A Side Quest [12]

"So that's your story?" the guard said

"Yes"

"So these guys tried to assault a women and you stopped them?"

"Yes"

"As i remember from hearing your story they claimed to be silver d ranks, how could you a bronze E rank possibly defeat all three of them"

"No i checked their cards they weren't silver rank in reality they were only bronze rank, here"

As the guard checked the card he threw out another question.

"Even so they were a rank higher than you and you were outnumbered"

(Guess i have to come up with a lie)

"Dirty moves that's what i did"

"Dirty moves? What do you mean?"

"If you were uhhhh... lets say you're a gold S rank adventurer and i were to kick you in the balls without you wearing an armor what would happen?"

As the guard was staring at him but he gave up.

(These guys weren't wearing any protection under their soft parts i guess he might be telling the truth but) the guard thought

"Are you an assassin type adventurer?"

"Yes i am"

(I guess with his speed he might have defeated them... ugh fine)

"thank you for catching these lousy adventurers here's your reward"

"Thank you"

Ferris quickly left the guard station in a hurry since he was done with lunch he planned to go raise his rank by finishing quest, if his rank gets higher he can accept more difficult quest and raise his level more since low rank quest don't give much xp.

In order to advance ranks you must complete a required amount of quest to finish.

To advance ranks one must go through a reevaluating test, to do this you just have to touch a magic detector to determine your rank, there have been cases of adventurers who shot from E rank to an A rank but those cases happen rarely,

there is also a law forbidding low ranked adventurers to take quest higer than them because of this you need to take the reevaluation test frequently

Also the adventurer can take the test if he or she pleases.

When he arrived at the guild house he quickly took the available E rank subjugation quests he could find and ran of to the closest receptionist.

"This one please"

"Let me see... this looks kinda hard for an E rank like you but i heard that you quickly finished a subjugation quest with flying colors plus the description says that its for E ranks or higher so good luck!"

[Subjugation quest]

-kill a criminal at the commoner area of the capital,location the deepest parts of the commoner district, the criminal can be spotted near a well.target name Holhor

Reward-1 gold coin.

(This should be easy and the reward is pretty good aswell)

5 mins has gone by, he activated his stealth skill so he could run at his max speed without getting spotted. As he was running towards the commoner district the place started to get stinkier and uglier as he ran by. Since he was in the deepest parts of the commoner district he saw many criminals and passed by many hidden black markets.

(This place... its like there's no law here even murder is probably normal I can't even spot a single dang guard here, just what is the capitals government doing? Must be those filthy rich nobles running aroun-... wait they don't even run)

Just as the quest paper described at the deepest parts of the commoner district there's a well that he saw. Since he was so deep in he can even see the end of the wall. As he was standing there he saw a man near the well, Ferris pulled out his sword.

"Are you that criminal?!"

When he heard his voice the man turned around with a poker face expression.

"Listen kid im no criminal that quest you saw was from a dirty ass noble"

Ferris lowered his sword willing to hear the guy out.

"Did something happen?"

"Hmm your the first one to ask, usually others like you just don't even try to hear me out but i beated them up well so follow me ill tell you"

As they were strolling around he told him the truth in reality a noble put a subjugation quest on him.

"Why would that guy put a subjugation quest on you"

"You see I'm actually a retired silver B rank adventurer and when i was sitting in my house with my wife the noble's guards accused my village of black marketing and his personal guards took the females of the village and just ditched us"

"Your a silver B rank why can't you save them yourself?"

The man pulled his clothes to reveal his chest

"a curse..." Ferris said

"Yeah one of the mages in the guard team placed a cursed on me since they knew i was a silver B rank and they feared that i might rebel against them"

"What's the curse?"

"You see if i ever provoke the noble that stole my wife an electric type magic will activate near my chest and kill me"

"So please" the stranger said

The man turned around to bow deeply and fell from his face.

"P.. please save my wife and the others"

As Ferris was standing there quietly, the request was sudden but the stranger looked pretty desperate for help so he said with a serious expression in his eyes.

"Where's the place?"
