01 Kingdom and Tribe

Rashald Kingdom hold thousands of soldiers prepared to defend from the Crescent Barbarian Tribe. Day and night, sounds of the swords clashing can be heard, hammering sounds of smithing could be heard non-stop forging swords and blades and shouts by soldiers in training thundered the hearts of the citizens. All hearts trembles whenever the thoughts of the kingdom will soon be attacked by the Crescent Barbarian Tribe that stories were told they are the worst nightmare across the land.

In the Rashald Kingdom, Castle.

*Gasp, Gasp... (Breathing Heavily)

*Dup, Dup, Dup... (Walking in fast pace)

My King! The barbarian has just passed the Valeria Forest and soon will reach our border. Their army lead by their tribe leader, Khartagu. What is your order, My King? The King face twitch the moment he heard the name, Khartagu. Khartagu was a legend born in the land of the waste, Garlika that full of battle for food, the battle for survival. Borned as the youngest among seven sons of the Crescent tribe leader, he was bullied by his brothers and forced to eat only the leftover. Even his father did not care about him as the brothers are much stronger and able to help him in war. His childhood was full of hatred and anger. Until the Khartagu ages 16, he climbed his way up by earning merit in war and earn the trust of the younger generation in the tribe. Soon, he even killed his six brothers and forced his father to let go of the position as leader. This blood stories gives out fear for the all across the land.

My king! My king! The Minister of War, Baldwin is here. King Herald wake up from his fear when he heard the attendant. Quick! Ask him come in.

Minister Baldwin, the King ask you to go in, said attendant. Minister Baldwin rushes in the room and pay respect to King Herald. King's face is like the word worry wrote on his face. Baldwin, come here..quick. Help me think what can we do to protect the kingdom. Minister Baldwin asks all the minister and commander to the hall to help in strategise a plan on how to defend the attack. The meeting went for a day and a night but there is no improvement in strategy. Suddenly, a messenger rush in and said, "My King! On the east there is enemy troop approaching! There is about 150 thousands in number!".

*Doommm! (The King fell on the throne)

What! Commander Aleon! Go bring your troop and station on the east wall! Minister Baldw.....

My King! Messenger from the north reporting! There is a troop of 100 thousands approaching and there are cages being pulled by the horses. The cages seems to contain.....the messenger does not dare to elaborate further.

Speak! Ordered Minister Baldwin.

"The cages contains humans and there's report stated these hunans are the captives from the villages from border", replied the messenger.

The king was shocked by the sudden news and he stand in rage. He shout, "How dare you, Khartagu! They are my people! They are my children! They are the kingom's children!". Guard! Send my message to Khartagu. Tell him, if he is a true warrior, he should not keep my people in the cages like animal! And tell him, if he wish to conquer my kingdom, come at his full force, I will be waiting to cut his head off. Go!

*Dupdupdupdupdup.... (Guard rush out the hall)

The meeting is over. All commander shall stay full alert and defend the two walls and soldiers who run away, cut... them... down! Go.....

The King sit on his throne and go on his deep thought of the kingdom, the war.

(Six hours later)

My king! Minister Baldwin call the king.

Baldwin, any news from the barbarian? Why your eyes so wet? What happen?

Minister Bladwin cry out loud. My King, Khartagu .. Khartagu... he ordered all captives to beheaded after he recieved the message and spike the heads while send the bodies and placed in front of East Gate and North Gate. He also bald the guard and strip him off to tattoo his message on his body.

The guard is on the verge of dead now. King Herald was so angry till he was unable to voice out. "Bring me to the guard", said the King.

*In the medical corner.

(Voice of the guard screaming for pain and the doctors rushing around to get medicine)

King Herald rush to the guard and hold his hand. His eyes were teary as he look at the suffering of the guard. The guard is one of the twelve personal guard's son whom followed the King since King Herald became the King twenty years ago. King Herald felt that he has betrayed the trust of his people as he unable to protect this man who is at the prime of his life, a twenty plus years old young man. The guard was so deep in pain that he ask in deep reaction, "My King, can you do me a favor....".

"What is it my boy, tell me", replied the King.

"Please end my life and tell my father if he want to revenge...do not ...", the guard died before he manage to speak the last words he wished to tell. He died with the eyes open. Everyone in the room was in grieves and suddenly Minister Baldwin reminds that they need to see the message that tattoed at the guard's body. The doctors turn over the body and King Herald read the message.

*Message

To all mighty King Herald.

As warrior, I let all your people out from the cage.

As warrior, I shall end your kingdom and give peace to my people.

All shall die for my people.

(Back In the room)

Everyone was in deep silent after the message was revealed.

King Herald then slowly command, tell all in the kingdom, we shall fight till the last of us down.

（The next morning....)

