Mr. Xia couldn't believe what he read on the dossier. Did his daughter cause all of that pain and suffering? He had to know for himself, so he hired someone to investigate her before going to sleep.
The first thing he did after waking up the next day was to check for any messages from the investigator. The man had already sent him a preliminary report, and it confirmed all of the dossier claims. Mr. Xia had no choice but to accept that his daughter wasn't what she looked like
.Even then, he couldn't bring himself to hand her over to the authorities. But two things were certain: she couldn't be allowed to do as she pleased, and she needed professional help. So he called the bodyguard he sent along with Xia Heru and ordered her to find a mental institution for his daughter.

Yan Shu lazed around in bed until late in the morning. Being Saturday, there were no classes to attend. She wanted to stay in bed even longer, but her growling stomach wouldn't allow her.
Too lazy to make something to eat, and with Song Yun still sleeping, she decided to order some food for both of them, enough to be a brunch.
She knocked on Song Yun's door, set up the table, and waited a few more minutes for the food to arrive. When it did, she once again knocked on her friend's door who, only then, came out.
After eating, they both lazed around on the couch while watching soap operas until it came time for Yan Shu's part-time jobs.

After tutoring Hao Ren and working at the Chen Groups, Yan Shu took a bus headed downtown.
Rather than the nicer parts of town, she got off on one of its poorest neighborhoods. She walked for a couple of minutes until reaching a rusted iron gate. She went through it to find a house painted black. Rather than using the front door, she walked around to the backyard and yelled, "Raven, open the door for me."
Inside the house, an electronic voice sounded out. "The Boss is back," it said. "Mom, bring her some food. Dad, try not to talk her ears out. And Kai, just shut up."
Raven was the name Yan Shu chose for the artificial intelligence she created. It spoke just like her, with the exact same personality. And just like Yan Shu, it despised Kai while at the same time liking his parents.
"Welcome back Boss," it spoke as Yan Shu walked in. "Boss, that idiot Kai is talking shit again. Yesterday he kept complaining that you didn't thank him and even said that he would beat you."
"Shut up, computer," Kai spoke. "Seriously, I must've sinned a lot in a past life to be forced to deal with you."
"Kai, stop acting like a spoiled child," ordered Renji, Kai's father. The older man always loved Yan Shu. She wasn't his daughter, but he treated her as if she were. "If Yan Shu is here, then it must be important, so shut up and do as she tells you."
Yan Shu thanked Renji before turning to Kai. "Now, come with me to the basement."
Kai grumbled but followed along. They went down the stairs to the basement where there were a bunch of computers, all of them connected to the main system. But rather than focusing on them, Yan Shu's gaze fell to the floor where all of the cables and wires were messily scattered.
She took a hard look at Kai who, in turn, looked away. "What's this?" she asked, receiving no answer in return. "All right then, if that's how you want it. Kai, fight me."
