04 Death Awaits

"Archers! Fire!!" ... Flame arrows being shot towards the wooden door. Arrows stuck on the door and the flame began to spread and burned the door.

Lawwis began to worry with the situation. He urged Mary and Lancelot to leave at once but two of of them would not leave. "No, Lancelot...you are my elder brother last son. Your elder brother died and your second brother already in dungeon. I cannot let you die here! I won't be able to face my brother in the next life." urged Lawwis. "Mary, get him to the exit. Quick! And block the exit with the cupboard." said Lawwis.

Mary quickly grabbed Lancelot's hand and pull him to the exit. Lancelot kept struggling as Mary pulls him. "Piak..." Mary slapped Lancelot at the face. "Think about the princess, now you are the only one who can protect her! Think about your father...your brothers and your uncle who willing to sacrifice for the kingdom and the king. You must leave....only you can revenged for us. Remember protect the Princess." After Mary said to Lancelot, she push Lancelot to the secret door and quickly block it with the cupboard. Lancelot kept slamming the back of the cupboard shouting "Nooooooo! No! No! No!.....".

Mary picked a sword from the crates and stand next to Lawwis. She held his hand and looked at him with a teary but along with a smile. The love affection of them both was shown through their eyes. Days of them being together after all these years slowly emerged from memories. Lawwis let go of her hand and grab Mary's waist, pull her close to him and kissed her. At this moment, the door was on flame and smoke begins to fill up the room. However, Lawwis did not care about that. He kneel down and take out a ring from his pocket. "Mary, I am sorry for letting you waiting for so many years and when I'm ready ... this happened...." Lawwis held to Mary's right hand and continued, "Mary, my love.... would you marry me?".

(Cracks started to form on the door. Sun ray shone into the room. Lines of soldiers awaited outside can be seen from the cracks.)

"I do... my dear, life and death, I shall accompany you as your woman." replied Mary. One last kiss, a seconds seems like a minute for both of them.

Lawwis both hands held to the cheeks of Mary and said "Death will not even do us apart...Now, shall we kill some enemies to celebrate our marriage~".

"Gladly to do so" said Mary.

Two of them kicked the wooden door and rushed out. Arrows were shot towards them as soon as they were on clear sight. Lawwis stepped in front of Mary to take on those arrows. As the arrows penetrated Lawwis body, Mary stepped to the side and rushed towards the enemy's captain. Her eyes flowed with tears as she ran with a sword on her hand. The soldiers were stunned upon the action of Mary and was unable to react in time as Mary continue to slain into their ranks. Mary stabbed a soldier and pushed towards the captain. The captain pull out his sword from the sheath to counter Mary but when Mary and the stabbed soldier reach the captain, Mary pull out her sword and gave a kick to the stabbed soldier. The stabbed soldier fell to the captain and the captain was caused to unbalance and unable to catch his own footstep momentum. Mary rushed in slashed the right side of the captain waist. The captain turned 360 degree as he received the wound from Mary and received another slashed from Mary at chest. The captain unable to counter Mary and kneeled down after received two wounds. Then, Mary slashed the neck of the captain with full force. The head of the captain rolled down to the ground. Every soldiers looked in shocked and awe as well when they witnessed a lady have the power to slashed down their very own captain. Mary yell out "Who's next!". Her eyes were like lioness searching for prey. Her mouth twitching like a wolf ready to chomp on the prey. Suddenly, one of the soldiers were shocked till peed his pants and yell out "Retreat!! Retreat!!!". The other soldiers heard him and followed what he did. Slowly all soldiers were affected and retreated.

After all the enemy's soldiers retreated, Mary walked back to Lawwis location. Lawwis was already lay down on the ground due to the injury. The place he lay on already like a pool of blood. His face slowly becoming white due to loss of blood in his body. Mary kneeled down and carry Lawwis to her embrace. "Mary, I'm sorry.....I gotta leave first." Said Lawwis to Mary as he trying to reach his hand to hold onto Mary's cheek. Mary catch Lawwis hand and placed to her cheek. "Its okay, my dear. I am proud to become your wife." tears flowing down as she replied Lawwis. Lawwis smiled and said "Don't cry baby, I'm will be watching you from above." "Baby, Mary.... I.... love .....you...." Lawwis said his last words and passed away. Mary hug him tightly and kissed Lawwis forehead and said "I love you too". Then, she put him down and ran away from there.

(At the secret door)

Lancelot heard about the commotion and he cried quietly. Then, he remembered the princess and he went to find her. The princess was impatient after waiting for so long. She trying to slap Lancelot when she saw him walking out but her hand was got hold by Lancelot. "I know you are a princess but because of your father, your kingdom! I lost my family! Do Not Cross the line and anger me.....now follow me if you want to live" said Lancelot. The princess was scared when she saw his expression and just followed quietly from behind after Lancelot let go her hand and walked away.

Khartagu was angered after he heard the report and said out loud "What a bunch of fool! Just a princess also unable to catch?! Even got the captain killed by a lady ... and even let her ran away....!". He kicked the messenger at the face as tge messenger was kneeling in front of him. "Get me 'one-eyed' right now", Khartagu gave his command. The messenger stand and nod as a sign of understand. Then, he bow and left.

(Several minutes later)

'One-eyed' followed the messenger and went to pay a respect to Khartagu. "Yes, my Great Leader, my great King, you asked for this low life?" One-eyed was wearing clothes that doesn't seems to be the prisoner's attire. He was the one who betrayed Lawwis, betrayed King Herald.

"One-eyed, it seems the information you have provided is true.....here's your gold" Khartagu throw a bag of gold in front of One-eyed. 'One-eyed' eye was sparkling until his other blind one seems can see again. His mouth was drooling and both hands grabing the bag of gold. "Now, one-eyed...." said Khartagu. 'One-eyed' looked at Khartagu curiously. Continued Khartagu, "You shall lead a men of ten and seach for the Princess Leila whereabout...if you able to find her, the daughter of Baldwin shall be yours to keep." 'One-eyed' sexual desire bloom within his heart when he heard that he will be granted Baldwin's daughter who is one of the beauty within the city. Immediately, he answered "Yes, my king" and he left. He immediately gather a men of ten from the army that lost their captain from the previous battle and ride off to the city's outskirts.

(In the dungeon)

King Herald was still far from recovered after the punishment. He was bed ridden but no doctor was to send to cure him. Lemu also bedridden as 'one-eyed' had beaten him up to show loyalty to Khartagu. Lemu's right knee was dislocated, few ribs were broken and his face was full of bruises. Suddenly, someone entered the dungeon.

"Dup...Duppp..duppp" foot steps entering....

Khartagu was the one. He entered King Herald's cell and walked towards him.

"Herald, your daughter will be soon accompanying your queen if you still do not want to open your mouth regarding that matter..." said Khartagu.

"No....."Said King Herald weakily.

Khartagu was angered and went out of the cell. He ordered the guard to bring King Herald a doctor and he said "Herald, I won't let you die. I want you to witness how I'm going to torture Princess Leila." Then, he left the dungeon.
