In the Silverwood city

This city was now deserted elven buildings were empty and all the places were covered in dust like they were not tended for many months. Many places had uncontrolled growth of vegetation once a clean and beautiful city of elves was now completely devoid of any elves.

All the gates of the city were destroyed, walls in many areas were broken buildings of nearby area were crumbled like destroyed with brute force but there were no traces of war like scenario because areas outside the wall were completely intact only area just inside the walls were destroyed.

This city has been abandoned for nearly a year, whole city was left to fend for itself when all the elves migrated to their capital city, only some beast could be occasionally seen inside the city but today was a different day as a elven boat in tattered condition was coming from the dawn stream from a nearby river, this boat was from capital city of elves they has departed just a month before with fastest boat they had after they received reports from the former city lord of Silverwood city when they reached the capital city. The lord claimed that 'he had news about a event happened just before the "dawn of mana" that's what they decided to call that event and he even claimed that that event might be cause of the Dawn.

When the elven empress heard this news she even came out to talk to city lord directly and just after listening whole information from the city lord she personally ordered to ten of the strongest elven guard to investigate this matter.

While this whole operation may be complete fruitless event and might just come out as a failure but living in complete mystery what caused the Dawn to engage in an endeavour to uncover the cause of the Dawn rather than sitting ducks' and fear what might come next.

When these warrior exited they were pretty proud full but now on the tattered boat they looked completely exhausted. Swords in their hands were dull, bowstrings were worn out, mages had their mana potion exhausted. They had to deal with the siege of the aquatic beast for the whole month, the journey they has expected to complete in just 10 to 12 days has taken them nearly a month, none of them has proper rest for the whole month. Only thing caused all of these misfortunes was that they has completely underestimated these beasts and their newly developed mutation.

For the past month from the battle they had fought and from the exhaustion they had from the lack of rest and food made them feel like they were on the death journey, but today they saw tallest tower of the Silverwood city made them regain hope that they can survive till they complete their mission they even brought a transmission stone in case they couldn't return from their mission then at least they could send their information.

By the time they reached Silverwood city pier it was almost noon, pier was not in the great shape because of not being maintained for nearly a year but it was enough for them to tie the ship and disembark. Pier was not far from the city within minutes they reached gate of the city on the side of the river. Gate was broken but was not completely destroyed as there were no forest thus no big animals were present near this side of the gate and from the burnt marks and destroyed place it was easy for them to identify it was work of single-horn fire boar. Not much powerful monster but was vey dangerous if it get its time to activate its skill "charge" because it deals too much damage if Charge skill hit a person but they had archers at senior master grade and it was no problem for them to shoot them down from distance. But they still entered the city with great caution because there were still many dangers for them. After they found a safe spot in the city two of them went to hunt for some food because they had none on the food with them left wile rest of them sat together to make plans for their mission next.

A slightly bulky male elf which has heavy armor on and had a broad sword with him spoke "Silvia don't you have a city plan of this city take it out we need to find replacement of our weapons for reaching that cave"

Silvia the said elven female who was the mage of the team reached out inside the space in front of her which mysticaly distorted and suddenly an old piece of thick paper was pulled out she then spread it on the table in front of her. Then she said to that warrior "captain, what places do you think we should search because I thing they would have cleared armory from the usable sword and bows when they went to capital.

To which that warrior smirked and replied "you are right city lord would have definitely taken those weapon with him because he knew they would never come back here but what about rich. Do you really think they don't had any prized weapons they would definitely hide their collected weapon before going to capital city. Those cowards might have even weapons better than us don't worry about weather there are weapon or not but how to get there"

From the map it was easy to guess where those rich would have resided and it was near forest gate because when the city was being built that place had most manna even city lord palace was in that area but the problem was that that part of area was now completely consumed by the forest and there might be many strong beasts living. They can only think of a plan in which they could retrieve those weapons without getting those beasts

While on earth George was still in his laboratory while doing experiments on the ring he made a device which looked like a solar plate and it was connected to a glass box and there were many antenna like structure inside and all of them were focused on the ring shaped groove. While Sophie was holding a boy of age seven and were separated by a glass window from the main laboratory room.

Boy was looking with a complete interest what was happening inside the room. his name was Sam he was son of George and Sophie, he had come here many times inside this laboratory last two years but today was special day for him because he finally saw the thing his father was experimenting on and with just a view he felt complete attraction to that ring and for nearly ten minutes he pestered his mother for that ring but his mother didn't take him there but this didn't decrease his enthusiasm in that ring and he was practically glued to the widow glass and his gaze was completely focused on the ring inside.

George inside the laboratory was done with his all the preparation as he picked the ring with a fork and put it inside the groove in the glass box and tightly closed the cover of the class box opening and started to vacuum air from the inside the box to make atmosphere inside completely strile.

After done with all the preparation he looked towards his wife and his son and smiled his wife return smiled at him but he noticed that his son eyes were completely on the box instead of him but he pushed it aside as childish curiosity and concentrated on his work.

After some time air inside the box was completely vacuumed, he went in front of a monitor some distance away from his and rechecked all the data on the monitor. After finding all data green he pushed a green button o his right side once and a electronic device chimed "particle extractor started all condition green"

His gaze was fixed on the monitor screen as he increased power of the extractor and electronic voice chimed regularly "10%"

"100% all parameters green, all condition normal, working at full capacity"

George then pushed green button again and electronic voice chimed in response "starting particle injector"

And just then all the antennas started to emit some kind of light and hit that ring again just as George thought that everything was going well that glass box just exploded some kind of energy exited that ring directly passed through Sam and after exiting his body that energy went directly to George monitor and instantly it exited monitor and returned to the ring, the air there distorted for a second as something went through there and next second everything went normal as it was. All of this happened so instantly that no one notices anything. the only thing that was noticed later was that Sam fainted just then.

When the blast happened George knew that test was unsuccessful thus he quickly secured that ring when blast subsided but next moment he heard Sophie sought and looked outside only to see Sam unconscious in Sophie's arm, he ran outside while keeping that ring in his pocket.

At another location in a much larger laboratory which was surrounded with armed personal a second trial of the "Gate" was happening everything there was done in accordance to the previous experiment everything was going well and few government officials were also there to supervise the whole trial. Currently, they were starting the power operator of the gate. (it was happening at the same time George experiment ended). When all three power operator was at maximum output and the government official ordered the operators to start the gate. Similar to the previous experiment went gate reached 50% air started to distort the similarity's of the event caused everyone in the room get more expectation from trial and then suddenly gate exploded at 70% power cause unknown blast was even small scale but there was a difference from last time.

This time when the dust settled a portal of sorts was visible to everyone in the control room and then they saw a salamander-like being come out of the portal, it has a shining body like steel and its tail spikes looked like a knife-edge, it moved around the portal for some time then a solder who was around the gate started to approach that salamander, salamander started to give threatening gesture after it notices him approaching. Solder then turned around towards the control room to his reply officials ordered him to approach, as solders approached it salamander flicked its tail, something flew towards solder and the solder head burst apart and then it was like hell went loose. Salamander gave a strange cry and many of similar being started to pour from inside the portal….
