Approach the king

... In the stands the audiences were dumbfounded, a lot of them recognized who Basil and Soli were facing and were visibly shook.

In the stands the audiences were dumbfounded, a lot of them recognized who Basil and Soli were facing and were visibly shook.

Essentially, they were fighting clones of each other, or rather the abilities were clones of each other, the fighting style not so much. The AI had the flexibility to mix and match fighting styles with manifests and had come up with a perfect counter to whatever they were up against.

In Basil's case, he had favored close combat, the AI determined that if he were to launch an attack at close combat he would be on the losing end and the AI didn't want that so he specifically chose to fight at a range.

Basil tried to close the distance and accelerated faster and quicker until he was right there in front of the king's guard. He lit his fist on fire and launched a punch that was skillfully blocked by the guard. The guard turned around giving a strong kick to Basil's stomach making him slide back for a bit, he couldn't turn his core into flames yet and thus was unable to avoid the attack coming in from the guard.

After creating a space between them the guard raised his hand as he launched an orb that shot forward. This was something that Soli never used, yet to the AI, it was something that was well calculated and predicted.

The orb launched forward, inching closer and closer towards Basil, he instinctively raised his hand as he launched a counter-attack, manifesting a fireball, hoping to cancel it out. It effectively did, as the orb collided with the fireball, the orb vanished as it blew up and exploded into hundreds of icicles as it blasted out in all directions, forcing Basil to retreat while losing most of his HP.

On the other stage, Soli was also having trouble facing the guard, in her case, she was a strong ranged attacker, but at the same time, the system determined that she had more experience with melee fighters and decided that it was the best to fight against someone a ranged opponent. The entire fight was a spectacular fight of hits and misses, as they launched attacks from across the room fire and Ice spraying everywhere.

Soli was dodging left and right, just barely avoiding the licks of flames that were shot across, while she shot the ice spears narrowly missing the king's guard. The spears landed on the ground neatly. She stepped forward activating her domain as the Guard activated his domain as well, each counteracting with each other canceling it out.

Offstage, the crowd was at the edge of their seats, grabbing on for the thrilling battle between the two of them, they sighed as they watched their favorites getting dismantled by the overpowered AI.

"This is unfair! In what scenario will you encounter the perfect counter for your type!"

"Initially they set this up as a 1 vs many battles, I felt it was fine, the enemies didn't have manifest and it was a test. Who knew they did them dirty like this, creating a scenario where they basically had no chance of survival."

"Boo! How is the king worth 10 points! If they can even take out the king they should get 100, no 1000 points. The King's guard is dirty!"

As the crowd went into an uproar, Z was calmly accessing the situation, it makes no sense for an unwinnable battle, he felt that as long as he kept his cards close to himself he would be able to turn the tide when it was his turn for battle.

Soli and Basil were in a terrible state, they were at the brinks of death with their HP dwindling, the king's guard stood strong as it towered over them. Soli knew that if she wanted to survive, she had to exit from the room and recover, maybe kill off a couple of other soldiers first. She was sure the king's guard wouldn't leave the room because it would leave the AI open for other attacks, so steeling her resolve she made a break for it, running towards the door, before exiting it.

Basil had another idea, he felt that no matter the situation it would be his shame as a warrior to just escape from the fight. He dashed forward, making use of his remaining health to reach as close to the king as possible. He had basically sapped his entire energy to create a huge flame to burn the room down. A flash flame burned across the room threatening to burn everything into cinders as he stood in the center of the room with his arms folded, his energy drained entirely he fell to the ground limply. Waiting to see if it had done anything to the King.

The King sat on the throne with a smile on his face, the king's guard in front of him holding a shield made of ice that had been partially destroyed, with half of the guard's body decimated, the guard wouldn't function normally even if it wanted too.

"So close!" Basil said as he pulled himself off the ground as he stood up, trying to walk over to the king. I just need to kill him! Step by step, he walked towards the smiling king on the throne.

Soli quickly ran out of the room, she turned around and sealed the entire room in ice in a bid to stop the King's guard from chasing her, but as she tried to leave the building, she was faced with a horde of soldiers, it seemed that when the king was under attack it would send a message for all the soldiers to return to defend the king.

Seeing herself surrounded by enemies, she threw caution to the wind and started to freeze and launch ice spears to attack the surrounding enemies. She was a candle that was about to be blown out, flickering in the wind. Her last-ditch attempt didn't save her as she lost all her HP and her trial was over.

Basil was so close to killing the king, but like Soli, he neglected to check behind him as he was solely intent on killing the king. His footsteps quickened as he reached the king. He raised his hand as he approached the face of the smiling king.
