the forest

Wondering from the rest of the crew, Lydia's lilac eyes glistened with excitement. After 30 years of searching her father finally found the ancient ruins of Janine. The crumbling brick and dusty floors may seem like just old things to others but to lydia this was better than gold, diamonds, and any jewels in the world. history was her treasure! lost in her excitement she almost didn't hear the call for her name. it was a low voice that seemed to be rather desperate to find her. furrowing her brow she followed the whisper on the wind, worrying if someone had been hurt. deeper into the she went when suddenly a light could be seen at the end. how was this possible? did their torches cause a fire? quickening her pace she broke out into a run. only a few feet away was a doorway with only one stone door. the others lay on the floor below shattered. but what she saw at the doorway made her stop in her tracks. on the other side wasnt a room full of discoveries from the past. instead she could see trees, flowers, vines, and even sunlight! in a trance like daze Lydia passed through the opening, without so much of a glance behind her. this was a real life forest! she could even catch glimpses of animals scurrying around the trees. struck with awe lydia beamed a beautiful smile. this was extraordinary! thinking of her father lydia turned around to fetch him. however the ruins she just walked out of were now replaced by a temple now well maintained! was this magic, time travel, or teleportation? Lydia wasn't sure how she arrived but she was excited to find out.
