Chapter 17

She thought about the identity of those two girls. The one with the red fedora was familiar to her. That girl sounded like the perfect description for her best friend before she met Aj. It was Maria Filletia.

Maria was an orphan, but she didn't know that. Her relatives and Ellie were the only people who knew that. She then took some money from her piggy bank and waited for a tricycle to stop and take her to Maria's house.

As she arrived, she paid the fare, walked outside the tricycal and scanned the outside of the house. The house seemed abandoned for atleast 4-6 years for it was ridden with dust and leaves all around but... she saw a light flicker on and off on the third floor of the house.

She knew that someone was in there... but the only question is... who? She opened the rusty, creaky gate and took steps inside the abandoned-looking, dusty house. The exterior was dusty and some metal parts were ridden with rust. She saw the maple tree, the swing and the fountain beside the house.

The maple tree looks a tiny bit dead but is still standing, nonetheless. The swing on the tree looks like it has been repaired and the fountain... it looked as if... its telling her to go away and never look back... Ellie was slightly unsettled at the sight of the fountain but nonetheless, she moved on.
