Past & Present Merge

"Ugh." Ali groaned when her friend told her that Seonghwa would join them later, and she downed her drink. "Why did you invite him?"

Wooyoung looked at her perplexedly and was worried about her drinking habits. Sometimes being her friend was exhausting; yet, he wouldn't have her any other way. She was one of his greatest friends after all.

"Don't drink like that! I don't want you drunk like the last time." He rolled his eyes at her crazy antics and continued, "I know things are weird between you, but before you started dating, you two were good friends. Can't you just go back to that?"

"It's not that simple..."

"What's not that simple?" a voice asked from behind Wooyoung and Seonghwa appeared in Ali's sights.

She felt her heart squeeze as she studied him over her glass. He looked handsome - like always - with his messy blonde hair, a black shirt that clung to his body and a leather jacket. Girl almost choked on her drink.

"It's nothing..." Ali trailed off when she noticed someone with a small stature holding onto his arm. Jae.

"Let's go dance!" Wooyoung could feel the anger rising from Ali and dragged her onto the dance floor before she gouged her sister's eyeballs out.

Seonghwa sat at the now empty table and his stare drifted over to Ali, who was dancing wildly with Wooyoung.

He really didn't understand this sense of familiarity he had when it came to her.

Suddenly a pain invaded his head, and he winced.

"Hunny, let's dance!"

"No, no." Seonghwa refused, but he still let her take his hands and lead him onto the dance floor.

She spun around and pressed her body against his, his arms naturally wound themselves about her waist. Their bodies moved in sync to the music.

"Seonghwa are you Ok?!" Jae's voice broke through the memories and he could barely hear her as he was lost in his own head.

They stumbled outside and Seonghwa held Ali up so she wouldn't fall over.

"Ali, I told you not to drink so much," an exasperated Seonghwa scolded her.

However, he couldn't stay mad at her for long when he saw her pouty face.

"Shh." She held a finger to his lips and then grabbed his collar, leaning back against the wall. "You're just as drunk as me, mister."

She giggled and pulled him down so she could meld her lips with his.

"What's going on?" Ali had seen Seonghwa with his head lowered and had rushed back to the table.

"Seonghwa?" Wooyoung placed a hand on the other male's arm. "You good?"

Seonghwa seemed to have snapped out of a trance and looked up at Ali and Wooyoung - his expression was now more relaxed.

"I'm fine." He smiled to reassure them and then stood up. "I'm going to call it a night. Sorry I didn't stay long."

"It's fine." Wooyoung patted him on the shoulder. "Get some rest."

Wooyoung and Ali stood by the table and watched the couple leave.

"Don't you want to go after him?"

"No." Ali solemnly shook her head. "I'm not the one by his side anymore."
