Healing [48]

Sounds of iron wheels rolling against the tracks can be heard, the metal beast cruising throughout the massive school. Sarya got caught by suprise when the train whooshed passed her messing up her hair, she nearly got hit before Kai quickly pulled her away.

"my God, I think I almost died" she said with suprise

You really don't know what to expect in a kingdom that is a hundred years into the future than anybody else. you would see things that you have never seen in your life like food you haven't tasted before. Sarya and the little girl got along well really well, so much that the girl almost forgot what just happened before.

"how is her wound already healed?" Sieg said to Kai

"I haven't seen her cast any heals" Kai replied

It's strange, wounds don't normally heal that fast. All that's left are visible scars on her cheeks and that's it apart from the blood stains she has painted on her fingers, she really forgot about everything that happened. It's curious, it's like Sarya has a bubble of healing, well she is considered a hero after all. She got picked out of seven billion humans, and the other billions of different races. In fact there are even historical cases of gnomes being heroes.

"oh, let's have some tea shall we" the girl asked

"of course" Sarya answered

They casually drinked their tea in the shade of some large tree, the tree didn't fully gave them a complete shadow because of the spaces between the leaves so it made them look like that they have glowing shapes painted on their bodies.

Eventually the girl noticed that her arm is a little stained with a red color, she was shocked for a moment there until she remembered what happened ten minutes ago. She didnt start frying again though, she took it a little be more strongly as if she had an ammunity to crying.

"oh, I can't believe I forgot but... Your name?"

"Egam.. But it's pronounced Ey-gam. I never really knew why my parents named me this way" Egam answered

"I see~..."

The winds breezed by them as the crowds go about on their daily lives, you could see mages wearing robes and pointed hats that almost covered their entire faces. It's like a theme park for various mages and tourist, but most of them are students that are just roaming around.

There were towers that sliced through the clouds like a pencil holder holding pencils with different length, only a bit more distance between them. There were shops littered around every corner, Wands n Staffs, skill stones, books, Cafe, restaurants, you name it and it's almost guaranteed to be there. The school can even fund itself if it has too, even Harvard might be shaking right now.

Egam looked at the streets only to find her friends... well they used to be. She felt a dreadful feeling building up from inside her stomach, but she swallowed it and only left a sigh coming out from her mouth.

"What are you ganna do now? They stabbed you in the back didn't they?" she asked, looking her dead in the eyes

"well..."

She couldn't find herself to answer what Sarya gave her, she only looked at the stone pavement. Like a depressed person only finding him or herself looking at the ground everyday.

"wow, I can't believe we passed the finals!"

Egam's past friends were casually having a chat, they looked happy at their results. It seemed like they simply forgot about Egam, it's like they didn't give a single thought to her as if she was nothing to them.

"oh yeah, you guys still remember Egam?"

"thank God we had her, she had that useful support and offensive abilities. Luckily she was so obedient, haha!"

"I can't believe she fell for it!"

Egam rolled her eyes up while looking down so she could see her past friends having the best time of their lives, good for them she thought but not for her. She went back at looking at the stone pavement while Sarya rested her head using her hands. How ever something was a little off.

"oi, Charlie.... You look pale" one of Egam's past friend said

"ngh? What do you mean?" he replied

"Charlie... your hand..it's so white"

"oh god" he said to himself

He wasn't the only one to be pale, the girl asking her was too. So as the rest of Egam's past friends and not only them, some of the students were pale. Some of the nearby tourist wizards were pale as well and the normal people. The sky suddenly blackened, so much so that the huge floating colloseum got covered with rainy clouds. All this happened in a short span of time, something definitely wasn't right.

Sarya and Kai experienced this before, the sudden change of people into demons. The students who had their hearts tainted with no regrets, like backstabbing during the finals were affected and some other people too, whatever reason they had for tainting themselves.

Sarya with her instincts quickly unseathed her sword and Kai warmed up his fist by tightly closing it and opening it multiple times. Sieg got a little confused for a while but quickly catched on what's happening right now. Many distant screams erupted out of nowhere. It has begun, the random occurrence of the demon virus.
