The streets were full of horses. They carried goods and passengers. We walked down the streets while I was checking the leftover coin that I put in a brown bag.
"How much do we have, Wilson?" Cecile asked me as she peeked into the bag.
"Looting from dead bodies two days ago, I got about 100 copper coin, 50 silver coin, 20 gold coin, and 10 platinum coin," I said as I closed the bag.
"Wow, that's a lot," Garth said with a surprised face.
"Well, we killed about 250 bandits two days ago. That is not a big surprise," I said.
"Where is the equipment store?" Garth asked annoyingly.
"How should I know? Ask Maria," I said while raising both of my hands with a height of my waist showing confusion.
"It's not far from here," Maria said.
"There it is," Cecile shouted while pointing her finger to the store.
We entered the awkward-looking store. The store had a sword, dagger, war hammer, staff, wand, bow, magical device, spear, and battle-axe.
"Welcome to my store. How may I help you?" A bald and bearded blacksmith greeted politely to us. He was in his mid-twenties if I can say.
I was looking around the display and confused about what should I buy. The money wasn't a problem. The problem was the practicality of the weapon that he sold.
"Uncle blacksmith, do you have any recommendations for us?" Garth asked him while putting his hands on the counter.
"Well, it depends on your combat style," the blacksmith replied.
"The girls here are using magic as their weapon, but they also skillful in swordsmanship," I added while holding a dagger.
"How about a magical device? They're great when used combined with any melee weapon," The blacksmith said.
"Let me see it then," Maria said.
"Excuse me then," He said as he walked to the back room of his store.
The blacksmith left us, and we were waiting while looking at the display cabinet.
"Look at this battle-ax Wilson," Garth asked while holding an iron battle-axe.
"It's good, but it's unsuitable for you," I said to him.
"How about this staff, Wilson? Does this look cute?" Maria said while holding a mostly white staff but lovely staff.
"Cute and practical are never in good conjunction. The case is the same with this staff. In a cave, your movement will be limited," I said to Maria.
"Wilson, this armor suits me, right?" Cecile said as she pointed her finger to an armor display near the window.
It's a plate armor that covers the user's entire body. It's the kind that a knight will use. Heavily armored and heavy, it's a pride for a knight. Mobility was pretty limited with that armor.
"Are you sure about that? I'm not against it, but I think it will limit your mobility," I said.
"You're right," She said.
The blacksmith came back from the back room, holding some kind of ring on his hand.
"This is a magical device. It will enchant your magic attack by four times," He said as he handed the silver-colored ring to the girls.
"Well, where we can test it?" Cecile asked.
"Follow me," he said.
He led us to the back room and past the furnace to the backyard. The backyard had three training dummies with a grassland view in the background.
"You may test your weapons here," he said.
"Thank you, sir," I said.
"You're welcome," he said.
Maria and Cecile wore the ring that the blacksmith gave. The ring was a silver ring with an ornament inside it. From outside, it just looks like an ordinary ring. The blacksmith was smiling proudly of his creation.
"Hmm, I don't feel anything," Maria said as he gazed at the ring.
"Same, is these things work?" Cecile said.
The blacksmith looks surprised, "You don't know how magical device works?"
"No, we don't, I thought magic would get stronger by training," I said to him.
"That's not wrong, but that's also not an instant way either," he said.
"Let me try it [Ignite]," a massive fireball appeared in front of Cecile's hand.
The fire wall was bigger than what Cecile usually uses. It was so big that I fear that the fireball will burn the blacksmith house.
"Cecile, lower the magic power, or you will burn his house," I told her.
"Ok, Wilson," the fireball got smaller and safer than the fireball before.
"How much power do you spend?" I asked her.
"About a quarter of the original spell requirement," Cecile said
"Oh, it's nice, so the next time you cast the [Tornado], you won't get exhausted," I said to her.
"Who are you really? A bunch of kids that can do chantless and military-grade spell," the blacksmith really got surprised.
"We are just ordinary kids that trained hard every day," I said with a straight face.
"Ok, I see. So are you going to buy the device or No?" He asked.
"How much?" I asked him.
"You see, because of the super rare and expensive material. It will cost you 2 platinum coins each," he said.
"Why does the material are expensive?" I asked him.
"Because it's so hard to find, and it comes from a legendary monster," he said.
"The magic gem?" I asked him while I pointed my finger to the ring.
"Yes, it's a high purity magic stone," he added.
"Oh, I see," I said to him while gave him four platinum coins.
"The rings are our's guys," I shouted. I observed the training ground, and it's big enough for our training, "May we use your backyard?" I asked him.
"Sure, why not?" He said.
"Guys, we may use his backyard for training," I shouted.
"Hurrah," they were happy.
"Uncle blacksmith, could you teach me about the magic device?" I asked him for a favor.
"Sure thing, why not? I need a new apprentice after all," he said ecstatically.
He invited me back inside. He gave me a chair, and he grabbed a book near his store.
"So first lesson, do you know what magic is?" He asked me.
"Eh, no, I don't know what magic is, but I can cast magic," I replied.
"Well, magic is kind of thing that materialized from magic power," he said.
"Nice, where does magic power comes from?" I asked him.
"It comes from all around you, magic is a natural element like air, dirt, and water," he said.
"Ok, How does magical device work?" I asked him.
"Magical device works using magic stone that already engraved with some kind of writing," He said.
"What kind of writing?" I asked him.
"You know, cipher and stuff," he said.
"Teach me about it, please," I asked him.
"Ok, I will give you the most simple way to learn it," he said to me.
"Hurray," I said to him.
Thus I learned magic engineering from him.