The father of the deceased guard meet King Herald and received the body of his son. King Herald bestow the young guard title "The Brave and Valiant Captain" as thank you for the sacrfice for the kingdom. The old guard brings his son's body back home and bury him.

Later that day, King Herald went up the East Wall to check on the Khartagu's army camp. Tens of thousands tent were set up was a frightened view for all, spare not even the commander of east gate. Everyone can imagine what the moment when the soldiers moved out from the tent and form a massive army for battle. From afar the heads of the killed captives can be seen still spiked and placed in front of the camps. King Herald quietly pray in his heart and vowed to kill Khartagu to avenge for the captives death.

*Booo Urhhh (Sounds of the Horn)

Voices of soldiers from Northern Wall shouting can be heard. The enemy army from the North has start marching towards the gate. The soldiers ready their bow and arrow to fire at the barbarians. King Herald was shocked as he thought the enemy will not attack in two more days as there were reports that the enemy has not settle down the camp fully. He rushed with his remaining eleven guards (one guard left to bury his son) to the North Wall. Once he reach, tension of the war can be felt. King Herald is thinking can they defend the wall despite of the overnumbered enemy. All the soldiers he got within the wall is just 80 thousands, lack of 130 thousands compared to Khartagu's army. If they fail to defend the wall, all lives will be killed.

Soon, the enemy commander ordered the troop to attack the North Wall. Ladders were carried and place on the wall. Soldiers starts to climb like zombie. No matter there arrow showeing down or being stoned, the soldiers move on as if they has no feels. However, the first wave of attack has fail. The enemy slowly retreat and regroup. Ladders were still lay on the wall and some bodies were left on it. The first day end just like that. King Herald was happy that they suffered zero casualty after the first victory.

The sun set down and the night begins....

(In Khartagu's Tent - East side)

The messenger notify Khartagu regarding of the first wave failure. Khartagu was not angry but he smile, a sinister smile. The first wave of attack was just a test of strength. Now, he is more confindent in taking down the kingdom. He ordered his men to prepare to attack when the moon is covered by the cloud and both camp shall start to attack at the same time. He also ordered whole troop to eat but forbid to drink for the dinner.

(On the North Wall)

King Herald congrats and Thank the soldiers for protecting the kingdom and give them a toast. He tell the soldiers to rest as tomorrow is another big day. Another day to kill another barbarian. The soldiers were happy and worry at the same time for they are happy that the King care for them but they are worry tomorrow might be the last day for them and family to live on this world.

(On the East Wall)

Minister Baldwin was standing on one of the tower and ordered all men to leave him alone there. A falcon was flying towards his direction and landed in front of him. Baldwin take the letter from the falcon and he cried silently. Soon, he replied the letter and look up the sky. He said "Emmett, I am sorry. Its for your own good." The falcon flew away once after Baldwin replied the message.

(Time : 12am midnight)

The cloud starts to cover the moon and darkness starts to creeps the land. Khartagu gives out order to muster all man , all soldiers to prepare for the attack while King Herald has back to his castle for rest. Only few soldiers were on patrol during the night as other soldiers rest to prepare for tomorrow's battle. As the land full with darkness, the soldiers' on patrol were unable to see any movement in front that further than 100 metres away, not even with a torch on hand. Suddenly rain of arrows decent the wall, Khartagu's soldiers battle cry shock the heart of Heavenly Kingdom soldiers. Soldiers on patrol begins to stuck with arrows all over the body. Some died immediately, some eyes, arms, body and legs were shot but struggling to hide from the arrow. PAINS , SORROWS can heard out loud. Soldiers from Heavenly Kingdom which were on rest woke up in confusion from the sudden attack and quickly put on armor and arm themselves with weapons, rushes up the wall.

Khartagu's North army once again begins to climb the ladders which were left behind from previous attack. Rashald Kingdom Soldiers begins their counter attack. Commander of the North Wall gives out numerous commands.

(*Archers! Aim! ... Fire!!!)

(*Man! Kill all those that brave enough to climb our wall!)

*sheow..sheow...sheow....

The barbarians shot by the arrows, one by one drop down dead but the attack seems no effect to slow down their pace. Soon, the wall full of man that trying to climb onto the wall just like black ants in a row marching. In the midst of attack, a ram can be seen rushing towards the gate. Khartagu's army wishes to ram down the gate while the Rashald Army dealing on the wall. The ram's holder rush like the hell hound with ferocious face and crush the gate with atmost strength. Rashald commander saw the action and ordered archers which positioned near the gate to shoot down those ram holders. One holder down but quickly replace by nearest soldier. The ram cannot be stopped. At this moment King Herald reached the North Wall with Minister Baldwin. He was worry of the East Wall and ordered Baldwin to guard there while he stay on North Wall to encourage the soldiers.
