Turns

The next few days the phone kept beeping with updates. More player's were eliminated than passing through the next stage. Hope's turn was two turns away.

She had spent more time at Conner's house. Conner walked through the home setting the alarm system and getting ready for what was to come. At all costs he felt like he must protect Hope. They were in this together.

The phone beeped causing the tension in the air to thicken.

Hope gasped as she saw that the last two players were eliminated. She knew then that she was next.

She could not help the fear that ran over her. On her phone, her heart rate was displayed. She slumped down and cried.

Conner rushed over placing his hand on her shoulder and then pulling her into a embrace.

He kissed her forehead and for the time being he did not speak any words.

He could only watch as her phone beeped as the distance got closer and closer. He had no idea what was about to come through that door.

Should they run? Should he hide her? All these questions rummaged through his head. It was in that moment he came to a horrible realization.

When he tried to help Natalie the warning posted saying not to or risk elimination. Would he be brave enough to help this time? The dark thought of abandoning Hope flashed through Conner's mind.

Could he really leave her to die? The phone beeped once more. 300 feet .....
