian Ki's strategy to some degree?

Du Lan wouldn't act upon it during this fight and would still only shoot the people near Xiao Fan, but she certainly would ask about this later on.

Meanwhile, on Qian Ki's side, she, herself wasn't thinking anything else than ripping the next enemy's throat. That in her mind, however, meant that the real enemy was someone on the side, who she would pounce on suddenly and not the one she was fighting long term.

In this state of hers, where she could only make limited reasonable decisions, letting her instincts rule, but thanks to it, she also saw how Xiao Fan was fighting next to her.

Her man wasn't blocking her own movements?

Everyone else before who she had fought with would always come and meddle in her plans, breaking them apart and so on. However, Xiao Fan during the fight hadn't come to take her kill even once yet was still giving her enough support so that they weren't overwhelmed.

'He's the best!' Was the only thing she could think about it in her current mindset as she went after those few seconds of pondering back to slaughtering.

On the side, Meng Chin who was watching her neophytes fighting the three people outnumbered like hell, was surprised that they yet weren't budging, which made her almost interfere.

Despite it being close Meng Chi still stayed on her spot, she wasn't going to bother even with Qian Ki with her powers and so let the fight go on.

From her perspective on top of a tree.

She could see how the three people were making progress and how it wouldn't even take a minute anymore before they would have slaughtered themselves past the neophytes.

Not caring her eyes then wandered once over Du Lan who had spotted her, yet neither of them acted.

Next, her eyes wandered over to the woman who was the most brutal person she had ever seen in her forty or so years of living.

Still not giving the two much thought either than maybe being a little jealous of their looks, her sight fell upon Xiao Fan.

And as a woman who had lived inside a sect focussing on the path of beauty, she hadn't seen anyone like him yet.

In her eyes, Xiao Fan was different from other men she had seen.

He didn't have the muscles or the face that would be associated with muscular men.

To begin with, Xiao Fan didn't have any meat on his bones, and due to that, his face was more feminine amongst men cultivators and even rarer amongst otherwise beautiful men.

Staring at him, the elder couldn't but think about getting Xiao Fan cornered alone into some cave for her to have some fun.

Meng Chin this in mind had even made a request for these neophytes of hers that they wouldn't only be blocking their escape, but they would also need to break Xiao Fan into a different group somehow.

Waiting for this, the elder began to quietly watch her prey struggling to break free from the first trap she had set. Maybe it was because of her idea, the neophytes lost this round, but anyway, she didn't care a lot about some ugly, weak people dying.

Furthermore, now that the three of them had been gotten out from the jungle and into the mountains, Han Bai would never find them if she didn't say where they were.

Meng Chin in her head had already won everything, and indeed she could at any moment get down the tree and capture Xiao Fan.
