Aftermath of an D.E Op

After 2 hours of flying, we finally arrived at the base air-defense network. We switched the communication to the ATC.

ATC: "Spander and Reader squadron; you may land on runway 4."

Wilson: "Reaper and Spander acknowledge."

They had already started the party without me. The fireworks were blowing in the dark sky.

"Wow," I said as I gazed at the base from the jets.

Torres: "Are you going to land now?"

Wilson: "Not yet lieutenant,"

Torres: "I'm going to land now. See you at the party, Colonel."

Alina: "See you."

Reaper 2: "I'm also going to land. See you at the party general."

Wilson: "Acknowledged."

Two F-22 flew from the formation heading to the base. They left me, Alina, and AWACS Arun in the sky. Because the engine used a molten salt reactor for the engine, we don't have to refuel, and we can fly for an indefinitely amount of time.

AWACS Arun: "I can't land if you aren't landing yet."

Wilson: "You want to join the party?"

AWACS Arun: "Honestly, our crew has already gone nuts because of that."

Wilson: "As a General. I order you to land now."

AWACS Arun: "Are you sure, General?"

Wilson: "I am sure. Now go! That's an order."

AWACS Arun: "Thank you, General. Shutting down communication."

Wilson: "Roger."

The AWACS aircraft went to the base as Alina and I were circling around the base. From our jets, we could see the people already partying and grilled a lot of meat. I was interested, but I felt that I had the responsibility as their bodyguard from above.

"General Galliard, Why don't you join General Blackwell and General Meyer?" Alina asked me with a concerned tone.

"I just had the urge not to land now, Lieutenant Colonel Baladin," I replied to her as I circled around the base.

"Why don't we do an airshow from up here. It could be fun," Alina suggested to me.

"Sure, Why not?" I said to her.

I changed my frequency to the ATC. I heard some party noise from the control tower. From what it looked like, the controller was having a party.

"Spander 1 to ATC, do you copy?" I asked.

"This is General Meyer, How do you do General?" She said drunkenly.

"Mayor General Meyer? Where is the ordinary guy?" I asked her angrily.

"She loses a drinking game with me. Sorry general, but I have to finish another round with Colonel Conver," She said drunkenly.

"General Meyer? Are you there? Lillie? Shit," I said to the radio.

I switched the frequency back to the frequency that Alina and I were listening to since we encounter each other. I turned on the autopilot then turned the G limiter to 1G so I could move freely.

"General Galliard, What happened?" She asked me politely.

"The whole base has gone nuts," I said sarcastically.

I was very pissed off because nobody was sane enough just to give me direction about where should I land. Well, partially it was my fault too because I was the one who suggested them to have a party tonight.

"Let's land now. They told us to land on runway 4, right?" She said to me.

"Oh, right," I ignored my own stupidity and followed her direction. She led the way with me, following her from the back.

We landed our plane and taxi to hangar No.45. Along the way, we saw the soldiers were drunk and walking here and there while holding a bottle of alcohol on their hands. We parked our plane then got out of it. I changed my clothes to ABU uniform then walked out of the hangar with Alina.

"Damn, This is chaos, don't you think so?" I asked for an opinion from Alina.

"I don't think so. This is natural when we have a huge party at the base. I'm looking forward to a good time with a bottle of vodka and some Shaslik," She said.

"You're Russian, aren't you?" I said to her.

"Yes, I am, Now excuse me, General," She said to me.

She walked away from me and headed to the nearest group that held a bottle of vodka. The party was pretty chaotic, but also very fun at the same time. I head to the officer's office.

"General, Good evening. How may I help you?" The secretary asked me.

"Bring a cappuccino to my office, pronto!" I told her.

"Of course general," She said as she stood up from her chair.

I walked to the hallway and opened the commander of the base door, A.K.A Mayor General Lillie Meyer. I knocked on her door, but I got no response. I opened the door and just as I expected; There was nobody there.

I closed the door again and moved to the door beside her office, Brigadier General Abraham Blackwell.

"Excuse me," I said as I knocked on the large brown door.

"Come in," He said from behind the door.

I opened the door and saw him sipping a cup of coffee. He was working on the documents.

"Working overtime, general?" I asked him.

"Yes, why don't you join the party general, Galliard?" He asked me.

"As you can see, I am not old enough to drink," I said to him.

"Oh, I see," He said to me.

"Excuse me, but you have to leave now. You are disturbing me doing my work," He said to me as he began to work on the documents again.

"I shall take my leave then," I said as I left the room.

I closed the door then head to my office. It's at the end of the hallway and had the best door design in that room.

Beside the door, there was a plate with four stars and my name, Wilson Galliard.

I opened the door and sat on the chair in front of the bookshelf. The steaming cappuccino on my desk made the room looks better.

"Neat, huh," I said as I inspected the room.

The room had 1 Luxurious chair behind the wooden desk. The white sofa was placed on the right side of the door, and there was an air conditioner on the left side of the door. Beneath the A/C, there was a window with a view of the base and a view of the forest.

Tomorrow, I had to return to the academy. With the telephone on my hand, I ordered a sortie for an F-35 for a VTOL flight.

I opened a book on my desk, "Well, let's see."
