"Where am I? What happened? Wasn't I....demonic?"
"Yes, you were," said the figure in front of him. It was the heavenly figure himself but this time Jake couldn't see him due to a bright light blinding him and preventing him to see the Divine One.
"Don't worry, I turned you back to your normal self and gave you what was right fully yours." He pointed at Jake's back. Jake turned back in fear and saw two golden angelic wings. They were glistening and beautiful beyond compare. They were so bright and magnificent that he didn't want to take his eyes off it. He touched it with his bloody hands and his hands were flushed instantly with purification and it cleansed his hands. He looked at the Divine One and asked, "Why?"
"This was all my doing. I rigged your life turning it into a game for you to test you and I'm deeply sorry. My father, meaning the Destructive One, also caused you trouble. I simply cannot apologize enough."
"Your father is the Devil?! YOU HAVE A DAD?!"
"Don't look so surprised, Jake. Everyone has a father. Even...….you."
"I guess."
"Listen, Jake. I'm giving you a new life, one where you can start fresh with a person you love and that will cherish forever. She is waiting down there; can't you see that Sylvia has taken some interest in you?"
"I mean I barely know her."
"You met her once; don't judge a book by its cover. I'm not going to help you with your romantic life but I do know that you will be happy. Trust me."
"Then please I have a request, rather a question."
"By all means, ask."
"Would you bring back every one I slaughtered for better or worse and provide them happy lives?"
"That I can't do."
"Why? Why does a scumbag like me get to enjoy life while others suffered?"
"Suffered, yes but they were all your doing. You killed them, you cannot do anything. You have to hold responsibility of your actions. You cannot just commit a sin and expect it to be replenished once you come to me. You have to carry that burden on your shoulders, forever."
"....."
"Don't worry you will get what you deserve, not now though."
"Ok, then. Send me back, I want to start again."
"Good, this will be the last time I see you so if you have anything to say, might as well do so."
"I have nothing."
"Very well, then. Farewell, Jake Griffin."
"Bye."
A golden mist engulfed and took him away to the mainland. The Divine One smiled. Then, grinned. He grinned so fiercely that his grin extended all the way to his cheek. He bled from the sides of his smile and said;
"Hehe…..poor kid. That brat thinks he can do anything now. I might as well make this more interesting from him by taking away everything he has. I'll take his wings, family, friends and more. Now that everything is going as I planned, I will remove magic from that world and start from scratch. What do you think about this ….divine crap?"
A corpse was behind the heavenly throne. It reeked of blood and sweat. It was...…him. He was face flat on the platform with his limbs broken and teeth shattered. The charlatan approached his dead body and shoved his hand in his stomach and rubbed some blood on his face whilst having a devious smile.
"What a magnificent scent he has…well had! HAHAHAHAHA! But all jokes aside what am I going to do...…..with my irresponsible child of mine?"
Jake has a new life, he is tormented with absolute shit luck, the Divine One is dead and no one knows that. Jake is having trouble with his life and almost thinking of going back to his twisted ways. But either way, the path he chooses is sinful. What is going to happen?
Will Jake have a bright light to wash away all his troubles or will he go back to being sane?
