Father: She will refuse & I will agree.
Commander: But you see….
Father: No you see. Do you have any children, commander?
Commander: Yes. I have three sons.
Father: Then I suggest you teach them how to treat a woman. A man who has multiple women cannot give one his all and from what I have heard, the shogun has multiple wives and concubines. He will never be able to give himself entirely to my daughter so my answer will forever be no. Have a safe return journey back to your Kingdom.
Flashback…..
The shogun begins to get ready for the upcoming trip. Standing in his room, he speaks to the commander.
Shogun: I am counting on you to ensure that I get that fathers blessing because if I do not, my sisters grace would not save you from the consequences of your failure.
Commander: I understand, my grace.
Currently.....
The commander walked to the carriage defeated, to give the news of what had transpired to the shogun. Facing the shogun, he stated what the father had said and that he would never change his mind.
The shogun was not able to contain his anger in the commanders failure however he said let's go. As the commander was entering the royal carriage, the shogun said no, you ride in the other carriage. I can't stand the sight of someone who has failed me. Remove yourself from my eyesight!
The sorcerer entered the carriage and the cavalcade headed back to the kingdom. While heading back, the sorcerer asked the shogun if he had given up?
Shogun: Given up? He let out a laugh. I never give up. I don't fight only to win. I fight to end it.
I fight to take care of the individual as well as the horse he rode in on.
Glad to hear it, the sorcerer responded. The sorcerer looked out the carriage window thinking about the woman he had seen. She was definitely different from the typical Japanese woman and worthy of a 'real' husband.
