A speech to a new future

After a few hours of looking through the company's files. Lao yin walks in and bring me a bag and a coffee. He places it on my desk and smile.

"For you miss Lin."

I open the bag and grabbed a sandwich that was cut in half.

"Thank you Lao yin!"

He nods and walks back then stops. He turns back around and looks through his phone.

"M..miss Lin. Mister Lee is waiting for you by my desk."

I put the sandwich back in the bag and stand.

"Tell him to come in."

He nods then walks outs then..he shows up.

"Miss Lin."

He sits on the chair in front of my desk, crossing his legs.

"Mister Lee. What can I do for you?"

He smirks and throw a file on my desk.

"To see my future wife, of course."

My hands start to shake as I grab the file.

"The marriage agreement," i grab a pen and sign my name "there it's signed, now leave me alone."

He stands up and slowly walks towards me.

"Why would I want to leave so soon?" He pulls me "we didn't finish what we started last night."

I push him away and sit on top of my desk, crossing my legs and my arms.

"We didn't start anything mister Xiang. Now please leave."

He turns around and sit down again.

"I think not. I might stay here and watch you for today." He says grabbing a magazine.

I roll my eyes and open the laptop.

For the next few hours, we sit in my office and do our own things in silence until i get a knock on my door.

"Miss Lin, it's time for your company meeting at the hall room. Everyone has left already."

'Right," i grab papers from the desk "lets leave. Mister Lee care to join us?"

He stands and fixes his suit.

"Why not."

We drove to the hall room where everyone one in the company was.

When the doors opened. All eyes were on me. Some smiled and were happy or excited, some were disappointed and some didn't care. The three of us walked on top of the stage. I then begin my speech.

"Good afternoon employees of Lin crown co. As all of you or most of you know, my father has passed on due to a life threatening disease yesterday morning. I know he treated everyone in the company with respect while everyone did the same but now that he is gone. I, Xiaoxiao Lin, only child and daughter of Hu tian Lin, will continue to make Lin crown a company known for success and not failure. I will continue to lead on Lin crown as my father did. I, i am your new ceo. Your new leader. Thank you."

After my speech everyone claps their hands and praises me. I thought to myself, did i do it? Have I succeed? No this is only the beginning.

I look over to Zhi Xiang and he brightly smiles while clapping. He then walks over and grabs me by the waist. Everyone then starts to whisper.

"What are you doing?" I whisper to him trying to push him away.

"Don't worry." He whispers back.

"Hello everyone. Don't fail my beautiful fiancée... and to my fiancée," he turns to me "dont fail on your employees. Cheers!"

The crowd get louder. Everyone cheers with friends and some even come personally up to me and congrats me.

Zhi Xiang then comes up to me with a two glasses of champagne.

"Here," he handed me one of the glasses "to your great speech."

I scoff and take a sip of champagne.

"It seems like your speech made them more excited than mine."

He chuckles, showing his dimples.

"That's true."

I look into my glass and twirl my glass.

"Zhi Xiang, you said you weren't interested in me. So stop getting so close to me and remember the contract it's temporary."

He frowns and place his glass down.

"I know it's temporary. The whole thing is just an act to save the both of us."

I take another sip.

"Right. Just to save us. Excuse me."

I walk away and chat with people. I constantly look back at zhi xiang and i could feel that every time i look, my heart aches. But why?
