End of the 1st world

"You promise you'll tell me if you do something this dangerous again?"

"Promise."

"Sure?"

"Yes."

"…Alright." Reluctantly accepting his apology, she stopped crying, floating up from where she crash landed on his chest.

She coughed a few times, seemingly embarrassed from the constant crying she had just displayed a moment ago.

Yue Ying smiled helplessly at her, before shifting away the topic quickly.

"I finished the painting. I wanted to wait for you to come back to show it to you, but the situation happened before you came back." Yue Ying took the painting off the stand, bringing it in front of her. It was covered in a white cloth, which he took off with greatly exaggerated moves.

Seeing him try so hard to cheer her up, Zero giggled, looking at the painting.

A beautiful fairy dressed in a white dress floated in the middle of the light blue sky, amidst all the clouds. She had her face slightly tilted to the side, as if looking at something. In her hand she held small white flower, which paired well with her white, soft hair.

The look in her eyes was deep, bringing you into its depts. A small smile graced the corner of her lips, softening the gaze just ever so slightly. Whatever she was looking at that caused her to have such a look in her eyes had to be something impressive.

Her wings fluttered in the sky, translucent. They showed off their brilliance, with tiny streams of sparkles decorating the wings themselves, bringing her to another level of beauty.

Inscribed on the bottom of the painting where the signature was usually written were 2 letters. FM.

Zero looked stunned at the beauty of the painting. She pointed to it, before pointing to herself, shocked for the second time in a few hours.

"Is… is that me?" Yue Ying hesitated for a second, before nodding slowly. Zero smiled brilliantly, examining the painting happily.

"Woah… this is… amazing! How on earth did you make this?" To Zero's words, Yue Ying just smiled, placing a finger to his lips.

"Secret."

Zero put on a pout, before forgetting about it. She floated to the letters written on the bottom of the painting, tilting her head.

It wasn't the initials of the original body, neither was it Yue Ying's. Just a plain, simple FM.

"Feng Mian. I've decided to use it as my artist's name. Do you like it?"

"Ah? Ah yes! It's a beautiful name."

Zero nodded blankly at Yue Ying's question. For some reason, when he asked that question, Yue Ying seemed to be looking at something else, reminiscing.

Zero doubtfully looked at Yue Ying, before looking away. There wasn't any reason for her to pry too deeply into his look, so she let it go, pretending not to see it.

However, there was a question she had to ask.

"How did you… make this?" It was a beautiful work of art, sure. But when she went through his backstory from his original world, she didn't find anything about painting from it. In his entire 17 years of living, she didn't see a hint of painting skills.

Yue Ying merely smiled at her question, replying easily. "Painting is a skill I honed for a few… years. Maybe your information is incorrect."

Zero stared at Yue Ying, accepting this conclusion reluctantly. Her information was sometimes incorrect, so she could reluctantly agree.

Yue Ying spent some time carefully keeping the painting, before putting up another canvas to draw on. Zero watched Yue Ying paint skilfully, exhibiting skill beyond his age. It was really enjoyable to watch Yue Ying paint, as it gave off a sense of novelty.

"Also Zero, you don't have to watch the female and male lead anymore. I sped up the plot." Zero nodded slowly, before pausing.

"…What do you mean, sped up the plot?"

"Oh. I didn't get kidnapped for no reason. It was to make sure that we could just enjoy ourselves for the remaining of this life."

"I incited the villain to kidnap me, replacing the role of the female lead in this. The world level is quite low, allowing anyone to finish the plot point as long as it was done."

"I followed the plot for a little bit, before ending it nicely using the ending that was given. The villain should be overseas at this point." Yue Ying dabbed more paint onto his brush, painting the canvas.

Zero on the other hand, was confused beyond measure.

"…huh? What?"

"…" Yue Ying sighed, before explaining in more detail.

"In certain system transmigration novels, the protagonist will accidentally take the place of the male or female lead to finish the plot point. Essentially, that is the world getting confused due to the protagonist's strange movements and using whatever they could find to fill the plot."

"High level worlds have a slightly different way of functioning, but in low level worlds, its easy to trick the world into thinking that the plot point is finished."

"So I tricked the world, finished the last plot point and ended the story early." Yue Ying poked the little figure on his shoulder with the tip of his paintbrush, smearing some blue paint on her dress accidentally.

"Host… who are you?"

"A small child from earth." Yue Ying replied easily. Zero, who hadn't noticed the stain on her dress, stared at Yue Ying disbelievingly.

"…so… we can do anything we want now?"

"Hm… not exactly. We aren't bound by the laws of the story anymore. So the female lead and the male lead have lost their halos as main characters and can be fought against now."

"Ah…"

Zero sat dumbly on Yue Ying's shoulder, watching him paint canvas after canvas, not bothering to ask about her host's thinking process anymore.

Yue Ying managed to debut as a powerful painter, whose works were wanted by everyone around him. He slowly rose to the top of the chain. Even the powerful Gao Family had to appease him from time to time. His works could cause people to fight for them due to their beauty. His first work Yosei, which was also known as his best, was fought over every single day, before finally landing back in the hands of Yue Ying.

Wei De benefited the most. Being the one who noticed him at first, he had bought a lot of Yue Ying's paintings and boasted about them all the time. Yue Ying even gifted him some paintings as a form of thanks for his help at the beginning.

Due to some of the plot points being skipped over, the female and male lead didn't have much time to consolidate their love. Eventually, they became strangers who barely knew each other. They both however, flourished under the influence of the remaining halo they had.

The youth who was supposed to be the big villain at the end of everything became a small plot point who didn't have much to do with the plot, going to jail as the perpetrator of the kidnapping incident.

As for Yue Ying and Zero, they both spent their time leisurely, having ended the plot early. Yue Ying lived to the ripe old age of 80 before dying suddenly, letting everyone mourn his death for months after.

However, that didn't matter for both Yue Ying and Zero, who had completed the original's wishes. Leaving the world, they both high fived like kids. After such a long time together, they naturally got closer together.

Looking back at the world they left, Zero sighed happily, closing the panel. She opened another one, nodding happily.

Yue Ying laid down in the middle of the space, watching the stars. They were currently in the space. Zero was preparing the next mission, humming as she swiped on a bunch of panels. Having received the energy from the world, she now had a more steady form. The wings that weren't seen before when she was in her human form now showed themselves, glimmering in the starlight.

"Alright! Host, we can set off to the next world now."

"Hm. Alright. Is it possible for you to go first? I'll be with you in five."

Zero tilted her head at this request, before nodding slowly. "Then… I'll go first. Take your time. The system time is different from the time in space, so you can slowly do whatever you want to."

Zero disappeared from the space, leaving Yue Ying there. Yue Ying slowly sat up, looking around at the place.

Suddenly, a whole bunch of stars flashed by. Eventually, a planet appeared in front of Yue Ying. It shimmered for a second, before shrinking down into a small book. The book had a light glow.

Yue Ying held the book in his hands, observing it. The book seemed to shiver under his gaze. It turned into a pile of stars, entering Yue Ying's palms. This situation happened for a little while, before all the stars that came out from the book had entered Yue Ying's palms.

Yue Ying turned his hand, showing off a thin wrist. His originally black eyes turned red for a second, making him look slightly scary.

On his wrist there was a small paintbrush tattoo. Yue Ying watched it disappear into his skin, before walking to the panel that Zero left open for Yue Ying.

Pressing the button there, he was engulfed in the darkness, eventually disappearing.

The space went silent.
